you can run the tractor in high range 4WD. the front axle gear ratio is different than the rear to compensate for the tire size difference.

Great video and very thorough. I just got my first LS about 6 months ago. I had many of the same dislikes you do. I went and had them fill the rear tires with beet juice and air the tires less than max. The extra weight and lower pressure really makes the ride much smoother. The weight of the juice is has really increased how much I can lift with nothing on the back. My loader operation was less than stellar at first. But the more I used it, the smoother and more responsive it got. Also, you'll never regret the canopy purchase!

I'm glad to see you guys found something that will work for you and that Wanda is comfortable operating. Something you might want to look into is that I've seen people replace the rubber bump-stop that the seat sets on with springs to soften up the ride a little bit.

Wanda, an easy way to remember the bucket control's is to think of it as a seesaw. if you push down on one side of a seesaw the other side goes up. same with the tractor, push down on the lever and the bucket goes up. I use to train people on heavy equipment and that was the best way I found to help people remember. y'all enjoy the tractor.

Wanda, think about that lift stick being all the way extended to the bucket. If you push down, the stick is going to lift the bucket. It's like a fulcrum. Get you a cinder block, set it on the ground. Put a shovel across the cinder block. Now push down on the end of the shovel handle. See?. Up goes the shovel blade. That in mind should help you think about the up and down direction a bit better. :)

I had neck surgery back in 2008 and I have 2 nice lite neck braces and you are welcome to have them if don't own one. They're very good to keep your neck in right position DANNY JUST LET ME KNOW IF YOU WANT EITHER ONE. I have a long neck like you so the larger size would probably work just fine and they're adjustable for tightening or making it looser too! God bless you you both 👍👏☝️🏡🇺🇸🗽

Do not hang a weight on your boom pole for normal operations of your tractor you have to have a weight that has a low center of gravity otherwise you will flip the tractor over if you cannot afford to purchase a proper weight they are pretty easy to make

For a smoother ride let some air out of tires, that will help it won't be as rough on you, here we let air out and it makes a lot of difference hope this helps ( on our hay equipment)

Hey Danny, look under that thing and see what kind of fan setup it has for cooling the transmission. It should have about a six inch fan on the driveshaft that blows air on the hydrostatic trans, The Kubota tractors have plastic fans. What happens is in tall weeds it breaks the fan where it mounts to the shaft. Just something to be mindful of if yours has a similar set up.

one thing I do NOT like about those sun guards overhead is==you got to watch going under trees etc. on my John Deere I broke one when I was mowing and they are NOT cheap! Also Danny--you might want to wear a light neck brace when on that tractor to help with the shock on your neck---God bless!

does! this tractor have a frame, a lot of tractors built in Europe do not have a frame and some have broke apart when pulling them out of a bog they are bolted with the transmission bolted to the bell housing and the differential and the cast iron will break apart, so make sure the tractor you buy has a frame

Great review guys! Danny, I'm so glad you're putting weight on the back end of the tractor. I was concerned about that too. Danny, I feel for you with it being so rough riding. My electric wheelchair is the same way on uneven surfaces. It just kills my bad spine. Wanda, you look as pretty as a picture on that tractor. I can already see you're learning a lot & improving. I've had my J2020H for over five years and it's never had any trouble at all. I wouldn't want any other brand of tractor. Oh yeah I have 833 hours on it. It can plow snow that's two feet deep with the bucket. I bought a six foot wide extreme metal product's snow plow. Oh yeah on the joy stick my bucket floats if you put it all the way up. You might want to put on wheel exspanders. Makes the tractor more stable and I found smoother.

I have had this same tractor for about 8 mths now one thing I found I didn't like was where they key is. I'm a bigger guy and when I spin around in the seat when backing up I found my knee hits the key and bends it, I'll be looking to move it in the future.

Danny I would get rid of those turn buckles and buy or make the kind New Holland like I have has, they are on the outside and all you do is pull a pin move it were you want and replace the pin, there are multiple holes so one hole will always work

I've owned this tracter for 4 yrs now, I totally agree with everything said here, but dont underestimate the toughness of this little tractor, i have put it though hell, aside from a flat tire or two I've not had on single mechanical failure with it. Has it done everything I've asked it to do? No.. But it has exceeded what i thought when i bought it. I have the backhoe on mine, in the video he says how he used a boom for counterwieght i leave the hoe on and it gives the nessesary weight to hold down the rear, take it off you cant pick up very much in bucket. the motor vibrates more then it should, cant keep the oil dipstick in so keep an eye on it.

Adding water to the tires will also help to keep it from bouncing so much. But if you are in a freeze area look into those other ballist that have lower freezing points.

I have been looking at the LS tractors for a few years. One thing I don't like, like you mentioned, is the joy stick for the bucket. They used to have one mounted very close to the seat where you did not have to reach up. It had a nice fat top on it with a diagram of which way to move the stick to work the bucket. The new ones look really cheap and thin. Also the fuel tank used to be mounted behind the seat or under the tractor where you could reach it from the ground. I am glad I found this review though. Very good review.

