Classic / TBC is so much easier to follow. Game feels slower than retail. Or idk. Can’t put it into words properly but TBC feels organized and simple. Retail is so much colors/bloat/stuns/silences/leaps/jumps i just don’t know what’s happening. It’s 100% uptime always.

the pacing of Arena in TBC seems much healthier to build a game around. Casters get rewarded with big damage but are forced to cast. Melee has limited mobility but crushes you when they connect. I think healers shouldn't oom as fast though.

Making me miss MoP so much with those shatter Frostbolt Ice lances. I wish at the very least I could glyph into the old animations, hate the newer ones.

Another big reason why TBC Arena was much more special is the fact that arena frames don't show what spec your enemies are, so you're going into the game guessing and then it changes the game up, unlike in retail where you see their spec straight away while in the lobby and can plan a strat. The surprise element makes it way more special. Retail it's just straight-up Rock, Paper, Scissors.

Tbc was the best. I was playing Paladin Back then. Reached 2.2k with Pala Rogue Lock back in S2. Good times. 10 years later here I am 3 kids, family, just watching these kids playing this and calling this weird, when retail version you get insta shot... Wow died In Pandaria, officially.

Tbc arenas are a war of attrition for most matchups. You need to use your mana and cds effectively and force the opponents to use theirs ineffectively... what you never never want to allow is them to reset or to drink back up. This was one of the reasons why hunter/Druid was such a pain to deal with, the hunter will drain you endlessly while controlling you just enough for their Druid to get away and stealth to drink.

mana burn is also a thing. I believe locks and priests can do it so a lot of the comps were about pressure and having your priest or lock mana burn the shit out the healer and they literally can't do anything thing because they are burning through their mana trying heal and burning mana through mana burn. its stupid.

In tbc u have 5 to 6 icons shows on buff and debuffs. Retail have 9999999 icons and half of it people dont know what fukng icon is that.

regardless the first game: At start u should go on priest so u frost nova war and priest, and u blanked cs priest right away so he cant dispel his nova and wars nova and u sheep him into shatter on war cuz he has no rage to reflect (lose 10 while stance changing + 20 for the reflect) if he does - u just icelance and zerg him since priest is sheeped - into resheep/fear while ur priest helps u dmg war... next is situational, also u did not use clearcasting for like arcane missile which goes behind pillar and costs alot of mana when u dueled the priest. Also once ure 70% mana u should use mana gem to top mana so u can get another one rolling earlier when ure about to be oom.

Mage 1v1 against good priest on pillar is almost always a mana game. Wait for water ele cd and send the pet while you drink. Go ham after mage has huge mana advantage. Works 99% of the time back in the days.

Wait he isn't running Winter's Chill? That's borderline trolling on TBC. Winter's Chill is like one of the best talents Frost has. 5 stacks of Winter's from a single Rank 1 Blizzard can run people out of mana so quick while they waste 4 to 8 globals (based on class) scrambling to dispel a poly or a nova masked behind a billion other debuffs. Same logic as Triune. Protects ur important bits. Also was funny seeing that Rogue tryna style on Pikaboo, it's a pretty common thing to try to open vanish sap the enemy Rogue out of stealth. When it happens it's insane, but u never risk that against a RM rofl.

What i liked about TBC the most, is that it is probably an expansion where gear didn't matter at all if you are much more skilled than your oponent. I was at over 2k rating back then, and i was very proficient in duels, i had like 50 duels a day, atleast. I played mage, ofc. And there was this one mage on my server, he removed half of hes gear, in season 3, and he still beat me in a duel. He was that good. And with any other mage on the server, except one more guy, it was very close to beat them... But those 2 were so awesome. And when i was in World PvP, i could easy beat 3-4 guys solo, if they werent rly good... Don't know if there was an expansion where you could do that...

I dunno, I'm looking as foward to TBC as the next wow afficionado, but judging by the comments people might be wearing a rose-tinted goggle or 2 right now.. TBC arena was infamous for being remarkably imbalanced. I mean, great if you're a rogue/rdruid, probably not so much if you're one of the more unfortunate classes. It's FUN, but there's definitely classes and then there's classes.

This will be fun to play for the first month arena season starts, eventually will get stale.
