@@jayzee2404 wait, didn't the documentary already mentioned @2:46 that they're independently doing the work? That means AVEX has no control on XGALX. AVEX probably just provide the funds in order to pay their employees and projects. AVEX provided the supply of idols through their academy. That's just it. But the one's creating XG's brand and image are the Korean and International staffs of XGALX.

Thank you to AVEX and Simon. XG (/ɛks-dʒiː/; acronym for Xtraordinary Girls) is a Japanese girl group based in South Korea.[1] The group was formed by Xgalx, a subsidiary of Avex, and is composed of seven members: Jurin, Chisa, Hinata, Juria, Cocona, Maya, and Harvey.[3] They made their debut on March 18, 2022,

What I grabbed from this intro is Simon's vision is "why not?" Why not challenge and cross boundaries, why not cross cultures and music and not be limited to one genre or country or culture. So for those hating, just realize, XG, Simon and that whole team (everyone involved in this team) is a combination of everything we love in culture and music. (there team is international) Let's just appreciate that they have a vision to challenge the box thinking. This mindset opens the doors for everyone too. And there's no need to ever hate on young artist,(anywhere) no matter who they are, they are young artist who love music and just want to make it and these girls of XG's talent and work ethic can not and will not be denied. Any issue folks may have, they need to look at the leadership, and that's why I respect Simon so much because he's not afraid to take on that responsibility and share his exact vision with us. That's a leader, that's vulnerability and transparency. That's also why this group is so special, unique and Xrtra-ordinary and has capture global attention. As a 90's music guy, I am truly excited and happy for this team, Much Love XG and the whole Team! Alphas Keep Rockin! XG we love ya.

I agree with you, but I think the backlash that you called unfair is actually not. It isn't neither fair or unfair, it just is. Given that Korean as well as Japanese people are both very nationalist, and the sad fact that Japan attacked, invaded and colonised for a significant amount of time, there indeed are reasons for Koreans to backlash the XG girls. They are only a piece of a complicated geopolitical puzzle. We as an audience of entertainment cannot ignore that Korea has pushed the kpop scene for decades now and that this business strategy involves politics, too. Or didn't Avex's CEO worsened the problem by stating that they used Korean people but the profit would be entirely japanese? Again, I agree with you, but although kpop sometimes tries to make us forget reality, let's not forget that lots of people are involved, not only XG and us Alphaz. Sorry for the long comment haha and sorry if I misspelled something Edit: I'm excited to see what's coming up on this documentary thingy!

@@michingones9 idc about any of that. There were extremely xenophobic and racist remarks made towards the girls and it was totally uncalled for. What they faced was TOTALLY unfair and a narrative was spun heavily against them simply because Harvey said that her Mom was her inspiration and she didn’t name a Kpop artist. And then getting tickets to their music shows to intentionally stand there, not cheer for the girls, and create a black wave?! The girls did what exactly to deserve any of that? Nothing at all. So I stand by my statement, and I hope that everyone who criticized and scrutinized them will hear the respect that Simon was paying the Kpop industry, and watch the documentary with an open mind towards the girls.

the team handling XG is no joke, they literally express more effort than what we usually see in a label. that's why from now on i will glue my eyes on XG's growth. they are the future indeed and will pave a way that no one could think of in the grand scheme of kpop and idol culture in general. Fighting!!!! Edit: and with the extraordinary skills that the girls honed from those 5-6 years, they make quite the team

As someone who has enjoyed both K-pop and J-pop since 2008, I believe that XG is on the right track to become the next big group. I have noticed that the Japanese people, in general, have a natural talent for friendliness and adorableness, which is great for their interaction with fans. Some Japanese idols even believe that their fans are like gods. However, the idol industry in Japan does not prioritize delivering perfect performances when it comes to singing and dancing. This is where the rigorous training regime of the Korean idol scene, which emphasizes perfection and synchronization, comes in. By combining this training with the natural talents of Japanese idols, XG has a lethal yet effective formula for becoming the next huge girl group. This is evident in their pre-debut content as well as their latest comeback performances for "Shooting Star" and "Left Right," which are always perfect and well-executed. The last girl group that I truly supported was Girls Generation, and since then, I have not found another group that intrigues me as much. Although there are many talented artists and idols in Kpop, XG, as a whole, has impressed me with their sincerity and passion in everything they do. As a fan and an ALPHAZ, I hope the girls understand that they have our global support and that they can spread their wings without fear, enjoying all the memories they create along the way. This is just the beginning, and I look forward to XG's bright future! To all the talented XG girls, stay humble and adorable. Lots of love to all of you!

