Thank you St. Francis Xavier, I am Catholic today because you brought Jesus to my ancestors and baptised them in Goa. Goans call him ''Goencho Sahib", the Lord of Goa.

Didn't he call for the inquisition in Goa?, where people of other religions were tortured, killed, raped and forcibly converted? Strange thing to be thankful for.
@SD-fk8bt9 ай бұрын
@@Rohit-ir8ri St Francis Xavier was not Portuguese, he was Spanish. Spaniards didn't rule Goa at any time. So your accusations are false and at best hearsay. Secondly what proof do you have that he called for the inquisition? This is hate filled propaganda to falsely malign a man who is long dead. I know you hate Christians but it's ok, we don't hate you.

Great to rewatch this on Xavier’s feast day today. Good cinematography, engaging storyline - and Liam Neeson’s voice, smooth as fine scotch…

St. Ignatius asked St. Francis Xavier what he was going to do with his life, St. Francis Xavier would say, study and get my degree, St. Ignatius then asked, and then what?, well then get married and have children, then what?, grow old and have the respect of my family, then what?, and St. Ignatius answers for Francis, and then die, correct Francis? and then what? What of your eternity Francis? This was the defining conversation said in Spain to have taken place between the two great saints, and the questions we must all affront as well!

You found Mission St. Xavier.. As a youth you were so much like anyone else then or now,.. yet within your path and experience you were able to find no other objective greater than an apostolic journey dedicated to Christ. Today we in our time we have evolved in so many ways from the core meaning of our identity as "followers" of Our Lord and we reach out to the heavens to help us reconcile our practiced daily actions to our professed faith and just like you St. Xavier may we also embrace a path as you did.

The images here of Buddhist monks who were part of the Theravada School of Buddhism, found in Southeast Asia, casts some doubt on the veracity of an otherwise credible account of the great saint, Francis. Japan’s Buddhism had come to Japan by way of Korea, on a route out of Northeast Asia. Monks of this school wore grey, not orange, attire.

The veneration of the dead body of Francis Xavier is certainly not something Jesus would approve of as is stated in Mark 12:27 "He is not a God of the dead, but of the living". Also worth a mention are Jesus' words in Luke 9:60.." Let the dead bury their dead" etc etc.. Basically, the message is to take care of the LIVING The dead are dead, they've had their time anf don't need no help, no prayers or intercession. It's the LIVING, the poor, the oppressed, the orphaned, the sick, the widows etc etc it's them that need help and the light of the gospel. That is the true message of Christ.
@shunoinori2 жыл бұрын
You think so because you believe falsely that the saints are dead, when in reality they are alive in Heaven. Even before the Resurrection, did not the spirits of Elijah and Moses appear beside Jesus? Do you think Catholics pray to saints to help _them?_ To intercede on behalf of _them?_ No. It is so that they may help _us,_ intercede for _us,_ pray on _our_ behalf to obtain God's mercy. "The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” (James 5:16). Who are more righteous than those who have entered the heavenly kingdom? That is not to say that there is no obligation to take care of those on earth too, but to say that it is wrong to pray to the saints in Heaven is a grave error. Are you a Protestant? They have his severed arm for a relic. Compare Deuteronomy chapter 13. This worship of saints, is no different from worship of ancestors in many societies. Again the power of myth that transcends generations. The past of these people's lives are embellished to convert those who are without spiritual discernment.
@shunoinori2 жыл бұрын
The one without spiritual discernment are those who believe in the satanic doctrine of "justification by faith alone". Are you a Protestant? Please repent of your errors: kzfaq.info/sun/PLGVSKByrYzsufIKilFHFUDlvpSYFlSuvT
