I was stock between Samsung S21 Ultra 16/512 and Mi 11 Ultra 12/512.. But i had a firm decision and bought last August 4, 2022 and it will arrive this August 16, 2022 for only 40, 400 Php (728USD).. And I am so excited to receive it.. What attracts me is the price and the rear display can shoot video already. I bought also vimble 3 for vlogs.. I am sure i rarely use the front cam since the rear is really useful.. I can capture high quality video and photos.. Mi 11 Ultra for the WIN!

Must be honest I rather like Miui, and find it much nicer than stock. Two years of updates is woeful though. Other than that, I love my 11 ultra. Nice vid Bud. 🔭

I personally enjoy MIUI (redmi note 10 pro user here) although I wish it was slightly more complete and with more usefull features. Also, I'd like Xiaomi to pull what Samsung did, offer more years of major OS updates, maybe 3 for redmi/poco series and 4 years of OS updates for the big players (xiaomi 12 series, etc).

what you missed with the rear display, is that you can customize it deeply AND that you can control your music with it+ it serves a camra monitor function for Vlogging for example. and it can show notifications. these ALL come in handy when you got a flip-cover case, and dont want to pick up,open,unlock and swipe just to read what message you gut 😊 as for me i keep my phone face down on the table, thus enabling me to receive messages even with the phone turned off and tightly closed. thx to the second screen. it is truly not necessary. but it REALLY is a nice to have adittion to the already godlike experience of this phone that i imported for roughly 600€ a week after its chinese release. and since mi 12 isnt REALLY an upgrade from my beloved mi 11 ultra, i guess i will come back with a mi 13. (hope that they ditch qualcom on that one....battery life with snapdragon 888 sucks, 8 gen 1 made it worse and heats even more and 8 gen 2 promises to become no better... all while mediatek puts out chality chips...) by the way i like the MIUI ☺ other than ANY other vendor customized interface, this one looks very nice, is highly customizable, AND feels snappy and useful. oh and if you need a "third party rom" that 'extends the support'and adds improvements on top of miui all while staying true to the phones nature: check out the xiaomi.EU project 😉

Yes, it's true. Now, We can record a video in each lens ( wide, UW, Tele ). Now, we can use 8K selfie video by using a second screen 😁

@@Roomer645 Yes, I was thinking about an iPhone and than again not because it's an iPhone 😂than the S22 Ultra but than also not because of the charging speed and still software bugs. I'm not worried about the battery life from the Mi 11 Ultra because of the charging speed - had the Mi 10 Ultra two years ago and never had these issues. 😎

@@sladi2007 I have an iphone 11 from work and hardly use it. Never was tempted to buy one ever. Using the ROG 2 512GB now and love it but i do want a much better camera, better display and something that feels new. Will miss the huge battery for sure and everything works (from Android Auto, Gpay, etc etc) but it's time for a change. Waited for the 12S Ultra after i didn't like the S22U Exynos version we have here and the slow charging and not great batterylife. The 12S ultra is kinda dissapointing now and too expensive at 1300 Euro's for what i get. The 11 Ultra is much much cheaper but i do worry sometimes about the software (i have no MIUI experience), batterylife and it's future due to the fact that it's almost 18 months old ....

If this had 120w charger like 10 ultra, it would have been perfect. Price of 22 flagships are brutal and.I went with 11 ultra as a result. Hopefully it comes this week.

Great phone and a beast camera. Downside for me is the UI. Although it has pros for customization and features, I would have love if it could have a stockish feel ui to it. Aside from that, the mi 11 U is an awesome phone that goes on par with the flagship Apple and Samsung

It has the MIUI 13, Android 12 and will get the MIUI 14 based Android 13. The features will be fully customizable, just like an iPhone style with the iOS 16.

it's 600 usd now, 100 cheaper than the s22, and a few hundred less than the new OnePlus. it's a great phone and this review didn't focus enough on the fact that the competition are twice as expensive now, but not twice the phone. and also "software support" outside of Samsung and Apple is comparable to most android device besides the pixel.

All I've got is buff/film protector and that too of OnePlus 9 Pro 😂 Also it's tough to get get since the screen is rounded from all fours and ones you'll get online give no guarantee whether or not it'll fit perfectly. Isliye kabhi order nahi kiya.

