Not in this situation or with this model but after getting an overview from the site, I'm impressed a person noticing a design flaw with a cast-iron that bends under heat and pressure and then goes out on a crusade to design and CNC the part and also produce it for others and make a tutorial so the average skilled consumer can DIY repair a Chinese product that is difficult to get any service for, here in the west. internet repair community at its finest. Thanks for the video, i read about it last night in a forum and wanted to see how complicated it is. It is quite a video, and of course difficult. I don't hsve that problem yet. But my projector when starting is really loud and I hate the sound of it. I thought that were the fans but I saw you changed yours and no differences so, there is not a simple way to reduce the noise from the projector at all, right?

Hello @nikos do you know any place where we can purchase parts of this projector, i am not having this issue but having issue with color, there is green/purple tint in some scenes with bright light, maybe because of faulty optical engine.

Nice work. Quick question as I couldn't make out in the video but can you remember if the fans used standard fan headers? Probably not work the risk of opening it up but wondering if its viable to replace the fans with higher quality ones in an effort to reduce noise.

Things like this are what's stopping me from buying a chinese UST projector at the moment (+ the coil whine). You would think one of the designers/engineers would have fixed this plate with the new models but as I've read in your post this doesn't seem to be the case...

I had this same issue after some 1.5 years and the boot time for the projector was approx 4 minutes with vertical lines which will eventually disappear in 4 minutes when the projector warms up. I ordered the contact plate from Nikos & it reached India in 16 days. I just followed this video and the repair is quite straightforward, however its not very easy as well. The repair needs Philips head screw driver of various sizes, tweezers, and some plucktrums. There were few difficult places, but otherwise it can be done by anyone with some little experience with electronics. After replacement, the projector works as new and no vertical lines of what so ever. Once again thanks you Nikos...

To everyone out there facing this problem with vertical lines - try to tap/move a bit main cable in the middle to see if it does not help with the problem (the one being lifted at 7:38 of this video). I have got the better part from Nikos last year, but eventually the problem reappeared. I did dis(assemble) this projector about 20x by now, and currently tapping cable is what fixes the problem for me, and making sure it is not pushed by anything when assembling back. I have the 2019 version. A week ago the projector started to reboot itself. Now it completely gone off and doesn't power on anymore... DMD Plate problem, or a Power Supply failure? Any ideas? 🤔

looks like heatsink grease on the dmd chip....if its dried out could cause the overheating and warping issue.

Have you failed to mention if there is a screw underneath the product label in the centre (where the model number and serial numbers feature) purely because i have got to the stage where you disconnect the top and its met with extreme resistance in the middle part of the projector 😤 Many thanks in advance
