Reject Iron with IAR: Iron Amplitude Rejection. For the XP Deus and XP ORX metal detectors. If you're tired of dealing with surface iron on a property that you know has good coins and relics underneath it all, try using the IAR setting in your Gold Program on your XP Deus or ORX. In this video, Grant demonstrates how to set up a program and shows what he finds.

Thanks Grant! I just tried the relic program on my Deus 2 with the IAR maxed out. This works amaizing. This was an old school house site with lots of iron as the school building was torn down in the 30s. Next it was a farm feild for 50 years. It was planted with white pines 30 years ago. Pays to do your homework and watch KZfaqs👍👍👍

Great video! I'm definitely keeping my IAR program in one of my slots. Grant and I have hit that little patch of ground dozens of times over the past few weeks. The proof is in and IAR works. Great tutorial Gary!

Great tips as always Grant. Gary enlightened me as well on IAR 5. I wasn't familiar with that setting and I was trying every tweak I could think of on a hot beach. I noticed program 1 on the ORX was a bit quieter but still chatty. I found the IAR setting and called Gary to see what it was. He suggested 5 to me as well, and it was a game-changer. Thanks for sharing 🙂👍

As a new XP Deus user I am finding your videos so helpful. Thank you. You explain things so clearly and I really like the demos as it always helps to see the theory put into practice. I love the harness ring you found at the end of this video. They are honestly one of my favourite finds as they are generally so tactile having been worn by harness leather.

@@GrantHansen Thanks Grant. I have been detecting with a Quest Q40 for 3 years. Although I really enjoyed the Q40, I wanted a lightweight more challenging machine and opted for the Deus - and then covid arrived! So for most of the past year I have been unable to detect due to restrictions in the UK. I am fortunate enough to be in an area where we can find Roman coins and artefacts as well as hammered coins and harness rings ;-) I hope to be out on an organised dig in a couple of weeks and want to use the Deus with a little understanding - you have some great videos and plenty to keep me going for now. However, if I find I am puzzling over something which you have not covered I will ask you. Thank you for being so willing to help out.

I would spend about an hour in GOLD FIELD each time out. Kinda slowly work in to it. I would cross-check the deeper targets and many times I could not detect the target with the other program. The deep targets are a gamble and many turn out to be iron. So many times I do not dig these, but a good site gotta dig them. GOLD FIELD is very deep. I try not to use too much IAR.

Meteorite 2 CM condrited ferrous nichel separated for uman iron obgected !!! IAR setting for 2 3 number perfect audio for meteorite nikel ferrous!! Pitc tone is fantastic !! reserch You meteorite??? I am interested in the Orx..but I heard you say getting through the shallow Iron and I thought the lower the Number 1-5 5 is for deeper iron and lower the number for Sallower Iron to reject.. Just wondering if you lower the number would be better?

I had some deeper iron to contend with also, which is why I cranked it up to 5. But 5 will also reject surface iron too.

Orx coil elliptical for 80 khz using program for gold 1 ??? For reserch small coin ??? It.s deus ???

That is a good coil and frequency for finding small gold.
