This pair has potential. Zhang is a figure skating institution. He will take part in his 5th Olympic Games and maybe still in his 6th Games. I think it was the right choice to seperate the team.

Zhang is an excellent skater, who used to be on top of the game. But when it's time to retire, he should retire, not destroying the future stars. This is the 2nd time he destroyed a team. Remember Peng used to skate with another excellent partner, who had to retire because Peng had to train with Zhang for Olympics in 2014.

Zhang is just doing weight lifting here-- has nothing to do with artistic expression. glad that Cheng Peng is free now, sadly Yu Xioayu is the new sacrafice.

Couldn't agree more.....YJ is the truely matched pair, no others can replace any one of them. The Chinese figure pairs team leader should have been considering more deeply instead of emotionally making the decision which is such a dame!

Cannot agree more. These two are simply separately from each other. Look at the other pair now, Peng is much relaxed now in the interview. You can tell from her express that she's much happier now. I believe Peng/Jin would have bright future, but it's unfair to Yu. They used to be such a talented pair, definitely worlds/Olympic podium material.