True, Jpop (not idols) generally focus on music and singing but not appearance or dancing, while J idols focus on personality (likeability) not on singing or dancing because that's what music artists and idols are for, except some hip-hop groups in early 00s and non mainstream Jpop groups (although they don't consider themselves as idols) which international audience has no access to or even average Japanese audience won't know unless they love music and purposely dig in. Now since we have XG that does everything and all members are musically so talented, I'm not sure if we should call these girls an idol group... Even though they don't write music themselves but to me they are at the same level as any established American music artists out there and if they keep doing like Left Right they don't necessarily do idol stuff like they're doing rn but could focus more on music and stage performance. Just saying...

Yeah, J-Pop is known to take more charisma and personality in consideration. It's more about "solo stanning" and catching the fans with the sweet, girly impressions to their boat. It might fit in asian style, and surely does it for Japan, but not for the rest of the world. K-Pop on the other hand goes full on with perfection, a basic skillset (in singing and dancing) and good stage performance/MV to get fans into K-Pop. The K-Pop girls seem cooler and fresher with every new generation and tries to fit into the vibes of taste of the audience and the upcoming trends. But also K-Pop are more open to the world than J-Pop is. They do more Ads, offer more English subtitles to interviews and might as well do world tours. In J-Pop it's very much harder to find decent subtitles to Interviews, which is - as I think - a hinderance for J-Pop as well japanese artist. What brillance about XG is that it brings together both musical view and importance in skillset and personality. And that is probably the most successfull recipe in this era. And I think there might be a few surprises in the future. I doubt they showcase every of their strengh yet. (as I reference to the lyric of XG's Tippy Toes: We're on the rise, you ain't seen nothing yet) And we do have Simon, who has obvious the bigger picture in mind. And I do think he plans in advance.

@@Moonchild0 I think people are confusing idols in Japan and idols in Korea. They are not the same thing, you are right about j idols who are more about having fun and putting on a fan experience rather than actual singing and dancing. However, Jpop has a wide range of artists and labels have been training their talents to sing and dance well before the hallyu wave e.g Exile, AAA, Koda Kumi etc. They are not considered idols in Japan but would be considered idols in Korea. People see XG as something that could only come out of training in Korea but that is absolutely not true, not only did they also train in Japan but there are lots of artists in Japan who can sing and dance just as well and even better than XG ie Miura Daichi, the man is god of talent and just drips talent in everything he does. Jpop is not just idol groups like AKB and Johnny's. XG is not considered an idol group in Japan but are considered a pop group. XG are still awesome though and bring out their own uniqueness with every song. Also, Japan has the 2nd biggest music industry in the world so they don't see the need to export or make their content available outside of Japan.
@Tz3952ii
@Tz3952ii Жыл бұрын
@@Moonchild0 Idols in Japan isn't really for listening to their music but for 'oshikatsu', the fan activities. They choose on purpose the average candidates who aren't fully developed in skillset and the fans support them and watch them grow into a star and such idols are just a tiny part of music industry in Japan. Also, the reason why we don't get to see much of j pop scene is because they don't care international market like south Korea does. Their domestic market is huge that they still probably make more money by banning access from outside Japan with their strict copyright laws while Korea's market is small so they had to promote globally by making their contents available free on KZfaq. They started to do that right when Japan took down all MVs that had been uploaded on KZfaq even city pop songs were being kept deleted until only recently and the music from 90s to 2015sh are still missing. And it wasn't only for music but most Japanese TV shows aren't still accessible intentionally, so many people have to use VPN to see Japanese contents. I heard even the Japanese people are blocked while traveling abroad even though they subscribe to those Japanese platforms I believe only Netflix Japan makes their contents available to the international viewers.
