I’m a Mesa guy used to run Marshall’s then went to Mesa and didn’t look back. I’ve tried Evh’s which I like but not as much as the Mesa. Used to have the Dual Rec, a Roadster, a Rectoverb 25 and a TC 100. Now I have a Mark V, TC 50, Mark 25 and a Mini Rec

I have the TC50 and had the TC 100 kept the 50. I run mine with 6L6’s though fattens it up a bit tight switches stay on I also run an eq to boost the low end a bit to get closer to the mark/recto low end

The Royal Atlantic was a killer amp. Mark Morton used it mixed with the Mark IV. Shame they stopped making it

That amp sounds sick. It’s pretty much what what all of the new Alluvial albums was recorded with by Wes Hauch, with a Grid Slammer in front of it. That album is mostly in G# on a 7 string. I could definitely hear it when you put that combo together!

@ Chris Martin that playthrough of one song with The Triple Crown ( As the crow flies) Is fire! the first record is a Revv Generator MKII, keith merrow made a Kemper pack with that album tone in there. The newest Alluvial was done with an older Dual Rectifier and the TC100 if I remember correctly.( wes did a podcast with Eyal Levi and John brown, the URM podcast) Anyway, I agree the amps smokes

Great video man!!! I believe the lineage is Electradyne, Royal Atlantic TC-50/100. Stiletto doesn’t share any of the same circuit similarities whereas the Royal Atlantic fixes the Electradyne problems and the TC-50 fixes the Royal Atlantic problems.

I've always wanted to try this amp! The only Mesa's I've played were the Rectifier series (sans the Mini Rectifier and Badlander) and I've always liked em. But when this came out I wanted to see what so different and from this video, I am super impressed!

That amp shines with 6l6. The bottom end fills out just enough and also seems to even out the top end. It’s nothing drastic but it’s definitely a noticeable improvement.

My all-time favorite Mesa family. And I’ve owned every Mark and many Rectifiers. Easy to dial in and three wonderful channels. The only thing better? The TC-100!

The TC-100 is my favorite Mesa. I use a FM3 with a disgusting amount of output as a boost. It makes is ridiculously saturated and it sounds perfect.

@@techdeathhippie6319 I shouldn't have said "better," but different. The way I think about the TC-100. It's got three tremendous channels that are easy to dial in. The Marks can technically be dialed in for more versatile range of sounds. But as you know with a Mark, you can dial in some really bad sounds as well as great sounds. I still love my MKIII that's got all kinds of factory mods on it too. It definitely does its own thing :)

@@techdeathhippie6319 Mine is one of the first ones, no stripe. It's got the R2 level mod so you can even out the volume between all three channels and Mike B. did the ++ mod as well. Closest I could get to IIC++ without spending a ridiculous sum of money :)

I bought this head and straight cab for a deal, sold the amp for the same price I got the set for, and basically got the cab for free. I didn't try it with el34's, but my block letter crushed it with 6l6's... For what I do anyway... Or maybe I'm just so stuck in Peavey lol. There were features on it that were great, the build quality was really nice, almost like a luxury amp, and the EQ wasn't extreme in a way that it was easy to ruin your tone. After a couple days, I got used to it, but then plugged in my block letter and blammo with the Mesa cab. I wish I had liked it though.. It's the perfect size and beautiful in person. Roght now, I'm comparing the Stealth with the Dover DA-50. Man... I hybrid of both amps would be awesome.. That mid-range clarity of the Dover, but the low-end of the EVH. I'm wondering if the Omega would be my thing. Maybe one day they'll make a simul-class 5150-type amp.

I've owned this amp for a couple years. A few things to note the clean channel is the best clean channel I've ever heard out of all of the amps I own you can also easily push that clean channel into a very nice crunch with the toggle. Theres a couple drawbacks the reverb and FX loop can color the sound when engaged you'll notice a small shift in the tone, it can usually just be EQed out but something to look for. The other drawback is the bass, it gets the job done but I could use a little more bass on tap. The amp also plays really well with 6L6's it definitely brings more low end and also I think the TC-100 has more bass on tap as well.

I have the TC-100 and pretty much everything you described is so true. I think it needs more low end. Also I agree that the clean is the best I’ve ever heard on a high gain amp. Only thing I don’t like about the amp is that the mods get naselly. The 6l6 sound better in this amp for sure. Helps the mid and bass issues quite a bit

same here, I've owned the Tc-50 and the TC-100 for over two years. have both and use both in band rehearsal and live. I have switched the tubes to 6L6 in both, more bottom end and through a V30 cab these shine. I would say the TC is not a bedroom volume amp as the bottom end can get lost, but at proper volumes, it just kicks ass. They also do well with a boost, i always keep the boost engaged, it opens it up beautifully.

