Alloy XR was $2395.00 Dealer Cost in 1972. Had the 1st one that ever came to MT. After I saw Chubby Armour run away in the Amatuer Main on both Sat & Sunday @ Sturgis 1/2 mile; I asked our Dealer on Monday Morning what he would want for one and he gave me his Cost. Bike is still being used by a Speed Show(Ollie Anderson) for a jump bike. After 1980 they quit making a complete bike; Then they were up to around 6 grand. After they quit selling complete engines and offered just a kit engine, prices got ridiculous. Last time I checked on one over 10 yrs ago, they were over 8 grand and you'll spend 3 grand or more in machine shop work just getting one assembled. The heads come unfinished just the way they were sent to Jerry Branch(Branch Flowmetrics) from the Foundry in Ohio. They were completely unported, no seats,guides,etc. The Bottomend also came unassembled. Try and find one now for $2395

The lads need help setting up the motor so it won’t wet-sump like that. There is zero space for any excess oil down in the cases.

Thats a bad ass bike

I had one it was a pos, to race these you need to be a mechanic, or hire a full time mechanic...i went to 3 harley dealers to get parts they said there was no such bike, i showed them pictures they said it was home made and worthless, or they were too busy to fool with such junk, well screw hd dealers, they are such ass holes and dumb sobs, i was so mad i sold it for $ 800. The thing about it is i like hd, i just hate the effin big headed dealers. I wont buy another hd unless the dealers are cut loose and they put in place dealers that love motorcycles and motorcycle riders.

Looks like you have a problem with one of your Pistons there. And I think your clutch cable isn't adjusted right. But really nice bike

I had a 750 and the 1000 and they both were the same max speed, the other point is that they both were hell to start, and the carbs on the 1000 had to be adjusted every run, the 750 was slightly better ,i eas very disapointed.

Too many cooks in the kitchen ,,,,,,,,,,,,, how many guys does it take to start a bike man !

I'd check the carburetor bolts/clamps because I thought I saw someone wiggle the carburetor. It doesn't seem to want to run smoothly. Smoke BAD! Time for a complete rebuild please. Those are rare enough now to make it worth the maintenance costs. Please take care of it and yourself.

If it ran right you could run and pop the clutch to start it

Hey folks. See the smoke? That's what velocity stacks do for your engine. No air filtration is very bad for ANY engine. That 750 engine needs to be rebuilt. Too many races with no filtration.

Why? Just buy a honda!
