It all depends. Spiderman dropped Juggs into a deep vat of wet cement which totally engulfed Cain and eventually hardened. But he was able to flex a finger and that was enough momentum to eventually be able to move his hand, then arm, then eventually break loose. We're talking about a magic being who can raise a forcefield around himself in order to keep anything from touching him, can bust through dimensional planes when he's at full power, and doesn't need food, water, air, or flesh to function. He's even been able to maintain forward momentum after being suspended in the air motionless via telekinesis. In the end, super strong beings like the Hulk only really beat him by using his momentum to throw him half a continent away. Otherwise the only surefire way to stop him is to shut down his mind so he can't think to move. This rendition of Cain is a mutant though, so his power is likely drastically lowered compared to the guy who was able to solo the 'Days of Future Past' Sentinals in a 'What-If' comic.

Juggernaut's helmet, like the rest of his armor and the source of his power, is magical. You can't simply melt it down.

Not really. It makes more sense for Juggernaut to use magic instead of be a mutant after all Juggernaut did have an inherent hatred of Xavier for being a mutant.

Juggernaut is Xavier's half-brother who hates Xavier because his father loved him and beat Cain. He grew to hate telepaths and mutants because his brother was reading his mind. Having Cain as a mutant would weaken his origin and motivations, as well as the friction with Xavier Everytime he tries to reform.

It's called _"retroactive continuity"_ or retcon for short. Been a thing since the year 2000.

It being a retcon would imply that the show used the mystical origin story but then, later down the line, switched to this one, which it doesn't do.

Sean Dwyer His powers are magical in the comics, but not in this show - here he's a mutant whose powers were dormant, but he awakened them through mysticism. They explain that later in this episode. Putting his origin aside though, his powers are the same as in the comics. He's completely invulnerable to physical damage, has superhuman strength, doesn't need to breathe, eat or drink to survive and once he starts moving, he's unstoppable. The only way to stop him is to use telepathy while he's not wearing his helmet. I hope I answered your original question :)