I remember everyone demoing this thing when it came out but then it seemed to just disappear. Seems like a cool enough amp. Maybe they should have branded it as a new kind of recto and it would have done better. Who knows. Great vid as always. Keep thrashin.

With the TC-50 the treble control is super powerful, as the higher you have it the less effect the mids and bass controls have. Hence when you have it far past half way the mid control range seems to 'narrow'.

The amp sounded great! I keep telling people the TCs don’t sound like British amps. I’ve owned numerous Marshalls (have three right now, including an AFD 100) my TC-100 does not sound like a Marshall. The 100 watt version adds a lot more low-end and the dedicated power attenuators on each channel allow for a lot of tone shaping options. Swapping the EL34s for 6L6s also changes the character of the amp...adds more low end and smooths out the top end.

I was considering a 50w Badlander head for rehearsal/gigs but now am more and more thinking a TC50 would be better with its three channels, nice cleans and still huge red channel. How would you compare them? Any chance to have a comparison on your YT channel? Great job, Kyle

I bought the tc 50 and was pretty happy with it. Then I tried a Badlander 100 and I Really like it. So sold the tc to get the badlander. And I also use the duality dx which brings any amp to life. But both took all the different boost pedals I had really well. Looking forward to the tc vs badlander shootout!

Do you notice your output control having a weird sweet spot somewhere between like 9-10 o clock? Mine does this weird signal jump, it's not a smooth taper until after that weird jump.

@@markstewart8171 you need a load box to use a tube amp with an interface, otherwise you'll damage the amp. I always mic the cabinet with an sm57

@@markstewart8171 tube amp needs a load on it at all times when on. The interface does not provide a load, which is why you need a load box like a Twonotes Captor

Seems like channel 3 is a good amount more saturated than the crush mode on the Badlander. I like the tone of the Badlander, but that’s my one complaint about it, not having enough gain on the crush mode, especially considering the other two modes pretty much have the gain levels I’d expect them to.

A very underrated amp and in my opinion better than the Badlander cause it has 3 channels which all sound killer and it's midi switchable. Doesn't sound british at all.

I was thinking that 12AT7 if in V1 could be the reason why channels two and three sound clean until you get to a certain spot until it gets Saturated. I think the TC 50w sounds better than the Badlander 50w. Now the badlander with that mr scary mod sounds freaking awesome.

I bought one of these about 3 years ago. I like the versatility. It has some shortfalls. I do not understand why you bought a TC amp. I am not trying to say anything negative about the amp or you. It seems to me, (My opinion) that you would be a Mesa "Rectifier" type of player, from what I have heard. I have never heard or played a Rectifier amp. I always thought those were for the "Heavy Shredders". You play that way, in this video. I bought it so I could go all over the place. I wish I had bought a different amp. I am going to keep it as it suits my needs. I thought this thing would be easier to "Dial In" Great video. Thank you.

I think I understand now why this amp isn't as popular as it should be. It's like Mesa tried their hand at doing a Jose Mod Marshall, but the result is neither a Marshall nor a Mesa. It certainly has a nice feature set, especially with onboard MIDI and 3-channels. I'm very curious to hear it compared against the Badlander. Mesa said this has the most gain of any amps they've ever done, and yeah that 3rd channel is stupid gainey! I'd rather it had channel cloning so you could make Ch 2 and 3 sound like Ch 2 and have your rhytm and lead sound (even if that needs a boost pedal).

The amp is good with a boost and the tight switch off….it brings back the missing low end the tight switch removes.

So yesterday I choose a fillmore 50nover the TC mainly because I like to boost a vintage voice for the stoner things. However I'm probably going to return and swap. The TC seemed to get great crunch tones and it's nice to be able to breakout the chugs if need be

Yeah. Its definitely noisy as hell on the high gain channel. I really want one, because i want a mesa really bad to go with my 2x12 mesa cabs. Wanted to go all mesa really. BUT...that noisy hiss on that high gain channel will drive me crazy. Im probably better off keeping my USA made 6505+. Its pretty damn quite even with the od pedal in front. Damn...lot of thinking to do🤣🤟👍🍻

I think it sounds more like mesas version of a 5150 50 watt than a marshally type thing. I think this vs the 50 watt stealth would be very interesting.
