Jaw-dropping footage of the fire aftermath. It's the first time I'd seen how extensive it was. I used to be one of the Street Theatre Team at Thorpe Park and I spent most of my free time hanging out in Phantom Fantasia (as it was then) jumping out at people.

This ride is so much better since the re-theme this year, It's just called X now and it's got loads of lasers inside it full of music. It's like a ride and rave on this rollercoaster now

where the wicked witches haunt used to be is where Detonator now is. think of that next time you are at Thorpe :)

X is always the first ride I go on when I go to Thorpe Park. It's really not that good and is getting on a bit now, but it holds nostalgic value for me and I use it as a sort-of build up to the bigger coasters in the park.

I'm so sad that the fire destroyed a lot of old, legendary attractions! Looking at Mr. Rabbit, it'd be something I would enjoy as a kid. It seems cute! (Note I went a year after the fire.)

This ride is epic, it doesn't go upside down or anything it just goes backwards! And you can see everything on the ride easily!

I went on it a few weeks after my first comment, and I can tell you its not that long lol! It lasts about 2 minute and is loads of fun, depsite all these bad reviews. It stops a lot but that adds to the effects (IE. thinking its stopped then panicing when it suddenly goes again) The queue is quite short actually! Trust me, You ill be laughing the whole way through, I did, 3 times!

a bit of intresting trivia about x:/no way out: while building, they ended up running out of money, to combat this, they decided to have the ride in the dark, thus making it the first backwards in-the-dark roller coaster ever, and meaning they can store spare carts inside :p

the only good thing about X://no way out is that it makes the other ride queues shorter! Went on it when it first opened, and apart from waiting about 3 hours inside that red and green pyramid (they used to make you queue inside, but they don't do that anymore cos people used to have panic attacks and open the fire doors) the only other memorable thing about it is it used to make you ache cos you didn't know where it was going.

As a Theme park enthusiast, I do miss the ride, but only as PHANTOM FANTASIA, the origonal and BEST version. Why did that peice of crap called Detonator have to take it's place???????????? Bring back the above mentioned ride

And the forwards part reminds me of X when it was re-themed (again) that the trains now goes forwards with disco lights and music from this year, 2013.

When I went on it we paused what seemed like the top of a hill... then a gust of air went into my ear and scared the shit out of me.... but ya know what... I bloody love this ride so so much.... am going again in July wooooooohoooooooooooooo!

I would have prefered it pitch black and no lights.. That scared me shitless when I went on it way back in 1999!!! I prefered it also when it was the metal grills and green lighting as you walked onto it.. it should have scary evil music as well!! Then it would be better!!

it's designed to keep stopping, thats how it is. it adds to the atmosphere, stopping in pitch-darkness. i have to say, it isn't as exiting as collusus or stealth, but it set records.

The Wicked Witch haunt was a brilliant ride. I have very fond memories of going on this Ghost train as a child. Such a shame some moron with a cigarette destroyed it. Wish they would bring it back !

I wish this ride had more story to it. Like, personify the computer virus and make him like Swayzak.

The Camcorder guy must have seen a real ghost come out of what was left of Wicked Witches Haunt. His hands were shaking so much made the video almost unwatchable.

i went on this a few times today and yesterday but i cant remember doing what it does in 4:03 ... i heard there was a fire and so it went from 5 floors to 3 floors but i dont know if it were just a rumour

i love the bit where it stops, goes forward a little and goes back again. But it would be better if it's an ongoing ride and the lights do ruin it. But it's a sick ride !! couldn't stop going on this ! x

lol I went recently, everyone says it rubbish but it is one of my best rides. This was the first ride me and my friend went on and how creepy, we were the only ones on the ride and we sat at the very back (front that goes back) and it's actully quite creepy being the only ones on. At the end it goes fowards and says there for like 2 minutes and all I did when we stopped on the ride is cover my face and go understand the seats. BTW they added music to this so it's quite creepy.

Oh no, the track is much better than the flying fish, a proper rollercoaster rather than a powered one.

actually it's supposed to be a backwards rollercoaster in the dark...however it is never very dark and the coaster is incredibly slow, with nothing exciting happening....it's not worth the long wait!

@Ihatesimoncoweel The tracks are all contained in a building. To prevent collisions, the cars stop and go in a pattern so the tracks that are near each other don't cause an accident.

Why is everyone talking about bloody X/:No Way Out and not the great thorpe park fire?? And also, why would someone throw-up on X/:No Way Out?? Not exactly that fast or anything..it doesn't spin and it doesn't go upside down..seems really strange.

x no way out used to have 5 floors and a revolving tunnel that all got burned because of the fire who would do this who was smoking on that ride when they were told not to.

Reminds me of a few years ago when I went to Thorpe Park. We went to X no way out.. We queued and eventually were at the front of the queue for the next people to get on. We watched the car go off with the people in front of us and waited for it to return so we could get on. We waited. And waited. We thought the ride can't be this long. Next thing we know they're telling everyone to evacuate. We still don't know what happened, but whatever it was couldn't have been good. anyone have info? ^

they now have music for this ride, they out loud music on in the ride now and it's a lot funnier with the music

when li went, they had the emergency lights on, so everything was green, cos one of the stilts collapsed

I rode this twice on Thursday, it wasn't that great. But stupid Stealth broke down every time we were in the queue, so never even got to ride the one ride I was really looking forward to.

DONT DISS DETONATOR! I love drop rides and detonater is a brilliant one! I very vagueley remember the wicked witches haunt but only the turn table (rapids style) loading station.

huh doesnt this ride have water on it and how did you get it in the light? its much better in the dark, when it flashes and you get sprayed with the water lol, far more exciting

i was only screaming because my legs were cramped in the carriage and i genuinely feared for my life as it didn't feel safe aha

@pud881 In the summer of 2000, July if I remember rightly. I remember so clearly my mum reading the story out loud off teletext and I cried because we used to go to Thorpe Park as a family every year then and my two favourite rides had just been burnt down. End of an era :(

this was filmed years ago! and damn i wish thorpe park had all the old rides now, slowy they started getting rid of all my favourite rides and only a hanful of decent old rides are there now, thorpe park isn't the same anymore

@Vikksi2796 My friends pulled me into the line and wouldnt let me leave, litterely 2 people were ahead of us and it broke down ,they kept saying it had massive backwards and dark drop

i was surprised by this, i was told it was an effect right where you see shit, not some bloody drop into silly rib crunching turns with a lap bar

As much as i love thorpe park, X no way out has got to be the worst ride, when i went on it the locking mechinism didn't even lock, there was a dad and a kid sitting behind us and they where scared shitless.

Bad rollercoaster its quite old. Plus some boy stood up as it was going around and fell 30 feet in pitch black! Ouch!
