It's strange how there's barely anything in these titles, is it indicative of films not wanting title sequences any more, other than James Bond? All this said was 'so and so presents' and then it was a title sequence with no titles. Oh well it was the only way it could've started.

I was an enormous fan of the first two films, being a young teen when they came out, and although I stuck with the series, the downgrade in quality during "The Last Stand" did rob some of my excitement. Although I felt "First Class" and "The Wolverine" were good, and started to build my excitement back up for this film. When the movie opened, I immediately felt back at home, like I was seeing the first two films again for the first time, and when the "X2" theme started playing, I practically leapt out of my skin in excitement. (Because yes, Bryan Singer was back.) And I gotta say... "Days of Future Past" is my favorite film of the franchise now, because not only does it match the quality of the first two entries... I think everyone (cast and crew alike) has matured in the 14 years since the series started, and knew exactly what the film should be, and made it a perfect installment in the franchise.

The generation of 2000 grew up with Bryan Singer's X-Men, Sam Raimi's Spider-Man, and Christopher Nolan's Batman. In my opinion the X-Men saga is only: 1. X-Men: First Class 2. X-Men 3. X-Men 2 4. X-Men: Days of Future Past 5. Logan The Deadpool ones I prefer to put in another universe and the other movies like The Last Stand, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, The Wolverine, Apocalypse, Dark Phoenix and The New Mutants are decent to bad and I prefer to make them not exist apart from that you get rid of many inconsistencies in the timeline.

You knew the movie was going to be amazingly epic when they redid X2's theme music. I remember being so teary with happiness when this started and my brother was currently in the toilet at the cinemas, missing out on the epicness. I still feel for him to this day that he never experienced the opening title scene in the cinemas.

Man the X-Men: Apocalypse opening was absolutely amazing! (Spoilers...) I loved how it was meant to be traveling the timeline of the human race and the original score from X2: X-Men United played again and I swear it is one of my favourite superhero themes! Right up there with The Avengers and Spider-Man themes!

I smiled gleefully when I heard the theme and saw this. I loved X-Men when I was a kid, and I grew up with these movies. I watched them again (including X3, which honestly isn't that horrendous, but it is still flawed) to get ready, and when this came, it's like my childhood came back full on. As for the movie, one of the best superhero movies ever made.

Sitting in the movie theater, and all of a sudden as if the movie's trying to say "Yup, we're back to the elegance, brilliance and ass-kickyness of X2", it plays the main theme from X-2 in a new rendition. One of the greatest fuck yeah moments in my life.

2022: A dark desolate world. A world of war, suffering, loss on both sides. fighting an enemy we can not defeat.. Are we destined down this path? destined to destroy ourselves like so many before us? Or can we evolve fast enough to change ourselves?.. change our fate? Is the future *truly* set?

People, I have something to say about X-Men here. Just bear with me. Now, all you people would agree. Everything changed when Christopher Nolan came along with The Dark Knight Trilogy. Cartoonyness and childish went out the window, and things changed. Many superhero franchises already existed beforehand, and some got hit by this hard, to me. An easy way to describe this, imagine these franchises as joggers in a marathon. Think of "Batman Begins" as a pole put right in front of them at the last second. There was no forewarning, and it hit by surprise. A couple joggers tripped and fell (Superman Returns, Fantastic Four, Ghost Rider), some tripped but got back up, only to find they broke a leg (Spider-Man 3, The Amazing Spider-Man 2), and some were lucky they hadn't even got started (Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, The Avengers). I came to realize X-Men was the only jogger (franchise) that fell and broke a leg, but through the great efforts of medical aid (good screenwriters, directors, and little studio involvement), it survived what I call "The Shift" of superhero movies. It was able to evolve, just like the mutants that live in its story and join the ranks with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, The Dark Knight Trilogy, and "The Amazing Spider-Man" (Sorry, fellas. Didn't like 2 that much). Hopefully it will live forever and ever, and never have to suffer a crisis like that again.
