If budget is a concern, this is still a better value for what you get. Xp-pen has leveled the field with this pen display, by finally adding tilt support. 4K would be the next hurdle, but I don’t see it as a must have when 1080p is still great.

I just saw this tablet yesterday and now your review comes up XD still kind of scared of purchasing it. This is the first time i am going to be spending this kind of money on something like this and I have been looking at all of the reviews for all of these tablets that I can find for months.

I have this tablet. Owned it for about a month, and I’ve gotta say, I LOVE it. This baby works like a charm. I actually went on to use a MobileStudio Pro 16, and after having used both tablets, I could not for the life of me notice a difference in pen performance. The only reason I can imagine someone wanting a Cintiq is for the higher quality screen, but I see 4K screens all the time and honestly, I personally don’t see much difference. The MSP 16 makes a great deal more sense if you’re doing animation, 3D design or even video editing, and need the mobility. But other than that, the XP-Pen Artist 15.6 Pro really is just as good as any Wacom display tablet. Also, @Brad, I really want to thank you for being honest about your reviews. It can be difficult deciding which tablet to buy in such a crowded market. But I trust your reviews and will recommend them with complete confidence!!!!

I literally just bought the XP-pen artist 12 and i told myself when its time to upgrade ill go with this one. The parallax on my screen tho is barely noticeable and i like the fact that i can power the display monitor with my laptop too. Im just so glad i got this and i truly love it

Hell Yeah! I was waiting for this tablet! When I saw what Wacom came out with I was worried, but I think this is the one for me!

I just got the holiday edition of it and I must say it is worth it. They bumped down the price for the holiday edition (dont know how long that will last to be honest) and you get a pin, a calender for 2020, one of those phone stand things, as well as a couple of cards from the XP-Pen team. Really nice.

I like that scroll wheel. Seems more accurate and tactile than the touch bars these tablets usually have.

Mine arrived yesterday. The shoe lace, sensitivity and pressure, curved lines issues are fixed. works perfectly. Feels very premium.

You can test the tilt with one of the default "pencil" brushes of photoshop. It should make a smooth and wide shadding effect when you tilt the pen, and a clean thin line when the pen is straight. By the way, I just got a huion 13 and had the wobbling lines you mentioned on you review, but I contacted huion and they sent me a firmware update for the tablet that fixed it dramatically. Are you planning on doiung an update review for that tablet?

I would love to spread this wherever I can. If you are a gimp user who experiences pressure sensitivity problems with this tablet that persist after you've updated both your drivers and gimp, change the zoom on your tablet (through windows monitor settings) to 100%. Mine was 150% by default, making using the tablet in gimp impossible. The tablet has much better readability, too.

You make great, professional-looking videos. It's appreciated. It's very jarring when someone who has no sense of video production makes some at-home shaky/bad angle/bad sound demo video of some gear you need and you have to watch the damn thing several times to get all the important information you need. I watch your videos one time and I feel like the information is reliable, concise, clear, and entertaining.

I've had my Artist 12 for one year and 2 weeks before the end of the 1-year warranty the screen started flickering slightly, then the malfunctioning intensified until the tablet completely stopped working. I contacted XP-Pen and thankfully they offered a replacement, but I've been waiting 2 weeks now without updates. As I'm waiting, I had to start using my 5 years old, small Wacom Intuos Creative and it's still working perfectly. Although I prefer drawing on the Artist 12, Wacom's quality really shows here.

Oh man, this is actually rad. I returned my Kamvas Pro 13 a couple days back (mostly because of pen/calibration issues) and ordered the new Cintiq 16 immediately after. Funny that a couple days after that we get this here, which seems to be the first "Wacom-alternative" that really hits the mark in almost every regard. No regrets yet, because I super, super love the Pro Pen 2, have used it on my Intuos for a couple years now, but after being kind of unimpressed with the Kamvas after a few months of using it, I'm legitimately, unbelievably thrilled to see this tablet here performing so well.

I bought the Artist 12 in part because of your review and have been using it intensively for the past couple of months. It cost me 250e WITH the stand in europe, which is a great deal. It serves me very well, drawing on it is always satisfying and I've never had any issues with lines, however the screen does get somewhat scratched with pen use over time. The intentures aren't visible other than under direct sunlight, but you can tell the difference between the "used up" areas and the relatively untouched portions of the screen. It's not a big issue, but I'm wondering if this tablet has the same problem and if other tablets have it too.

