+Brian Wesley Yeah, this game is probably the most in depth Nintendo published game I've ever played. Usually they have strong, simple gameplay. It's surprisingly good, but took a few hours to really get into. (a bit after the first encounter with the sentient aliens)

Xenoblade Chronicles X is definitely my Game of the Year. A seamless open world, beautiful visuals, amazing soundtrack, deep combat system, layers upon layers of game mechanics, and a charming cast of characters. I highly recommend that you buy this game if you haven't already. On a side note, I really enjoyed this Survival Guide video series. I hope that Nintendo produces a similar video series for future games. For example, open world Zelda Wii U? One can dream.

I should warn those who plan on picking it up, this game does not hold your hand. It'll give you the bare basics, and after that whether you succeed or fail will be determined on your skills.

+OmegaMKX While I agree that most of the stuff doesn't need a tutorial and should get figured out on your own, I'd rather have a complete documentation (optional of course). I haven't played that much, but I doubt I'll ever figure out on my own what every stat does, what every weather effect does, what every single buff/debuff symbol means and so on. Maybe I'm just not looking at the right places and there's exactly what I need somewhere, but if there's not, I'm a bit disappointed.

+Sniperfuchs Oh dude. It totally has a digital manual that is actually super useful if you need it. It's quite in depth so I'd suggest going to it when a particular icon seems confusing. I had to do it to understand what certain icons on frontier nav and debuffs do. Want me to tell you how to get to it? It's super easy.

Best open world JRPG to date but it could use more storylines. It is fantastic but suffers from MMO quest syndrome. Cutscene, grind, cutscene. I would like more banter and non core storylines. That said, there is steady progression and the story content available is well presented.

+IMMentat Normal and affinity missions are fun and they have better story than the main storyline lol. Also i never had to grind in this game once and every time i do a story chapter i'm way over leveled for it. Also if u want more non core storylines then go do normal quests, there's 193 of them and they all feel meaningful when you make a decision with lots of different outcomes and twists with the exception of a selected few that serve just to unlock stuff which is good!

This explains why squad tasks felt so random. Good info. I just wish the blank tablet screen would be replaced by an enemy weak point/limb selector, sub targeting can be tougher than the combat itself.

i'm actually going for 100% so no rush here, 45 hours of play, 35% primordia, 35% oblivia, 30% noctilum, 15% sylvalum and 15% cauldros, doing side missions and exploring got my skell license in 30 minutes! Don't see why some people had trouble getting it....

Same here. I'm taking my time. I'm doing every mission I find, filling the collectopedia and sometimes I forget about the missions and go exploring a cave nearby, etc. I'm over 60% on all regions and haven't started chapter 11. I don't get why some people just rush through the story missions and then say the game has bad pacing.

worth it. but there is a chance you might get frustrated on the requirements before going onto chapter 4 and so on. I suggest you look online for that.

Of all the survival guide here, nothing, NOTHING prepare me for the Biahno Tragedy. Damn that was dark. And watching murders occurred right in front of my eyes because I was late to react. It left a bitter taste in my mouth. Great game! I was completely absorbed into the world of planet mira.

+Firestar1992 I know what quest I'm not doing... What you could try doing is initiate the battle, then hold R and press down on the d-pad to issue the assemble command, then walk towards an area where the tyrant won't attack you, then hold R and press up on the d-pad to attack.

@nintendo I cant believe you are releasing Minecraft on Wiiu this same friday and we dont even have a short video explaining its highlights and how it works on the console.

Hi um I know this doesn't have anything to do with the video but I just wanna say that I get bullied on my bus but all because I play games too much but I just tell them that they don't affect me and I've learned to not care what they say but at first it was hard and I would get very sad but I always had you to be nice to me and also k.k. Slider and my villagers then I got the best friends that are very similar to me and it is all thanks to you so even though you made life rough obviously not on purpose but you have made my life amazing a lot more than rough so I just have to thank you you have kept my life running and kept me happy
