i'm deaf and fluent in ASL, and I just wanna say that you guys DID SO WELL!!!! it isnt easy to learn asl fluently, let alone an entire song!! ANDDD whoever translated these knows exactly what theyre doing, the translation r flawless and flows with the song perfectly!! hats off to xg, I'll definitely will be stanning them for a long long time :)))) this is a huge tribute to asl, and in front of a million fans????? it means so much to me 💕

I seen one person complain saying they wasn't actually doing ASL because some of the signs didn't match what they knew. From what I understand there can be differences in signs from one location to another like how spoken language can have accents and different dialects.

@@chrislambert9903yes ! I have some basics in French Sign Language it isn't the same as ASL at all and even with other FSL speaker there's some differences

@@chrislambert9903 yes that's right! signs can be different from regions, and signs can be changed to match the context! for xg, the song lyrics cannot be directly translated word by word, so they shortened it quite a bit but the signs still make sense. anyone who's fluent in asl will look at this and see that it's translated quite well, and people who disagrees may not be fluent in asl :)) hope this makes sense!

@@faidahlawal0323 BTOB released a sign language version of their hit “Missing You” with a deaf student, video is on Dingo’s KZfaq (the choreo for the song also incorporates sign language). I’ve saw a video where Mamamoo performed a song in sign language but I don’t remember the name and I can’t find it anymore. I heard that Red Velvet also made a sign language choreography for one of their songs but I haven’t seen or heard the song. I’ve seen some people give others who have done sign language performances if their songs but I don’t remember who they are as I don’t listen to those groups.

ASL is not just about the hand movements, the fact that XG put real emotions and facial expressions while signing a song (that isn’t even their first languages) is extremely impressive

Learning sign language is not easy, let alone sign language with rhythm and melody. No doubt they worked hard to learn sign language as their fourth language. As a fan, I am proud of them.

There isn't any language named "sign language". This one is ASL and every country has its own (and dialects like in Turkiye our TID [Turkish Sign Language] depends on which city you live in I live in Ankara and it has differences between İstanbul and İzmir) Like even though British, American and Australian people speak the same spoken language but not a same sign language. If you say XG's 4th language is sign language, you're wrong because there isn't any universal sign language if that makes sense :)

As in any disability. There are many variations and levels. Some rely on the feel of vibrations, and rely on touch/feel more. The Deaf and Blind ( like Helen Keller) communicate through in-palm hand gestures, or learn braille to communicate like most blind only do using braille. There are braille laptops that can input and output in lines of braille, which is all by feel. There is an entire field of disabilities technologies. I used to go to a convention called CSUN ( at California State University Northridge) where people in government and private Rehabilitation institutions, Educators, Veterans, Company Inclusion, and individuals would come to learn about new technologies to help integrate people with disabilities and reach a better quality of life.

Yes and No they can sing Guk-Eo/Nihongo/ASL/English. But all of them can only speak Nihongo except MAYA. Harvey was half Aussies and Japanese. But she forgot how to speak English as she was growing. So basically speaking wise most of them can only do Nihongo. But when it comes to singing. That's were they all shine.

This is absolutely insane. The fact that they can communicate in so many different languages is game changing. They’re a Japanese girl group that promotes in korea, but also sings in all English and on top of that can also speak Japanese, English, Korean AND ASL. Like come on now. When they say the perfect group doesn’t exist here comes XG just proving them wrong. Props to them for do this for fans who are hearing impaired. ❤️❤️

Our 4 year old son was born with moderate to severe hearing loss, which we didn’t get diagnosed until he was 2. He goes to a school where they do ASL. He was so observant when watching this. Appreciate you all for doing this.

It's so insanely cool that they did a full ASL version of this song. When XG said they're a group for everyone internationally rather than one language, they meant it !! I also think as a side note that it's cool to see this done for such a hard and cool song too. Most people don't think of those with disabilities when it comes to powerful, sexy and intimidating themes and only imagine them in things simple and safe, but XG wants them to feel the vibe all the same :)

I'm not d/Deaf or HoH, but I am disabled and seeing a group I love not only acknowledge disabled fans but actively INCLUDE them is just??? It's so wonderful. Even within disabled communities, d/Deaf and HoH folks are so often left behind (lateral ableism is a bitch), so this is just so lovely to see. Here's hoping we see ASL versions (or non-American sign language versions!) of your future songs too!!

私の5歳の息子が重度難聴で人工内耳を装用しています。普段は手話と口話で生活している子にこの動画を見せたら、「手話かな？」と言って楽しそうに一緒に踊り始めました！ ASLは分からないけれど、息子には何かが伝わっていて、私の大好きなXGの曲が難聴の息子に届いた事が本当に嬉しくてコメントしました！多言語の中に手話を入れてくれて本当にありがとう！

PS: In deaf community, we refer ourselves as either Deaf or Hard-of-hearing as we preferred over the term of “hearing impairments”. @@89wicky Thank you so much. Outside of KZfaq we define him as being a deaf child. I stated "Hearing Impairment" because that is the term Simon had used before in an interview. Also, I've actually heard the opposite from others in the deaf community. Many don't like the term "hard of hearing" and prefer hearing impairment. But I guess it could be different depending on the area you are from.

In my country we have an ASL called "LESSA a.k.a SSL (Salvadoran Sign Language)". I swear that Juria´s part was similar to the LESSA language.

最近、耳が聞こえない女の子が主人公の漫画を読みました。その漫画の中にも手話が沢山登場していて、手話への興味が高まっていたタイミングでXGがこの動画をアップしてくれて、すごくラッキーです🍀💖手話で会話すると、相手から目をそらすことが出来ないんですよね。

手話は表情も使う言語。普段から表情管理素晴らしいXGちゃん達が手話するの凄い合ってるね。これ見て思ってた以上に振り付けに手話が盛り込まれてたんだなぁと思った。

wow. i can hear just fine, but this is the first time im seeing a group put in so much time and effort to be inclusive. asl mustve been a challenge to get the hang of for this, and i think its rlly cool to have it for people that are hard of hearing or deaf. so impressive, especially considering theyre all pretty much trilingual

As a hearing person, watching this with the sound off really made me appreciate the nuances of their non-verbal communication. Each member seems to have their own “style” of signing and their facial expressions say a lot too, especially Cocona. She’s fierce! Maya’s signing looks so crisp and sharp, just like her rapping. Everyone did a phenomenal job. Bravo!

The amount of love and respect I have for XG for making this video. Learning sign language is difficult itself but also signing to a song. Imagine the amount of time it took for them to learn it. It’s incredible how much effort they put in to their music for their fans. These girls deserve so much love and recognition.❤

I’ve never seen a entire song performed in ASL until now. This definitely required a lot of learning and practice on the girls part. XG are really something else true queens in the industry. Too much of the world sleeps on these Xtraordinary girls but those missing out will wake up one day 🐺

i took ASL last year for a semester so i was trying to see if it was accurate and while im not fluent , a lot of the words did match the signs. im so glad they did an ASL version so its more inclusive !