Good review and Thanks for sharing, I see a few things that are different on the LS, I guess I didn't think about it too much but for some reason I thought all hydrostatic throttle feeds were rocker pedal, toe down for forward heel down for reverse, I think the two levers would be more difficult to operate if they are variable control. Danny if you are looking for a counter balance for the front bucket you could use a metal 45 gallon barrel, poke a rod through it for the lower arms and another for the top link, can fill the barrel with metal or rocks and add some concrete makes a nice counter weight and also a bumper with a low center of gravity.

Hey guys/gals nice rig! I have the same tractor. They are a excellent little tractor and a really good value over the competition. I also did not like the way it was "bouncy". Kinda felt too light. My dealer here in Canada loaded all 4 tires with beet juice(generic rimguard). It added approx 500lbs to the tractor and since it's mostly in back I no longer need a counter balance on the 3ph. The extra weight settles down the ride quite a bit and it doesn't freeze in winter(good to -40 C/F.). These rigs plow/move snow quite well also. Only other thing I don't like is fuel fill location and key/signal location(I'm 6'4") and smash them with my knees. Other than that the are nice rigs. Keep up the good work!

Nice little tractor. I have a 2001 New Holland TC33D just a little bigger than yours and I really like it. Mine has the rocker pedal instead of a 2 separate pedals for forward and reverse. I like the rocker better because I have 2 independent brake petals so I can use the brake to make tighter turns.

Stop at a kioti dealer and look at there seats... You may be able to change yours to that style... It will improve the ride 100%. One more thing... In your book for the tractor... It says not to run it in 4x4 in high range?? All tractors have different size tires.. I've never seen one you could not run in 4x4 high range... Mine never comes out of 4x4...

I have difficulty getting it into and out of 4 wheel drive. The key location sucks, Bent one over already. I am going to cut the key off ans weld a flat plate to the end so it does not stick out to be bent over. The tractor seems to be a good tractor (purchased last fall.

I have a Case 25B Farmall here in Tasmania, it seems to be the exact same if earlier model of the LS discussed here and keep doing the same Uri Geller key bending trick on mine too! Seems they make it out of the most malleable and soft metal they can find! What a stupid place to put it too, right where your knee can knock it when getting on and off. Another bad piece of ergonomics is the siting of the battery, right at the bottom of the radiator, you have to move or remove both the the cooling overflow tank and horn to remove it for maintenance or safe charging, very inconvenient! Apart from these niggles it’s a great platform for the 60” mid mower for my 5 1/2 acres, The front end loader hasn’t seen much use over the last 6 years but we are moving to a new property where it will come in handy, along with the 4’ box blade to grade the gravel drive. The comments on the harshness of the ride are pretty spot on too, we have partially addressed this by running the tire pressures a lot less than recommended at around 15 to 20 PSI.

Almost think you got the tractor for doing the review vid. Gender-oriented, Danny doing all the mechanical benefits (impressed with the features shown ...), and Wanda doing all the warm-fuzzy features. DDDD Just change out the tilt handle problem. Switch the hydraulics (blue to yellow, yellow to blue) fixing the up/down handle issue. Get company to do the change out, under continued warranty. Purchase modifed hose lengths and fittings if needed. You need a bucket seat with foldable arms, and a higher back and neck/head feature on it - no bouncing up/down/all around and jostling the body. [Ride a camel and see if your aren't prepared for the ride - it will tear you apart with all the movements.] Then install custom shocks, and cushion the ride - another company install. Also have some greater rubber bumper and spring shocks under the seat - reducing the beat-down effect on the body. Downsizing downsizes all your other equipment - train pulls box car, pickup truck hauls horse trailer, not vice versa. The turn buckles were installed inside the downsized frame system, eliminating being torn off in the smaller space between tires and frame. Modern tractors are the new wheelbarrows, lawn mowers, rototillers, discers, seeders, DC blade tractors, road graders, bicycles/motorcycles, ox/cow/horse wagon, snow plows, snow blowers ... of our ancestors ... Look at a Bobcat and you can see all the same options with their vehicles. Over-using the smaller tractor, with offset back weights to do the same work as a bigger tractor is not reality. Tractor downsizing dictates its operating performance. If you are digging and you butt flies up in the air, you are working the tractor beyond its limits. Overwork means eventually tearing apart or early destroying the tractor for the sake of (previous large tractor) work and time schedules. Downsizing means less heavy single work, with more and lighter work movements. Make adjustments on work and time schedule for downsizing changes. More small hand shovelling than larger, bigger, heavier single backhoe digouts. Save yourslf, your body, your tractor, the work chores, ... and your wallet the later expenses of repairing a damaged tractor, and anger-frustrtion-stress of the whole disaster. If anything for ride and weight suspension, then consider recued tire air pressure, softer drive, but greater wear on tire walls, or West Coast (?) fill tires with water (you are in the non-freezing south). Heavier front tires gives you forward weight distribution and control. Water-filled back tires removes entire backend weight system. Consider wearing back/waist brace, and neck brace if that helps with the tractor movements. And Danny ... get off that tractor ... thats Wanda's play toy ... Yee-hah! Country girls love to play in the dirt ! Tractor is already named (!). Girls playing together in the field.
