If you got on X2 with the soundtrack, video, and flames, those were the golden moments. But they now removed the soundtrack and video and the fire almost never works. And for whatever reason, Its almost always closed

I went on this when I was maybe 6 or 7, was a tall kid, back when it was still just x (03-05ish). Whenever we were face up my head was smashing around, bouncing uncontrollably off the restraints. When it was upside down, my mom next to me said she thought I was going to fall out, as my shoulders were too narrow for the shoulder restraints. As long as I kept my arms on the handles I would be fine but it made her nervous, and when we went back I didn't want to ride it because I just remembered how my head slamming against those restraints felt. Kinda regret it now though, this looks awesome.

This is my favorite ride it starts backwards (most coasters start forward) seats move and also the inverts are smooth ! Overall it’s a smooth fast coaster :)

X2 might be the most painful coaster these days. Some of those turns that used to be smooth are now incredibly rough. Couldnt believe how bad it hurt my head and neck last time i went on it. I'm happy to spend all my time on Twisted Colossus, Tatsu, etc.

In my opinion best way to ride X2 and enjoy it the most.. Is to do every other ride in the park first. Save it for last and then marathon this wicked ride (ride as many times as you can take the pain lo,l usually for me its 2 times per visit tops). You can't go wrong with night rides, shorter line and more x2treme! Its truly Arrows final masterpiece!!

This is my favorite coaster EVER! The first time I went on it was close to closing time and the ride operater let my cousins and I ride it like 3 times straight lolol It's the only coaster I want to ride when I'm there 😂 Viper is my second favorite!! The constant loops are so fun, especially at night! Rode it several times at night the same day I went with my cousins!

It took me 3 years to get on X2...that scary looking!!...but once I got the guts to get on it,...I LOVED IT!!!...and I definitely got on it at least twice a visit to Six Flags M Montain, regardless of how long the lines were. There's nothing like it! And I had to fly all the way from Houston, TX.,...but still worth it!!

Are the seat rotations programed or momentum based?

So the seat rotations aren’t exactly “programmed”, but they are predetermined. The outer set of rails actually control the rotation of the seats. There are wheels that ride those rails, those wheels are connected to a rod with grooves, and those groves interact with the seats. So when the outer rails move up or down, that causes the seats to rotate forwards or backwards. It’s a really fascinating system!

@@mostly.coastersit needs to be rebuilt though. The design flaw in how it is right is the dampers the stop the spin have way to much movement causing that violent rocking. You can even see it in this video. They need add disc brakes to the trains or put heavy duty springs with big dampers to stop any shaking. Right now it's a 90s minivan with blown shocks bouncing all over where it needs ride like a race car with wheels that have minimal movement and so much damping that the wheels return to the ground before the shock extends.

This ride would injure people pretty severely all day, every day if the rotations were random. It hits 4G and if those Gs were negative, in other words towards your head, you would "red out" enough to rupture the blood vessels in your eyes or possibly even give you a stroke. At the very least you would get an instant, severe headache.

Try the Asian versions, they don't let up till the final brakes. The last stretch of X2 is rather clunky and lackluster, Eejanaika absolutely hauls through that part and turns it from one of the least impressive parts of the ride into one of the most insane.

This was a prototype that experimented with the idea of rotating seats, but had quite a few technical issues that made the model very difficult to market (only two others have been built to date since this debuted in 2002). The free spinning variant is smaller and much easier to build, operate, and maintain, and is thus easier to mass market to parks (S&S has built 12 to date after introducing the model about 8 years ago).

Back seat is the best . Ex ride operator . The front feels slow on the drop but the back seat feels the fastest since your being dragged by the whole front of the train

We need multiple amusement/ theme parks at state line on the 15(Nipton/Primm). Since the Strip is primarily a playground for the grown folks, we need something to balance it out for families....3-5 major parks down from the Strip. It could be like....another Dubai, or Orlando theme park complex.

X2, the roller coaster that is always freaking closed for some reason, and had the best part removed (the soundtrack as well as the video before you gona on the ride. Most of the time, the fire never works).

I did it when I was little and it felt way more scarier than now. It’s honestly not that bad. After doing rides like Wonder Woman and lex Luther, X2 was quite easy except for all the head shaking and legs flying all over the place. Probbaly the least comfortable ride but still fun.

I went on it yesterday, the thing that holds you in the seat was lose... It was NOT supposed to be loose, i was pulling it to me so i wouldn't have a chance of falling 😭
