Track 1 is written by Jon Dal Kristbjornsson.
Tracks 2 and 3 (Exuding Titleness and Pentagonal Dreams) are written by necros / fm.
All songs here were covered by me, for The 8-Bit Guy's new port of Xixit for the Commander X16, an 8/16-bit home computer meant to be a successor of sorts to the Commodore 64/128.
Note that the music here will sound different than in the official emulator, and possibly different to real hardware as well. The official emulator sets the VERA's levels way too low, and I've been told that real hardware sets the VERA's levels way too high, I'll have to find out when I get my dev board. The music presented here is mixed (and by mixed I mean chip levels) exactly the way I heard it when I composed it in Furnace.

Soundtrack-wise, I'd like to imagine the DOS version being the Super Nintendo version and the Commander X16 version being the SEGA Genesis version. Great job with the cover. 👍

After spending hours listening to both the DOS Soundtrack and the X16 Soundtrack, I can definitely say the X16 Soundtrack is the better version and you pretty much improved Track 1 in every way.

Andrew Sega who did the music originally was the producer for my favourite band Iris from 2002-2022, as soon as I heard the music for Xixit I liked it so it was funny to find that lmao

All I need now is for someone to add the VERA "soundchip" to the VGM standard and make some VGM files of these! Exuding Titleness in particular is beautifully done and dare I say better than the original, which is no small statement as it's a Necros track!

Or get a player to add ZSM format support. That wouldn’t be too hard to add to libvgm - the VERA code is pretty simple.

Wow! How does snair drum sound that excelllent e.g. at 3:33 ? Back in DOS time I remember percussions in FM on SoundBlaster or Adlib never reached such perfect level compared to wave samples!

Most Adlib soundtracks were MIDI, and those MIDI patches most of the time weren't good.

I find myself wishing I could use Track 1 (or part of it) as my KZfaq/Twitch channel theme. Do you think you or The 8-Bit Guy could point me in the direction of who I'd need to talk to in order to do that ? (For context, I'm going to be starting releasing videos again soon, and I'm also live on Twitch - though obviously not using this music yet for a theme)

Sorry for the late response. You could try looking around for necros / fm but I don't know how much luck you'll have with that. I never was actually in contact with necros but rather David acted as a proxy in conversation.