I recently got the 15.6 pro due to this review and honestly? Its been my best tablet yet. I have an issue where i have a writing disability and holding a pen of any type be tablet or normal like an ink pen has been painful. I draw for a few short hours normally before the slender pens normally start making me grip them like you would a base ball bat or a club. Yet having a larger and wider pen like the Xp's and then being able to adjust it's sensitivity while still it being 8000+ pen pressure. Is just near perrfect!!! The only issue i have is with clip studio and it but i think that's just a driver issue and can be easily fixed. Other wise i've been able to throw on another hour of drawing and it's felt awesome! Great review Brad, I always enjoy your honest reviews. I've seen it reviewed elsewhere, but that channel is heavily Wacom biased, yours isn't biased and when something is good or bad you tell us about it. Tempting device, but I like the extra screen size on my GT-191. As soon as the bigger ones will get this good, then it's really very tempting.

I own a companion 2 and wanted the get the new 16 for my laptop but this really sold me so I think I will test drive the x-pen before I get the Wacom but do not get me wrong I love my companion 2 but this really sold me I can not wait to see to see how it's going to perform... Great review

Hi brad, did it get warm at any point? Testing the tilt in corel painter would be wonderfull, the natural media brushes they have (say acrylics round brush) benefit from it, for example, you could do some arched brush strokes, if the tilt is working the brush stroke would be very thin at the begening, and thicker as it gets to the end. When the tilt is not working it is evenly thick throughout the whole line, its quite noticeable

Great review! One important question (I did not find an answer anywhere): Does it support "passive mode"? So can you use it like a simple wacom intuos ...screen off, laying on the table, drawing on it like on an intuos and watching your cursor on your regular monitor only? If not, does it work if you have wacom drivers already installed for a regular wacom tablet already (on windows) or is it a "this or that" situation? Thanks!

Touch differentiates the cintiq pro line. And since i use the ms office products, it's really good to have touch. Also, display on the Cintiq pro 16 is 4k. But to be honest, display Lamination on this device actually looks better than my Cintiq pro 16, as my Cintiq has a good amount of parallax, not as bad as older cintiq models but definitely not as good as samsung note displays. Is your experience similar?

Thanks for the review! I have the xp-pen 15.6 base model and I'm pretty happy with it. Something that people should know about the xp-pen tablets, that commonly I dont't see on reviews, is that 90% of the time is not needed to attach the red cable, the output from your laptop/computer should be enough to power up the tablet. Sometimes I use the tablet when traveling, laptop that run on battery power up the tablet. Anyway I asked to xp pen if the new stylus with tilt is compatible with the base model and they answer yes (sweet!). My question is, should I sell my 15.6 and buy the 15.6 pro? The 15.6 pro has the same offset problem on the corners? (no matter what kind of calibration you do, will be always a offset while traveling on the corners). Thanks

How’s the pen accuracy when not Held in the normal position? I mean when you tilt the pen instead of moving the canvas. My Huion camvas 13 Pro had a huge issue where the accuracy would be so bad if not held normaly. Like if you’d switch to your left hand the cursor would be like 4mm of. Does this have that issue? Hi thanks for the review, we just bought the 15.6 pro and It really is great however we noticed the scroll wheel feels wobbly more than expected, it rattles slightly and when you roll it on side with thumb you can feel it lift up and down so it makes us wonder if we got a bad unit!? I'm wondering if you or anyone else noticed this? Any ideas greatly appreciated thanks :) Jamie

This looks amazing and I'll add it to my 'someday list' but I need help with a different tablet. As a no-job-yet art teacher my budget is in the negative. I've been thinking of the samsung tab a 10.1 for size, some art capabilities but also for typing up lesson plans and things and maybe I can squeeze it into by budget. My question is.. Can you get the 10.1 (no pen) and just buy a bamboo pen or are the capabilities not there for the pen. I ask because all the reviews (yours too) say the 10.1 pen is tiny. I cant afford the 10.1 with pen and a bamboo pen too. Or is the tiny pen ok for now, its the extra ram that counts kind of thing? I hate to ask but i cant find any comparison videos even years back and ive looked! Please advise. Typing in a 7in old tablet is maddening.

Ey Brad! I was thinking on wich tablet to buy, now I'm between this one and the huion kanvas pro 13 (specially after they released that jitter firmware fix later december). I've noticed that in the video you said when you draw an arrow, it makes a "shoelace", my style have pretty much hard and pointy corners, like zigzag teeth and spikey things, because of that I'd have some struggle with the XP? Should I take the kanvas pro 13 with the new firmware instead if so? Thanks!
