XINJIANG CHINA: Unbelievable First Hand Experience!!

Xinjiang is an autonomous territory in northwest China, with vast region of deserts and mountains which gives it an amazing scenery. It's home to many ethnic minority groups, including the Turkic Uyghur people.
The ancient Silk Road trade route linking China and the Middle East passed through Xinjiang,
Xinjiang, China has always been a controversial topic in most news outlets out of China.
As a foreigner living in China and exploring far and wide, I’m in Urumqi, Xinjiang to share my first hand experience and reality on ground.
This video is made at the Grand Bazaar in Urumqi where there are lots of businesses, sales, singing and dancing activities happening. Enjoy!

It is well known that all public signs and most private signboards in Xinjiang are bilingual in Uyghur and Chinese. Unless it is trilingual in Uyghur, Chinese and English.

The ethnic minorities in Xinjiang are Hans Huis Kazakhs Kyrgyz Tajiks , most majority people there is Uighur, which though had been "genocided" in the US's news reports, they still have 14 Million population, tripled during the PRC time.😅

Willene: First of all, thank you for all your videos. I really enjoyed them. You have such a great personality that everyone gravitates towards you. I would too if I saw you on the street. You should charge 5 yuan for every picture request; you’ll make more than enough to pay for your trip and all the food. I can see many happy people in your video, the Uyghur culture everywhere; the clothing, the hats, jewelry, artifacts, the food, the dances and much more. I just have a few questions: 1. The western countries claimed that there are 2 million repressed Uyghurs in various internment camps? How come you didn’t show them? 2. Where are the factories with forced labor and forced child labor? Why do the Uyghurs in your video look healthy, dressed nicely, friendly and obviously have money to spend ? 3. Can you show the schools that are forcing Mandarin on the students and not allowing the Uyghurs to learn their own language? 4. Why didn’t the Uyghur cops racial profile you? You would be a great target; with those shifty eyes, dark glasses, big smile, saying Hi to everyone and videoing. But They seemed to just friendly patrolling . 5. The businesses ( the restaurants, stores, booths) are owned and operated by Uyghurs. Is that correct? Business seems very good to me. 6. Your video showed many, many people on the streets and inside the bazaar. They all seemed to be very friendly and happy. Are they real or just putting on a show for you? 7. And why do you keeping showing all the good food in all your videos; everywhere you go? I get so hungry watching your videos. All those food look so delicious. 😉😉 8. And lastly, that shirt you had on looks really nice on you. Did you buy it in China? Thanks again Willene. I absolutely love your videos. Excuse me for being facetious with my questions. I just don’t understand why the west keep making up things and spreading rumors about human rights in Xinjiang, even today.

Dear sir/madam, before you ask those questions, please think about if the news from west media was true, why don't Muslim countries report that. Xinjiang people are Muslims, too. If the so called "genocide" or "forced labours" does exist, those country, such as Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Arabia and so on, should jump out to protest strongly, but they didn't. Consider why.

@@asherwong3031 If you read my comments carefully, I clearly stated that I was being facetious. That means that I know the rumors from the west are false about Xinjiang as I have seen it for myself. I visited Xinjiang years before the pandemic and Urumqi was thriving and prospering then. And seeing this video now, Urumqi is more prosper and more beautiful. And the Uyghurs are as friendly and happy as I remember them to be. I’m planning to make a trip to Xinjiang in the near future to explore other areas that I haven’t been to before. P.S. unless you have read and heard ALL media outlets from ALL the Muslim counties (50+ ), you really don’t know what have been reported. It’s only your conjectures. ✌🏻✌🏻

Not with a local, not with police. There are police of course but they’re just there. Nothing much to do. I haven’t had any experience of racial profile. So many businesses here. Okay, so not much reporting on cost of accommodation today, but perhaps you can tell me whether it's easy to rent an apartment in Xinjiang for a month or so as my plan is to stay a month or so in as many cities/towns as possible during my trip to China sometime in 2025. So it’s like this everyday as I went there on a random weekday. Lol. No idea about renting for now as I only got a hotel temporarily. It’s so easy to find your way! Once I’m done with this trip I’ll try to make a video guide. Hopefully that helps. 🙏🏾😊

Xinjiang is too large, with highways between various regions ranging from hundreds to thousands of kilometers. Living in a place for a month is not the most suitable way to travel in Xinjiang. I suggest you prepare a driving certificate that can be used in China. You can rent a car from Urumqi and travel around Xinjiang for two months
