How does the Xperia 1 II compare to the brand new Xperia 1 III.
Is it just a marginal update or major step forward?

I left out the software overview as I did that already in multiple videos and I did not want to make this video too long. So for software overview please refer to the other videos I did.
What do you think about the Xperia 1 II & 1 III?

Wow, this is eye opening. The differences are stark in daytime photos! I have the 2 and LOVE it, but this is just one more thing the 3 is better at and you are the only youtuber I have found to make this unique discovery. Everyone kept talking about the telephoto upgrade which I don't care about but no one did a simple comparison on regular photo taking. The 3 is still pricey to upgrade after only having the 2 less than a year so I will continue to wait but definitely upgrading eventually.

thanks for the great content....probably just me and my lackluster eye, but the pictures on the iii look a lot better than the ones from the ii and for us point and shoot types, that difference means a lot

Thanks for this video! I've been waiting for such comparison 🙂 Nice to see that also the main lens is better. When it comes to low light photos, I can clearly see that the mark 3 is better in the photo with the soap spray bottles. I just got the mark 3 myself. Haven't got to try it out much yet. But I have noticed that it has more "lively" low light photos than the mark 2. Excited to try it out more 😃 I'm waiting for a cover, because the phone is slippery like h*ll.

Very good comparison and thanks. But i'm very surprised you only showed comparative pix at 2.9x and not anything higher. Would be great if you have included 4.4x and 10x.

Nice rewieve. This is importent to point out that the mark III just is slightly better than the mark II. I got my hands on the M III at a store and it was really fast. And whats pointed at was there firm and steady. The S21 was easy to but failed at the greater distance and was wondering away from the marked object. To me its clear. The Samsung and iPhones are for the insta people and Sony for them who wants best in evry photo. My xz3 is trash compared with these phones. 📸📸

It could be it missed focus but bith roughly always showed the same focus point

Op mijn Sony 1ii zit geen album app waar de foto's kan zien bekijken ik kan het ook zien met Google foto's raar dat het niet op mijn Sony 1ii ik heb hem arrpat geladen in mijn Sony wil graag mijn foto's video's op mijn geheugen kaartje hebben wat de meeste telefoon niet meer 🕊️🕊️🕊️

Hm, I see cars moving on the wrong side of the road and few signs in German.... Apparently it doesn't look like Auckland anymore - the last video location I watched from you. Regarding the new Xperia, it's still pretty much the same sh**t as before for Sony fans only and for those who don't want to have great selfie camera, awesome night mode or 3D face unlock for $1300. I think Sony is going nowhere with their smartphones. At least for given price.

The prices are too high definitely and the improvements marginally. But they are there. Video vlog was almost impossible with the 1 II when it came out as it had difficulties with stabilisation and no external mic support in its default app. This is now solved. HDR was weak for photos and js solved now. So its getting somewhere but is clearly for people who like to also take photos with normal cameras and prefer real colors and playing with light. People who don't like AI taking or manipulating photos

@@lltechview Not every AI makes smartphone photos look manipulated, artificial or unnatural. Quite opposite - just take 3 times cheaper Pixel 4 or even LG V60 ThinQ and have a good look at the pictures they producing. I clearly see much more natural looking photos. Another thing would be great to know from you is thermal performance of Xperia 1 III. I see too damn many reports of Xperia 1 iii quick overheating and shut downs in various scenarios. Maybe not all devices affected which means appalling quality issues.

@@victorrumyantsev3718 Sony provided updates for overheating prevention. I never saw a warning here with 28°C summer temperatures outside.

No matter if the III is better than II. Its still years behind the competitors. Its like Sony weny from 2013 to 2014 tech.

@@lltechview pixel peeping quality is years behind. HDR is flawed, contrasty white especially, hard to explain here, night mode definately 3 years behind, video... From 2013. No 4k 60, bad night videos, HDR is flawed again, slow mo is 720p still. Thats definately 2013 its the same software as my Xperia Z1. No camera switching. I am a Sony fanboy i still buy it but i wont lie to myself

@@BrbZrk_2 Yeah the camera switching during recording is a bit stupid. And there is no technical reason why they cannot do it. As for pixel peeing quality I will check that out. There was nothing abvious that I noticed when comparing P50 Pro and 1 III so far.
