Comforting Loneliness is the only way I can describe this album. It's beautiful in the most depressing way.

I'm feeling things I didn't even know I could feel.

I honestly think sorrow is the most atmospheric piece of music I've ever heard. This album is so damn great. I hope this goes down in history as an achievement to such a niche genre like vaporwave and I can only hope more people take this vast genre of nostalgia more seriously.

I was having a conversation with a few friends about how the perfect afterlife in case we can do what we want once life is over. Some said heaven, some said just roaming the world as a spirit. I said I want my afterlife to be lost in this big, beautiful city without bounds, in a language I can't understand. I told them I want my afterlife to be 2814. I had to make them listen to the album afterwards. They understood.

This album is just pure bliss. It almost feels like this sound is alive. The 2010's was a crazy period for electronic music. It's only getting crazier from here on out.

It's a shame that you can't buy the rainy version. The rain version definitely adds another layer of depth to the tone of the album.

Real cyberpunk

I wish people took this kind of genre of music more seriously, instead of look down on it. Honestly this type of music is so ethereal.

My boyfriend and I were listening to vaporwave on pandora and we pulled into this random parking lot and decided to watch the snow and one of the songs on the list started to play and we held each other and exchanged gentle kisses and felt like we had shut down time and the world stopped existing except for the two of us in the gentle red glow of his car dash and the snow flakes gently landing on the windows. By the time the song ended and I saw his eyes appearing as if galaxies were inside. We looked at the track name with staggered breaths... true love. funny how the world works.

I believe the train line we're riding in Distant Lovers is the JR Yamanote or the Keihin-Tohoku Line. The announcer mentions Kanda (Station) and then Tokyo(?), and since they use the same tracks she wouldn't say that you could transfer between them.

Real relaxing night music .... just lights out ....sitting alone with my sleeping cats .... imagining a future metropolis.

I go to Tokyo often, and every time it rains, I put in my pods and get lost in tokyo with this.

It's good coming back here after quite some time. It feels like coming back to a good friend of yours you haven't seen in years, but still feel in good touch with. 2814 will always remain one of my favorite groups when it comes to vaporwave.

What do I see when I look through the window? I ain’t fooled by what lies in front of me. Sometimes there’re clouds under the full moon, covering a sky without stars, but they’re just a veil. Countless neon lights, sparkling as electric rainbows trapped to convey us empty propaganda, cast their ethereal shadows over the endless sprawl down below, as if they could reveal your presence somewhere in the street maze. ‘Twas all a lie. We used to light smokeless cigs right here, in front of this window, listening to the music of the rain as it hit the plastic glass. Sometimes a ghastly fog emerged from the ground when the days were too hot and the summer storms too violent. The touch of your cold, soft hand, was the only glimpse of love I’ve ever had in this suffocating life. Now, you’re gone. I couldn’t make you stay. I couldn’t even say goodbye. Where are you? Have you ever loved me? Was your synth ‘heart’ capable of feeling anything? I’ll never know why you left me, or if you’ll ever come back. Have you grown too smart to spend your days in a crowded, old condo, alongside a loser that’ll die a wage slave? No, you’re better than that. You must be. You loved me. Or not? Am I alone, as I’ve always been? Was it a dream, as those V-trips that only the filthy rich can pay? Was it all a lie? What do I see when I look through the window? Only your blue hair, dancing with the artificial breeze brought by a broken AC. Only your gentle, embarrassed smile every time you lost yourself gazing the landscape through your crimson eyes, so full of pulsating life as you were. Only your pale skin, too perfect to be real, shaping your womanly form that delighted my sore eyes. Only your naughty whispers at my ears, provoking me with an ‘I love you’ as if you were a mermaid, dragging me to the void. I tried to move on, but there was no way. The window. It’ll ever remind me of you. I got an iron, then, so I could plug one in my brain and get away from all this. The only thing I forgot to find was courage to do it. Hope. A stupid hope prevented me from doing it. I hoped that you would come back to me someday, under a rainy night, as a last-second miracle. In the end, I was right and also wrong. Your last message saved me from my misery. I’LL ALWAYS LOVE YOU. DO IT.

Always come back to this album. It's so beautiful.

It's genuinely amazing that I've been listening to this album for 3 years now and still love it just as much as when I first discovered it. A timeless masterpiece.

This is incredible. We need more like this.

I remember finding this album 2 years ago, when quarantine began due to covid. It was a rainy day, maybe 10 P.M or so. I found the cover art interesting and so I threw on the first track, laid down on my bed, and closed my eyes. What followed was probably the most transcendent experience I've ever had in my life. Everything about this album is so visceral. It felt like I was being taken into the world of the album cover, a distant, futuristic neon city. I listened to the whole thing there, and since then its been my favorite album of all time. Every time I come back here I get to relive the magic of experiencing such an amazing album again. What I'm saying may sound ridiculous but music truly has the power to change the world. It serves as a medium for humanity's deepest desires and emotions, and can bring people together in the most unexpected of ways. Albums like this serve to bolster that idea. In any case, I just wanted to get that off my chest, and relive the magic of this record since I don't know what the future holds for me, or for all of us. Peace.

Discovered this album just about 8 years ago; was always a go-to for my own muse, to escape from this world for a bit, just let the soul breathe, and much more. An old friend of mine used to listen to it all the time and it really just lets you escape. Beautiful tracks inside and out
