This is one of my favorite X-Men movies! McAvoy and Fassbender are the perfect replacements for Stewart and McKellen!! Also glad to see Johanna back at the store!! And Nicholas Hoult is pretty good as Hank/Beast! Not as good as Kelsey Grammar but he's very believeable as his younger self.

Really fun movie with a great cast. McAvoy plays Charles Xavier perfectly with his soft spokeness and cool demeanor. Fassbender plays Erik Lensherr as the guy you hate to love. Kevin Bacon and Michael Ironside are great, too. "I prefer Magneto." Mic drop.

I really enjoyed X-Men First Class. The scene where Magneto takes out the former concentration camp guards in the bar was chilling. Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy were awesome as Magneto and Charles Xavier.

For context, Angel Salvatore is not Pixie, Pixie is a different character who's a welsh girl with pink hair. Angel went by her name in the comics because the original Angel was Archangel at that point, she later for the name Tempest after she lost her powers.

Its so bad cause Emma Frost doesn't get her second mutation until after Genosia as a response to almost dying and she can not use her psychic abilities while using it. And with Darwin his adaptability is so powerful that if there is a situation he cannot adapt he just teleports away.

Upon rewatching, I also asked how Mystique knew the helmet, but then I remembered, she changed into the image of Shaw that she saw when he attacked, he had the helmet and took it off when he saw Charles wasn't there

I'm pretty sure in the comics a somewhat similar thing happened to Darwin where he did basically die in an origin story but then some 20 years later you find out his essence somehow survived and he was able to come back. So his death in the movie never really bothered me cause I always thought they could basically bring him back in another storyline 20 years later using the same actor. But also, I usually give the Xmen movies a lot of leeway otherwise the comic book fan in me would just tear em apart and I wouldn't be able to enjoy em.

I think magneto should be an old man in the first new xmen movie and then get his own sort of origin story/ side quest movie and they should borrow from xmen: evolution where super soldier serum acts as a fountain of youth for mutants and they de-age magneto to like 35 going forward

• The movie justifies Erik's revenge while completely sidelining Charles. Charles' pleas literally amount to nothing and achieves nothing. He literally loses everything while Erik gains it. It makes Charles out to be more of a villain than Erik and is utterly morally bankrupt in its storytelling. The movie WANTS you to have Erik take his revenge. Erik literally becomes the thing that he was fighting against: a fascist Nazi. It's not a tragedy if the movie wants you to go along with it. The movie literally gives you no alternative to killing Shaw. • I also don't like the idea of Shaw being behind his parents' deaths. The main thing that Erik hates the most is humans in the pursuit of mutant supremacy, and yet the source of his vengeance is a mutant? Shaw literally wants the same thing Erik does. A fascist becomes a fascist by killing a fascist 😂. It only muddies the waters of the motivational narrative. • It is also blatantly racist and sexist. Every single female or person of color character succumbs to the civil injustices done to them and is nothing but a shell of their comics counterparts. Darwin literally only exists to die and is given a lazy "you're gonna be enslaved" speech which only exists to make me roll my eyes (among other things later on), Angel changes sides for the dumbest reason and becomes a flat-out murderer, Moira stupidly shoots at Erik knowing that he controls metal and can ricochet every bullet away from him and her memories are erased and she gets turned into a joke, Emma Frost is nothing but Shaw's sidepiece lackey, and Mystique is a whiney teenager who only cares about her looks and whether or not people like her. • Why did the Russians make Shaw's/Erik's helmet? What did they use it for? Why does it block telepathy if humanity doesn't know about mutants? • Shaw's plan is SOOOO STUPID! He wants to start WWIII using nuclear weapons to evoke mutant supremacy, but the nukes would kill mutants, too! 😂 A handful of mutants living in a submarine isn't mutant supremacy. • Poor continuity with prior entries. Charles : "I met a young man named Erik Lensherr when I was 17" - he's clearly not 17 Erik: "I helped build it (Cerebro)" - Hank built it Charles and Mystique are step- siblings when there has been zero mention of that being the case before. • "You're Professor X, and you're Magneto!" *Gags* *Rolls eyes* • Did I mention that Mystique is a shallow bitch? This ENTIRE MOVIE is shallow! • Charles IS NOT a spoiled rich asshole, nor is Mystique his step-sibling. Cain Marko, AKA Juggernaut, is. Charles is a hypocrite who trains others to accept their gifts, but can't accept mutations which look different. Again, the movie goes out of its way to make Charles out to be a villain more than Magneto. • It's a poor, rushed origin for the X-Men. The fact that humanity doesn't even know that mutants exist in and of itself is a joke 😂. The Cuban Missile Crisis literally has nothing to do with an oppression of a group of people. • Angel betrays them and Havok is in solitary confinement. What was Charles' thought process for morality? There's literally nothing stopping them from going out on a killing spree 😂.

That's probably the most logical thing you can think of Emma Frost it and stop Magneto from using the chain to break the boat because she was still blocking Charles and her and Shaw were running through the boat, so she's physically running and blocking Charles at the moment, at least from controlling her or Shaw. So you could easily argue. That that's the case because this is a young game of frost. She's not gonna be the Phoenix saga, Emma Frost. Or other? Versions of her so she's not gonna be as powerful with her telepathic powers. As Charles usually is and plus I mean, Charles is the more powerful telepath. I think anyway, so it probably was taken a decent amount of variability to block him while also physically exerting herself with Shaw. And it doesn't look like she works out regular. Ly as she looks like a pretty petite. Cute, sweetheart, that's mostly a telepath. So if she does no physical training is even harder for her to run around that yet. While it changed breaking through it and blocking Charles. She's doing 2 things at once and plus when Magneto talks to mistake when she's on the bench press and he mentions. How? I was supposed to be 100% effective or build. You know, fighting? Do all the shit if she's always maintaining that normal Jennifer Lawrence? Look, she's always trying to look like a normal human instead of being in a blue skin. That's her using part of her consciousness, her powers at all times if she's always looking like a blonde normal girl if she's in her blue skin. She has the ability to adapt and use her powers and fight at a 100%. She's not concentrating on something else while also trying to do something else. And I think the bench pressing adds to that and makes us understand that when a mutant is worried about being normal or looking normal. Instead of just being themselves and using their abilities, they can't be all they can be. They can't strive to be a 100% because they're worried about what people think or if people are afraid of them and if they can be out in public without hiding so. It might be reaching far, but let's face it.Emma Frost is in as powerful as Charles and she couldn't block magnito.And block charles
