Hello, Very good review! I am interested, but there is one thing that is not clear on the website page on Viomi. What type of UV lamp is used for the UV-C type? Because UV-C is the type of lamp that is effective in eradicating bacteria and viruses, please help with this info.

We just got ours yesterday. Not sure if we got a dud but it worked intiially straight out of the box, ran out of charge in 20mins, put it on charge and its been sitting on charge for almost 24hours and wont charge any more than 15%. Not to mention when we try to turn it on we get a billion errors about cleaning sensors, changing main wheel etc. Didnt expect so much trouble with a brand new product on its first use.

Will it empty itself mid clean when it's full and then get back to cleaning? And can anyone tell me if it empties pet hair well?

I have a large carpet in my living room and I don't want a dirty mop over it of course. I know you can forbid the vacuum to go on the carpet, but of course I do want the carpet to be cleaned. Otherwise everything is clean except the carpet. Is there a way to program the vacuum to first only vacuum a) the carpet or b) the living room and afterwards mop the floor except the carpet? Thanks!

Hello, one thing I don’t understand :) does the self empty base also have hepa filter ? if not doesn’t it defeat the purpose of the hepa filter in the robot ?

SO far EVERY review I have seen does NOT show how well the robot dustbin is emptied into the external tank. This suggests to me that performance is not good and the HEPA filter is still dirty afterwards. Reviewers must be hiding something if they do not show this obvious aspect of the self-emptying performance.

Hi, my xiaomi mi-robot 1st gen and some 1st Gen roborocks have a problem (mainly on carpet) where every 5-10 minutes they stop with error 5 (please remove and clean mainbrush). 95% of the time the main brush is not obstructed. Xiaomi and retailers refuse to address this problem, which, in my opinion could be resolved with a firmware tweak to adjust/calibrate the roller motor controller. My question is...viomi s9 being developed by xiaomi and having the same error library... Does it suffer from this trait aswell? If like to buy the s9 but not if it has the same problem. Thanks for your time.

Thanks for your reply. This problem is well documented on related forums. Some units develop the error after a while off ownership, some from New like mine. Does the viomi s9 ever stop cleaning with the error 5 message?

@@6hostsurfer myself I never encountered this message with any robots I've tested. The very first mi robot was made by Roborock for Xiaomi...and ofcourse Roborocks first bot was the S5.. it was also my first one I've ever got..it still runs daily at my mom's house..except for occasionally losing internet connection (doesn't have to be a problem on robots side) it still works good. This robot is made by viomi. being partners of Xiaomi and able to pair on Xiaomi Home are the only things Roborock and Viomi share:) Same goes for Dreame, Roidmi and others:)

Xiaomi mop pro is similar to Viomi V2 (same specs) which was Viomi's first LDS robot. Performance wise the so UV picks up more and has some more features. But I can imagine you don't want the selfempty dock station due it's space.

Why we can't add phenyl/ disinfectant or any cleaning solution in water in its tank ?

It would ruin your floor. The lamp does a great job without causing problems, making stains of bleach the carpet or wood.

@@kingcobralive3081 Because desinfectant is a kind of bleach. Due to the pandamic and everyone desinfecting their hands, almost all floors at my work are ruined. If it comes on the floor again and again and again it will ruin it. Unless perhaps you have tiles. But wooden floors, pvc, laminate, carpet all can't stand desinfection products. In the video they tell that the machine can't stand it either. I want this machine for the UV light. All insects, eggs etc on the floor and in the carpet will be killed that way, also under the bed. Way better then trying to beat them with a fluid, which will evaporate and what you will breathe in.

@@iprinceza_ het ligt puur aan wat je wilt eigenlijk. Zo heb je een Dreame robot die supergoed kan dweilen. Het oplaad station heeft dan een waterbin (schoon & vies). Veel robots kun je water in een bin doen dat aan de robot vastzit.. Je hebt robots met een camera die heel goed zijn in het ontwijken van spullen op de grond. Heeft je moeder naast tegels en laminaat ook tapijten enzo...dan is de Roborock s7 weer handig ..die kan de dweil optillen wanneer deze over tapijt gaat. Het belangrijkste is eigenlijk..welke soort vloeren en je budget:)

Toppertje! Wij hebben eigenlijk overal pvc laminaat, dit zullen tegels worden in de toekomst. Gelukkig geen tapijten ergens in huis! Het budget zal 600 euro zijn. Hebben alle stofzuigers zon zak? Ik denk dat dat een afknapper voor haar zou zijn.. die zakken weer apart kopen etc.

@@iprinceza_ tegenwoordig komen veel met zon grote oplaadstation . Daar zit dan een zak in. Het is idd een nadeel dat het weer extra geld kost. Voordeel is: minder schoonmaken dan een robot met een dustbin ingebouwd. Met huisdieren kan die aardig snel volraken. Robot heeft met regelmaat onderhoud nodig (schoonmaken, dweil wassen, borsteltjes haarvrij maken en door slijtage ook vervangen etc) .. met 600 euro kan je iig een hele goede aanschaffen.

Yes , true..but you can turn it the dustbin vacuum off when you clean at late or very early hours :)

Yeah... for 1 minute. Is that such a big deal? 1 minute of loud noise while it empties? Just don't schedule it in the middle of the night while people are sleeping.
