Glad to see you back Jordan, this video itself has a really deeper meaning. To breakdown symbolism that used in this video for you first off we all need to understand XG’s lore first XG themselves represent themselves as Wolf Aliens and their fandom is “Alphaz” which is wolf. So all the mask you saw any fashion related fangs/ wolf ears / tails all accessories already selected carefully. XG represents Mouth (communication/singing / rapping) Audience represents Eyes (to see / perceive) Half headed person represents haters / brainless (people who sleep on them and look down on them) At first glance you can see half headed monument which represents netizen these day that they always judge idols / having surveillance drone around themselves and try to pin point anything wrong or don’t fit with their narrative. The monument itself is huge and stand right infront of Simon Jakops like the statue looked down on him. This half headed statue can also represent people who are brainless and self centered too. The concept of this mv is about destruction, context of this mv is to destroy all the idol’s stereotypes. You can see all members break something / Jurin wearing American football outfit but also wearing skirt and breaks through the walls(i feel it represents men’s sport is not for women but XG will change those ideas) / Cocona cutting her hair with concept of idol’s hair stereotypes, hairs play major part as personal identity but Cocona shown that even i have no hair or breach my eyebrows i’m still myself/ Maya(the person who wore glasses in courtroom said i’m the Judge and Jury) - in this room there are no Judge and jury only herself and audience which mean she’s the only one who has authority to judge herself not by other people that she did right or wrong with her own choices. That’s only a glimpse for now. I did a while analysis on Twitter since this release but because i’m Alphaz that’s why i understand almost everything 🥹😅 casual listeners might not be able to catch all the symbolic subjects in here since there’s so many thing happen here. But that’s why it made this MV so interesting l!! Not only because of crazy visual but also crazy hidden meanings too❤ hope you take a look and maybe can appreciate this mv a but more 😊🙏🫶

@@12345678abracadabra Simon is not the director though it’s Cho Gi Seok who directed the video, i believe these are heavily leans towards his vision more than Simon. How it works on pre-production process is the label just discussed and gave the song to the production team and maybe explain what kind of concept they are looking for. Most of these symbolism i think came from director’s side more than Simon. Also i’m art director and i see this through my art perspective you dont need to agree. We can interpret this mv however we want, art is subjective 🙂 i won’t say i’m correct. Just the way i see it 😂

Although I acknowledge that going bald should not be a revolutionary thing, we have to take in the context of what it's in, which is the idol industry. An inustry that takes control of too much to make their idols look beautiful and perfect. Cocona's cut may be performative but it strongly sends a message. No bald caps, no wig cutting. Straight up being a badass.

This music video is POWERFUL because it tells a story about a wolf pack, XG, and their leader, Simon, who starts things off. They confront a leader full of stereotypes, portrayed as a mindless, self-centered president with a headless tower and a worshipped portrait of him. Each member of XG, along with the masked wolves (probably, XGALX team) attacks the tower from different angles, showcasing their unique personalities and strengths, and leaving a clear message about their talent and power as a group. "Woke Up" is definitely XG being true to their brand in the music scene, breaking stereotypes, making a big impact, and being Xtraordinary as always. 🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺

I think the monument he said looks like King Kong... actually looks like part of a head... nose with two nostrils, mouth, chin, and base as neck. Looking at an upward angle. Also, the man in blue suit with half of head in Maya's part in MV represents corporate music executives and haters who doubted them and their ability to perform rap, R&B, and Hip-Hop genres. There were some things you were able to show that I didn't see before

the view counts and their talents are VERY heavily skewed against them. not gonna even talk about the group themselves, just the song itself is one of the best so far in 2024. hard beats with crazy raplines, but i guess a full hip hop rap song will never generate as many views as Pop songs in general. but thats what i like about XG, its not all about what is the most popular, they do whatever the hell they want. about the video, thnank you so much it was very insightful and i have subscribed. keep it up! lets go XG!

People should never compare XGs views with K-pop groups. K-pop does “massive” ad payola and a huge % of their MV views are inorganic. The actual verified data is out there on that. That’s how K-pop MVs always get those 100000000000000000 views. XG ranks at the top of groups with “organic” views. XG also is not backed or supported by knetz and K-pop fandoms whose literal lifestyle is 24/7 streaming culture. XGs fandom also skews older who don’t “stream 24/7” (families/careers) unlike most K-pop groups whose fandoms are much younger

I think the scene at 20:44 is they're keying out different sections of both shots, then just fading them in and out. The other effect they put with it I think is some kind of warping effect but I'm not sure what it's called. It looks similar to that effect that like, crushes an image into itself that a lot of people were using for memes a few years ago, but only using it very lightly. Looks almost like an artistic filter like a paintbrush filter might have been used a bit as well. I only do casual editing so I might be wrong but if this answers your question or gives you an idea of what it might actually be then great!
