this is great - if you do not take/Make the time to discuss the tough stuff through grace, it opens the door for satan to put that person in your life to tempt you -

That is where me and my husband are also. I did not change regarding so things he said that he had waited for me to change in. We are not communicating as a couple I do apologize for what I did not do or did not change in but he seems distant he did say that we would be casual while we were in the same house when I spoke to him about the situation he has seemingly gotten mad we have been married for 16 years he said earlier one of our conversations that he did not want to go to counseling with which we were belonging to a church where they had a Marriage Ministry. This was some years ago. I have drawn back and had not expressed how I have felt. He called me last November an said that we needed to separate and also mentioned regarding getting a divorce.

He waited for you to change? That sounds a bit off to me...How does one wait for another to change without changing himself in the process? Does change come in marriage when one waits for another to change or you both change? Im sorry to hear bout your situation. Jus goin thru my own mess and trying to figure things out as well. Im sorry hunny

We don’t get through tough times. We create tough times and then survive the consequences. I don’t understand why we hear message after message about having a healthy marriage just to avoid doing those things. We’ve become victims of our own creation and are upset and surprised that doing the opposite of what it takes to make a healthy marriage would produce an unhealthy marriage. And instead of learning and making changes we just continue down the same path in blissful denial. It’s almost as if there’s a fear of having a healthy marriage for some reason.

I hear you. During our hardships, my pastor said God doesn't believe in divorce. So I continued in our marriage miserable, because not even my counselor wanted to hear my hurt and pain. We were having trouble communicating and had past hurts that we didn't know how to speak honestly about, without feeling as if I was saying the wrong thing, when in truth I just wanted to be authentic. It was when we separated while living in the same house, during the pandemic that God began to work on us. God sent someone who showed us how to communicate without judgment. Now we're better than ever.

@@staceybrown3342 my pastor has told me we aren’t married and my counselor asks me how much longer I want to suffer. I keep praying for G-d to be my strength to keep going. Hopefully there’s a light at the end of the tunnel.

I had the same experience with my pastor. Because he's friends with us, but closer with my husband, he just couldn't see us not being together. Hopefully you can find someone who can show you both how to communicate effectively and express your feelings with judgment. I live in Edmonton, Alberta and we were separated for 5 month's living in the same house when the pandemic started. Believe it or not, that's when we were able to start to communicate. God sent us the right people to help us through. But the separation wasn't easy and being in the same space. I'm praying that y'all will have a breakthrough and come through better on the other side. It's possible. We're 24 years in and doing great now.
