This is the best mopping robot vacuum cleaner, part of Xiaomi’s ecosystem. Question is - can it achieve the same grade of success as the Roborock series?
Great build quality, and it feels solid right from the start. Weight is around 3,3 kilograms, which is almost as much as the Roborock S5. In fact you will notice a lot of similarities - again - a single side brush, a w-shaped main brush, which is excellent for carpets, and the big country wheels which enable the Viomi to deal with really high obstacles, even up to 2 centimeters, which is absolutely fantastic!
We can notice the many sensors - and of course - there are such to detect nearby objects or stairs.
There’s of course LDC - which scans the cleaning area and helps to create a digital map.
Now, the most intriguing part. You receive the V2 Pro with three different dustbins. The dry Bin is inside the vacuum already, and there are two extra bins, along with the cleaning mop clothes in the accessories assembly.
Let’s mention some technical specifications - 2100pa suction power - one of the strongest suction parameters on the market. However - it has no carpet sensor detector. So you better keep it at the top power mode in order to get more dust out of your carpets.
The battery life per cleaning cycle varies between 80 and 150 minutes depending on the cleaning mode and the surface. That’s a good amount of time, considering the fact it is not a chaotic robot - having maps and laser detection usually makes the cleaning cycle optimal, and reduces the time to clean an area - sometimes drastically! To sum up the hardware specs - not perfect, but very good, not a flagship, but certainly at the top end of the midrangers.
Now, the real-life experience has shown me that sometimes assuming things based on origin and specs of the devices is not a good idea. I assumed that it will be a cheaper and better Roborock. It has a lot in common with the S50, that’s true! But it has really a lot to catch up with about software…
let’s begin with the cleaning performance. It’s excellent. I think it handles edges and furniture like chairs - better than the Roborock. Suction is great! It’s strong and stays constantly strong during the time of cleaning - because it has no carpet sensor. The Roborock S50 boosts the performnancve should it sense a carpet.
But my initial rise test has shown something that I wasn’t expecting. Check out the video for more details…
One of the features I really like is the option in the app to clean an area twice! Firmware updates, scheduling, different sorts of config; there is nothing about the sensors state - a feature that many people like about the Roborock, which we so much compare to.
As mentioned - the strongest side of the vacuum is the ability for wet mopping, and for sucking and mopping at the same time. For around 350 dollars - it is clearly better than the first gen of Roborock, has the best mopping function in class, three bins - one for dust, one for water and one hybrid, integration with the Mi Home app and most of the good functions that we like from the Roborock Series. iRobot Roomba quality at one third of the price!

Please dont buy the big water tank (V2 pro). Easily rust n whole tank cannot be used. I had this n within 1.5 mths i changed 2 big tank. Then finally the technician told me to get the 2-in-1 tank cos no more rust n can use. No refund back my SGD80 for purchasing the 2nd water tank. Till now i am still very sore over this.

Excellent review, thanks! I find that pulling out the tank doesn't spill because it rotates upwards as it comes out so that the hole faces up.

I have one and I want to say how much I love my vacuum mop I think it is excellent I have it set certain times of the day and my house is clean all the time I have birds and they are quite messy with their seeds and I never come home to a messy house anymore so easy as well the mopping is really good the function on my floor very happy and recommend for anyone who wants to have a nice house and not have to clean

At 7:12 in the clip, you mentioned that you could not get the Mi Home mobile app to work. I found out that it only works on 2.4GHz WiFi. Once I turned on that frequency in my access point, vola, it works seamlessly. Thanks for sharing your video.

What a nice finding on flaws in design of a dust-only tank! Btw the pretty much the same device but called differently (Xiaomi Mop-P / Mijia LDS / STYTJ02YM /STYJ02YM ) is sold under Xiaomi brand itself and it costs just a tiny bit more 2 hundreds bucks.

Hihi! This is a great review, and I'm currently loving my Viomi V2 pro. But I cannot find the function on my Mi Home app for the robot to mop in the Y manner like yours at 3min50 sec. Could you guide me as to where I can find that function in the app? My robot only goes straight now when its mopping :(

viomi update new firmware today . now it support multi floor map, voice change , can set vacuum ,mopping or both when using 2 in one tank . it almost perfect now

@@brbcp5984 did you upgrade new firmware released last 2 weeks ? if yes . map collector must be turn on . bring the robot to the floor you want to map . let the robot finish cleaning . go to setting click on map . you can see the new map . click edit to name the floor . on the bottom click on set the current map . the robot will work on the current map . everytime you change the floor map you need to set that floor to the current map .

HI. I want to tell you about the problem of the central brush. The problem with the main brush.Viomi Cleaning Robot V-RVCLM21B and Robot Vacuum-Mop P STYTJ02YM. The main brush stops when the vacuum cleaner is on the carpet. After two minutes it starts up again, but after another minute it stops again. And so constantly while the vacuum cleaner on the carpet. There is no such problem on the floor, the main brush works continuously. In the "remote control" mode, the main brush does not stop on the carpet. The problem is not only with my vacuum cleaner, other robot owners Viomi Cleaning Robot V-RVCLM21B and Mijia Robot Vacuum STYJ02YM reported the same problem on the forum. Model: Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop P STYTJ02YM. But personally, I experience such a problem with brushing, even on smooth floors, such as tile laminate and linoleum. The brush stops after 1 minute, and starts after 2 minutes, and such a cycle throughout the entire cleaning Do you know anything about this problem? The fact is that the brush works non-stop in the control mode.This problem is only in automatic cleaning mode. Please give me an answer regarding this issue. I think this is a problem in the firmware.Thank.

