My series x keeps closing fortnite cuz overheating

Couldn't play like 3 or 4 different games including fallout 4 but this so far has proven to work thank you 🎉

I keep my Series X elevated off the ground. By putting a little circle container under the stand which is permanently attached. This allows more air to flow through the bottom of the console. And I personally never get overheating or randomly shutting off due to overheating. It's also a day 1 unit.

Thanks. Fortnite is the primary culrpit. For those with the same issue, I have noticed that the system shuts down if you linger in the lobby where you and your squad are all waiting to ready up. I always switch the tab to "quests" where the gpu is doing the least work. If I leave the game on the ready up screen it will overheat and shutdown.

I had to relocate my xbox on the floor and the hair/dust built up so bad on the vents 😂 i hope this was the issue. Letting it cool down now.

My series X overheats when I played Gears 5.

My Xbox as started kicking me from games and a message keeps popping up telling me the Xbox is blocked and needs to cool down. It needs a good clean out inside. I’m going to ask the store where I got the Xbox from if I can open the back up and clean it or see if they say I have to just exchange it seeing as I have a year left on the guarantee

Honestly people I tryed just unpluging the console and sitting it on top of something in the refrigerator lol, make sure it doesn't get wet tho.

Yeah no it did not fix the issue. Tried cleaning, deleting games, deleting captures, turning off captures, power saving mode, blowing a big house fan on it, unplugging, restarting, moving the xbox, and more. Oddly enough its the coolest when I boot up microsoft edge of all things. I can watch youtube i guess but thats not why I bought an xbox. I thought for sure that this would be the one because I had capture issues before but idk anymore.

I would say your memory or the cpu is over working maybe you need more memory or try to find another way to save data in storage devices

Xbox always was known for having poor hardware quality vs sony! Speaking from experience also with not just those times with 360 but also series s when it came out. During 2020 covid period first one i had did randomly shut down. But this got different pros than the ps5. Is that it has the ability to play games that arent native supported on it. Through browser based cloud game streaming platforms like geforce now boosteroid xcloud amazon luna. Through the microsoft edge browser. Saw some days ago a video on youtube of some guy playing world of warcraft on it with mouse and keyboard through the microsoft edge browser

It only does this with Fortnite, I’ve cleaned most of my system with an air duster but it still does it with Fortnite

If your Xbox doesn’t need dust cleaning and the fan won’t turn on makes sure to restart the console from settings, then wait and download a game till it forcefully turns on so you can then get rid of it for something else.

I myself use a fan against the console, it helps bring down the heat 😊😊😊😊

I got the G-story fan since a week now and MW3 zombie mode hasn’t crashed for a while now, I’ll keep you updated if it keeps it like that. And good thing you can custom the G-story fan by a more silent one like noctua apparently, cos it makes a bit of noise.