I might have gotten this phone but unfortunately I've read a couple of negative comments about it. I've seen people say that after they've owned the phone for a while, it's becomes quite warm, it becomes heated and long term wise that isn't good for the phone internally, after the inside of the phone is affected they've been unable to use Wi-Fi. I've also read something about the touch responsiveness of the phone, when you are scrolling, the screen freezes altogether, you're not able to interact with the phone at all. As far as a long term option for a phone, I do not think this is it, if there's anyone out there who's had a good experience all round then please et me know which ROM you're on or how you're keeping the phone cool and if a phone cooling case exists, thanks

@@RhydianMerlin If you have'nt got it yet, I don't think there's a point to get one now. There are better options in the market. As for the heating issue, yes, the phone does tend to heat up when the brightness is cranked all the way up or there's some heavy app running, or you've been using the camera for too long. This is majorly due to the SD 888 and also the screen at the back. Having said that, I've been using a Rhinoshield case and tbh I've never experienced any issues with the usage due to the phone getting hot. Also never had any problems with the screen responsiveness or freezing. The phone runs as smooth as the day it arrived. Have been using MIUI 13 EU Rom. Hope this helps!

How long have you owned the phone by the way and I'm guessing it's not something you'd recommend overall, is the battery any good, does it usually last a day at most? I'm guessing it depends on how many apps you have downloaded too ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ When you say there are better options on the market, do you mean at the same price range Mi 11 Ultra is at? I'm looking to see if there's a phone nowadays that has both IR blaster and a mini screen on the back like this one, it something that kinda excites me about buying a new phone y'kno? I've seen some issues with that phone but I've googled fixes for the potential problems I might come into but RhinoShield (does RhinoShield stop it from heating up or are there better case cooling options out there?), that one I wasn't expecting to buy but if it works and allows the phone to last long term instead of the phone heating itself up from the inside causing damage to the hardware then please do let me know or about any other options that could help me out. Btw, does rear display work fine, like there's nothing wrong with it, it shows the time, date, weather and for example WhatsApp notifications just fine? Thanks so much again for replying!

the cameras on this phone are it's biggest selling point, and the negatives mentioned about the device are things you get used while using in the hand feel and software look side. so all in all for 650 bucks for QHD, 120hz HDR 10 , 10bit color panel and SNPDRGN 888 plus a sick camera setup with all manners of large sensors and megapixels and optical ranges covered, quick charging speeds, wireless charging, really good speakers , premium feel and ceramic back... what I'm trying to say is if your looking for an expensive phone with all the goodies you can expect and usability overlooking that it's software looks in some parts like IOS then you don't have to spend 1000 dollars to get it ... you'd be happy to have this phone for years to come. my impression was also that the cameras were not up to flagship level... they go toe to toe with the s22 ultra ... don't believe me ...?look em up on KZfaq

The Control Centre can be disabled to have a more Android feel. Additionally there are now some AOSP roms released for this. Pixel Experience and Evolution X. Had mine for a couple of weeks and love it. Feels really special in the hand, pictures don't do it justice.

Custom Rom is really good thing with Xiaomi phones but the only problem with them is Camera for me. They provide very basic AOSP camera which is not very good and if you go with gCam, it's not very reliable. That is the only thing holding me back to install Pixel Experience on my Xiaomi 10i.

@@PointlessYTV Some port the MIUI cam but it's rare when there's a complete 100% effective port. Some features are not on pair to the original cam.. or is lacking.. Hope this dev done the job right, though.

Had it for just over a year now, imported the Chinese 512gb/12gb ram version for 850£ when the 256 "global" versions were being sold here in the UK for 1200£. I have exactly 0 interest in buying a new phone, this device is still such an overkill. Photography with it is amazing, especially in the pro mode with the main sensor. I reckon this device is futureproofed for at least another year, and I mean top-of-the-line futureproofed. With Miui 13 they added the video preview to the small screen in the back and generally fixed all and any bugs the phone may have had up till then, it's properly matured now and blazing fast. One gripe is I wish they sorted out gestures support on third party launchers, would be really great, even though I don't have a lot of complaints about the MIUI either. In addition, the phone tops up in around 45 min with the wireless 67w charger and about the same with wired, not entirely sure where you got the 1 hour and 20 mark there.

Looks like you have convinced me to buy. Was contemplating buying the 12 256Gb 905CAD about $700. Two very important features that i can't do without. IR BLASTER AND SECOND SPACE. Would have to pay extra ,50$ for shipping.

the display corners are like that because its a cheaper manufacturing technique, even if u look at a samsung note 10 plus u can see how samsung uses a more expensive more refined manufacturing technique by how bezelless the display is and how sophisticated the display and bezel curves are, apple and samsung make phones that are like pieces of jewelry 🤔 these shinese companies can't compete wit that

The corners are this way because actually the manufacturing process used is more difficult. The phone actually has curved glass on the top and bottom as well as the sides. The corners are that way for strengthening. And having just got this after having a Samsung S22 ultra.. this phone makes the Samsung look and feel like a toy.

@@paulrgod ur wrong dude, it's the same reason why most phones have a thicker bottom bezel, it's super expensive to make a simetrically curved display wit simetrical bezels all around, the 11 ULTRA has a cheaper design