I imagine a piece of small flexible plastic over the dust bin hole would allow the vacuum to operate properly and not allow small things to come out.

Thank you for the great review! Hesitating between the new 360 S6 Pro and Viomi V2 Pro. I understand the 360 has a better vacuum performance and the app is great, but mopping is not as good as Viomi. Or maybe that is still sufficient. Any advice?

Put some disinfectant or mop solution directly onto mop wash pad instead of inside the water tank

I have no idea how to schedule the robot vac. The instructions say it can be done, but does not say how. Can someone let me know please as I cannot find anything anywhere on how to do this.

Yeah - you can go to the Mi Home app, select the vacuum and set the scheduler up.

If I don't want to use the mop feature, I don't use water in the tank and the robot just works, right? Or the robot has a function like, water tank empty and doesn't work?

robot does not know the water tank is full or empty . but if you used 2 in 1 tank and you dont want to mop just don't put the mop pad and set the robot to vacuum only

there's no need to use the mop. the standard dustbin is only for dry cleaning anyways :-)

Haven't tried the Roborock S6 yet. As compared to the S5, I still prefer the S5 because of the better battery life. The V2 Pro is way better for mopping, but I rarely use that function.

What about the physical dimensions of the V2 Pro ? Is it smaller than the Roborock ? If not can you recommend a smaller robot ? I need one because there are some places in my apartment, like underneath the couch, where the Roborock just wont squeeze in. So I need something with a diameter of less than 31cm and the roborock is just a few cm larger.

Size is almost the same. I have the same kind of area under the kitchen furniture, and because the height is comparable - it is not much of an improvement. Will be testing another interesting one soon, and hopefully it will have better dimensions.

Don't need leave it on charge. Sometimes I'll turn off at power point when it is 100% charged and I turn of wifi too. Switch off robot with power button

One issue with the design of the water tanks (both dust+water and water only tanks), is that the little water hoses constantly leak a bit a water. The fact is that the hoses are little hole at the bottom of the tank where you pour the water. The motor seems to simply take some air from outside and blow it inside the tank to force some water through the holes. I guess that this design is very durable because you should not get scared that pipes or motor will be full of calc and get stuck by it, but it means that you can't let it rest for too long wait a tank full of water, because it would slowly leak.

Yeah, lots of these vacuum have the issue. You can buy a pad that can be installed around the station to avoid issues caused by the water.

I have both. Earlier model has better battery, but as a plus it comes into play if you have a really big spaces to clean. If we're speaking about somewhat less than 100 sq m it doesn't really matter - they both will do the job. Old Xiaomi model has much more different sensors, like wall proximity sensors on its sides, but in real life the newer models which doesn't have them do the job alongsides the walls pretty much the same. Mapping feature of Mop-P is a killer, sucking are the same actoss pretty much all the models

This is my first robot vacuum cleaner. I am using it for a year, but I definitely don't recommend to anyone. I have issues with it from the first day. It randomly suspend the operation for no reason. I need to start it over around 8-10 times per cleaning. The water tank now also stopped to give water. So don't buy it, it doesn't worth the money it cost.

That's bad experience. Did you try getting in touch with the VIomi support? I am using it on a regular basis and never had such issues.

They've done a firmware update in late May, which breaks the mopping (not dispensing water) and breaks the navigation (can no longer point to certain rooms on my map for targeted cleaning. On their Viomi Tech facebook page, on 22 May: "Hello, We are in the last phase, finalizing and testing. After that we will hand it over too Xiaomi. From that point Xiaomi will schedule it to be pushed to the users in batches." So I would strongly discourage buying this product. Definitely not worth it if they can so easily break the firmware and 8 weeks later, not fix it.

... well review nice vid, however this robot (viomi pro2) for me it's a big disappointment, on ceramic tiles the wells don't move forward, it loses traction on areas where the mop passes. Even with minimal the robot stay stuck in the same spot . Results very poor cleaning. Can someone relate this issue? What to do to make the wells work on ceramic tiles?

Check the sensors at the bottom - might be that there's some dust inside a sensor or that something is stuck.

@@TechMishka Hi thank you very much for answering. I have already do that. I mention that the device is brand new. This error it's for both functions: Vacuum & Moop (2 in 1) and Moop It works only in vacuum mode. I don't know what to do :(

I am disappointed that I bought Viomi v2... 10 days of using it suddenly the error doesn't want to vaccum, it's just mooping.. I sent it to the official service for 5 months and they said they didn't know how to fix it, you can imagine the technician was confused and my product was returned without success. It's better if the Mijie G1 from Xiomi is cheap but the quality is much better

Yet another week without a patch for the hideous bugs that slipped through on the V2 Pro 4 months ago. I've been a huge Xiaomi supporter. Now I discourage everyone from buying Xiaomi products. With such poor development support, anything that you buy, can be broken by incompetent developers shortly thereafter.
