I bought this for storage. Great option so you dont have to delete games. You can just transfer back and forth pretty fast

I myself moved the Series X|S version of Skyrim to a hardrive and it played fine and ran well. So as mentioned only a certain number of games will be playable on a hard drive.

Theres a xbox version & a diff version ready to be formatted for Playstation, Xbox, PC, & Mac. You can store & play games only if its regular xbox one not X/S. If X/S you can only store. Therexare some x/s you can store/play. But mostly You have to transfer to internal drive if optimized x/s

Can anyone help with an issue I’m having, I set up my drive fine and it was working for a while but now when it is plugged in it only shows up when I’m in my nans house but not when I’m mine does anyone know why this is and can I fix it?

U can only play Xbox series x or s with the ssd cards only

Anyone using this drive for personal storage its a decent option. I have 2 and not using them for gaming. Actually using them for a plex server and they work great. However the transfer speeds are terrible and inconsistent. I just did a backup to one that filled it up and it took 12 hours. At usb 3 speeds. Otherwise very reliable drives and no issues other than my time.

Yes, you should be able to set the device as your default for captures in the settings.

I would strongly recommend against buying a WD product directly from WD, at least in the UK. I bought a drive for £130 with shipping included. They used UPS as the courier. UPS supposedly left my parcel on the doorstep in full view of a park that 100's of people walk through every day. Surprisingly the parcel wasn't there when I got home. WD stance on this is that because I have paid for the item and they have 'delivered' it to my address they bear no responsibility. As a kicker, they have offered me a 20% discount on my next purchase, or(get this) an extra years warranty on the item that I've never received. I've hit a complete brick wall with it now so may as well have given a stranger £130.

I just wanted to add. That isnt hundred per cent correct. You can run some next games from an external drive. I currently do. Their is no way to know if they will or will not run from the external drive. I have found this out on trial and error. Zombie army 4 dead war works from external drive. I have a few others that do as well, like rocket league

You just have to transfer it from the external to the internal and you can play it, it takes less time then deleting a game and then downloading another

Microsoft sucks another way to corner the market and force people to spend money on ssd cards if they can make a internal drive for the Xbox series x then they can release a external drive with more space than 2 teribites ....dumb

Its sad to say, this is where fony wins with playstation. As far as i am aware, putting ssd into it, is a doddle. Runs faster than usb 3 connection. Ms really drop the ball with that, considering they have been in this space for a very long time. Of course they can still use these drives as well. We are held to ransome with expensive expansion pass in comparison.
