I lived across the University of Singapore during the seventies till the nineties. Yes, that area used to get flooded on the lower ground. The whole estate is on upper ground, but the front portion facing Dunearn Road is on a lower portion about 3 to 4 feet lower. 1973 or 74, there was a big flood at the lower ground. That was our swimming pool for that day. It was a good memories. After the canal was completed, no more flood. Sorry, don’t understand the street name or place in Mandarin. I only know Singapore’s streets and places of interest in English.

Where did you get the miniatures of the 7 milestone road? I used to stay there but my memory are fading. The miniatures are a good way to rediscover the area I grew up. I can even pinpoint the small road from there tat I used to go into my kampong!!
