Suaoki G7 600A 18000mAh Peak Portable Car Jump Starter Battery Booster Charger for SLR Laptop
www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0...
www.amazon.com/dp/B015O7AK62
Another Christmas gift idea - a rugged looking, high capacity power bank with lots of lighting modes, USB charge outputs, a multi-voltage output and car battery jump start capability. Unfortunately, the multi voltage output is limited in current and doesn't seem to like inductive loads.
Note: Some items in this video were supplied at no cost.

After being stuck with a dead battery, I'm in the market for one of these. Amazing how they can fit all that power into such a small unit. I will soon sadly retire my trusty jumper cables of 30 years.

Ive had a Suaoki T3 for a year or so (think that model is discontinued now). It has very similar specs although isn't rubber coated, just has LEDs to indicate the battery level and output voltage (no LCD) and only has 1 USB port. When I bought it I was dubious as I'd never heard of Suaoki, it's still going strong and survived a month starting a car with a naff battery daily (yep, it took me a while to bother replacing the car battery!), it needed charging every 3 to 4 days doing that! The only issue that I had was the air compressor died; a couple of emails later and Suaoki sent a replacement out from China which arrived in around 1 week (to the UK). Moral of the story, Suaoki make pretty decent gear and have great customer service; if my well used T3 ever dies I'll most likely replace it with another Suaoki jump starter.

I like the looks of that unit. That said, the last one you reviewed a year or so ago looked so good that I purchased one. I wouldn't be without it, absolutely love the little guy even though I have probably as many little battery packs as you. While I have yet to need to start my Motor home with it's 8.1 Vortec engine, I have used it on my wife's 4 banger and it started her Suzuki just fine, I tried it on my 5.1 L Ford Pickup, again it worked OK and my little lawn mower starts every time when hooked to the battery. So I do like it, and have used it on plenty of projects as a power supply when I am to lazy to find a wall wart for the unit in question. Thanks a Million, without your channel, my credit cards would be wasting away with no usage, but when I see something on your channel you make them look so fun, I have to go out and buy one. Sadly that had to come to an end this winter, as due to my good wife of 46 years health, we headed South before the snow came. She is doing great here in Arizona but I don't really wish to change my paypal address so I can have my Ebay purchases sent down here, and I can't see myself building circuits on the leather couch in our Rexhall Rexair 35 foot Class A Motor Home. Ah well you do have to give up some things in life to enjoy others, and I would much rather have my good wife with me for a longer period then play with my arduinos and esp8266's, LED lights and battery banks. Again, thanks and have a Merry Christmas and my the new year find you with many new toys and more videos for our entertainment.

My DBPower Jump Starter (exact same screen and input/outputs and buttons as the Suaoki). Using the output jack for laptop to power a .15A computer fan, it shuts off after 30 seconds, like it's in a power saving mode. Maybe it needs more amps to keep it running. If I plug my phone into one of the USB ports and the little computer fan at the same time the fan continues to run.

I think the 12V motor needs at least 7 times current when it starts comparing to the standard current when it runs smoothly. That's why it triggered the protection.

I would hazard a guess to say the smart cable does a test to see if they voltage is correct then latches to the green, ON state. Thusly the red text is saying: don't connect incorrectly after it has latched green because the protection is off.

The DC motor in that air pump is 20 watts WHEN RUNNING. Startup current on a DC motor is much higher than running current. I'm not surprised that the 2 amp output can't spin that up. If you have a SPDT switch and get the air pump running from a serious battery, the 12 volt output of the Suaoki *might* keep it running. Having had tube type 2 way radio gear in a '57 Chevy (with the 250 volts for the radio produced by dynamotors) I'm very aware of the DC motor start vs run power requirements.

I wonder if that box on the croc clip leads has a big shotky diode in it so that the alternator can't try to charge the LiPo up to 14.4v. That's the only thing I'd be concerned about, on both mine and my mother's cars the battery voltage is up to 14.4v within about 10 secconds of starting the engine.

Thanks Julian! Great review thus far but incomplete. The main function of this device is jump starting which was not tested. Video left us hanging with a couple of good unanswered questions at the end about charging the car battery and jumping with car battery disconnected. Also their claim of starting a 5L gas and 3.5L diesel motor 22 times on one charge should be put to the test. What percentage of reserve power is used after each crank? Will you be making a second video on this device? Please?

Actually i think that the indicator on the car jumper cable is a car battery voltage indicator... you first hook up the crocodile clips to the car battery and if the battery is ok to be recharged or for a jump start, then you hook the XT60 connector to the battery bank :)

Hi, i need an advice. My problem is, that i need a pair of decent 18650s, but which ones to obtain? I know that samsung ones are pretty good quality, but it might be worth buying a powerbank, that already contains a pair (or even more) of 18650s. So should i buy the batteries separately, or should i go with the power bank? And i was going with the powerbank, which one should i buy?

+Tamás Pogány thats pretty much how my mp3 player lives(probably my oldest lithium battery device left) , i bought it in 2007, and its still going, though yes ive heard staying at full shortens the life, but isnt everything designed to fail inside a few years now?
8 жыл бұрын
+jusb1066 But those are low current Li-Po batteries. This is a high current, special Li-Po, used in RC quadcopters too. It can, and will supply ~150A when you start the car, unlike what is in your mp3 player. Correct me if I am wrong, but storing those kind of (high current) Li-Po batteries at 100% charge are bad.
@vgamesx1
@vgamesx1 8 жыл бұрын
+Tamás Pogány I don't know about it being dangerous but, yes litium batteries don't really like heat or being fully charged for long periods of time as it'll sort of cook them (I don't mean hurt anything) and won't last quite as long as if you consistantly chargered/discharged them, for long term storage they should be roughly half charged at 3.7V per cell so they'll lose the least amount of capacity/charge cycles. (about 5% after a long while of not using it)

jusb1066 Depends on the plane you're referring to, for example if you google "lithium battery ban on planes" then not too long ago batteries were banned on passenger planes as a massive fire hazard but of course most of the reason for that is because the majority of people don't know how to care for batteries and thus could end up shorting out on some keys or whatever in their bag.

Oh yeah, what I want the reviewer of products to do is "imagine" things like a drop test. That's enough, isn't t? and if it passes the test in your imagination, you should be just fine. Also, far too long ... and boring. you could have covered all this in a few minutes. But on the positive side, yours is just one of hundreds of charger reviews on You Tube that are equally boring and some even onger.
