I appreciate their work on backwards/forward compatibility. Xbox has the best and largest game library because you can play most 360-era games on it. The Series X is a solid system and controller is ergonomic.

If Microsoft allows the next Xbox console to connect to either your steam or epic game store account and download games natively, then it's a instant but for alot of gamers cause that's basically pre-built mid-high end pc that can play most at 60fps or higher. That's allot easier than building a mid-high end pc and probably cheaper.

That’s exactly why I didn’t buy an Xbox. Most of its game if I ever would want to play I could just use my pc and with PlayStation wasn’t the case back then. (Ps5 is my first console, previously was psp)

I think the xbox series x is still a good reason to buy for the power it delivers. Games just look way better on it, than on a pc for the same price..at the cost of customization.., so I would love to adjust graphics settings on consoles a bit more.

I don't get what you don't understand. They just want to get you into the ecosystem by any means necessary. And that ecosystem isn't just console but PC, cloud, handheld....or even "rival" platforms using bait tactics.

Literally the only reason for Xbox to launch another console is if they can launch an affordable console thats 4-6x the power and has significantly better development tools, but development primarily relies on the game engines. Unless Xbox releases their own game engine to compete with Unreal, what is the point in launching another console if good games won't be developed quickly for it?

In my opinion I feel like they actually should go full speed ahead on a new next gen consoles cuz these games are becoming too advanced and more demanding every year And the current ones we have are still on par with a 2070ti like idk man

There's one massive thing that is stopping me from dropping $500+ on a handheld PC type system. The Switch successor is coming, will be cheaper, and have a very clear library of games that it will play. A handheld Xbox Series S would be a fucking dream, I'd easily drop $400 on it. That's handheld GTA6....my default system to buy games would instantly switch(lol) Could play Persona 3 Reload and every other Xbox Series release on the go. Honestly a great way to refresh a generation instead of a pro model.

All you have to do is acknowledge your classics. Imagine a gears collection to let people know you haven’t forgotten those key multiplayer games, and populate the servers with PC players so there is always matches going. Then follow up with a Halo Infinite update and season. Maybe update the chief collection more for players that migrated to the series X. Just going full speed into your games and there quality that is how Sony beat the 360.

Maybe the next Xbox console should be like a mini-pc but with a windows OS version made for use with a controller. Having Xbox games, but letting user installing other compatible PC software on the Xbox.

Sooo, I do remember Phil pencer. saying this but this was an old (not suppose to be) submitted e-mail, during the Activision acquisition trials. So even he and the MS team, today see bigger plans for the company. XB is too far behind to play catch up, but they can grow from where they stand. I do believe MS/XB can carve themselves back into gaming, whether it be via hardware/back compat catalogs/growing and innovating Game Pass, but where XB/MS has the ball in their court is through game preservation and building a solid and consistent line-up. Because when worst comes to worst, Phil did say he wanted to XBGP to be a market. A handheld could also help them.

Fable 4, Hellblade 2, and Perfect Dark were all announced in 2020. Four years later we still don’t have any of those exclusives.

I think what Don Matrick did to the Xbox brand destroyed it permanently. There's been some missteps with Phil Spencers hands off approach, but Microsoft really needs to just make something like the steam deck (though not necessarily a handheld) that uses a simplified version of windows that is easily navigable with a controller, that still gives people that living room console experience, while still allowing you to use other storefronts, (like steam). Somy and Nintendo cannot compete with them with a device like this, and that is totally an avenue for reviving their business. A rebranding of some kind is probably in order.

They’re just probably confused why they’re in 3rd place they really need to do more ads and market the Xbox for teens and it will sell a lot better.
