Join me as I continue travelling through Xinjiang, this time I'm in Kashgar in the south of the region. I've wanted to go to Kashgar for years, specifically to see the Ancient City of Kashgar. From its bustling main street, to its serene back-alleys, this place truly is beautiful. I meet a few of the locals, speak to someone who grew up in the Ancient City, sample the freshest pomegranate juice I've ever had, and also show off my terrible dancing skills. Apologies for said dancing skills.
Next episode: I go to Xinjiang Naan Bread Heaven!

I shared this vlog on my FB account right after I saw it which got me excited! Xinjiang is defo on my list to visit. It's interesting that China bashers most of 'em have not even been to China before. I visited China twice before the FB era when they still used cash. From my observation I'd say that issues like Racism is just NOT in the psyche of mainland Chinese, since HISTORICAL times if you may. They have better things to do! I observed that they are really RESPECTFUL to different religions I remember seeing a 'halal' section in the university canteen. The CCP being Atheist does NOT mean the people are Atheists, it just means that the CCP is NOT interested to focus on the religious dimension. Don't be NAIVE, GROW UP, And look at where China is now! There are 54 ethnic minorities, and there is No need for #StopAsianHate #BlackLivesMatter or equivalent, they do not need these things. China is so vast that the not so nice experience one may have of China, is just 0.0001% of what the whole experience could offer. It is unfortunate that some remain fixated on the misinformation.

@@DonaldGTrump I think you're just being sarcastic here but for everyone who doesn't know, the residential schools were the real "re-education camps" that the west claims China is running. They were basically camps designed to "wash away" the indigenous culture of children across 7 generations. They were run together by the Church and the Canadian Federal government and were the sites of tortures, abuse and sexual assault. Children were not given permission to visit their parents unless under special permission and It is estimated that over 6000 children died which are only the documented deaths. Last week, a mass grave of 215 indigenous children (youngest being 3) were found in British Columbia and they are believed to all be undocumented deaths. This can hardly be considered history as the last residential school closed in 1996 but the effects are still felt by the first nations people to this very day.

Here in Canada people are blindly accepting 100% and pushing the uyghur genocide story. I just came from another video where a politician was outright confronting and forcing another on video to make a stance on condemning this “genocide”. Comment section were all applauding and thanking him for doing the right thing for Canada. Frankly it’s sickening. I try to think that there are people that are more open minded but right now this is political correctness for the west.

@@tulukdek8898 even I am confused so I have a question, have you ever seen a country that commit genocide? Like Israel on Palestinians , Myanmar to Rohiniya, USA almost every year, just look how disastrous and awful pictures come from those areas. If China would be committing any genocide in Xinjiang, so you think Xinjiang would look as beautiful as it is. Genocide is big thing, it disturbs the entire country, but Xinjiang looks more beautiful than most of world. Looks at India’s Kashmir, how painful pictures come from there, although there is no genocide is going on Kashmir, but hash crack down on separatists. And look what Kashmir has became. China openly agrees it is also fighting separatism in Xinjiang but does it look genocide. Western media claims and compare Uighur genocide with Holocaust, does it look like Holocaust? What is happening in Israel Palestine is all clear. USA backed Israel army is bombing missile on families of a Palestine. Can any country declared it genocide? Irony is these countries who call them self defender of human right are the biggest threat to human right. I am not Chinese IT cell member, and I support Uighur rights. Thank you for sharing! I've never seen Xinjiang before, only eat in restaurants by people from there. The kids who shared the candy is a bit gross though, haha

For all non Chinese speakers, 8:14 gesture means "ten", bcz often, it sounds like "four" in Chinese, esp with accent, so in order to differ from that, the seller uses fingers to cross to mean 10, that is also how its Chinese character "十" is written.
