Congrats on the podium, and for the respect shown to the services. You SHOULD show more match content!!! This was a great perspective, concise and delivered well, plus it really ads merit to the knowledge demonstrated in your reviews and evaluations of gear, across the board. Thanks for producing great content.

Wow that is a legitimate test of physical stamina and coordination. I could see even someone who put in hard prep training burning themselves out on early stages and not having enough left in the tank to finish the match out without delays or making too many mistakes due to fatigue. The physical tasks would assuredly have an degrading effect on your shooting by wearing out your grip strength and the high cardio demand. Kudos to you for stepping up to the challenge!!

Really interesting match Ray. It used to be just about the accuracy. This is full contact sport. Let's throw in some flash/bangs going off in the middle of a shooting stage. It is a real testament to your skill that you could step into this new discipline and pull off a 2nd place.

Nicely done Sir. I busted out laughing when you mentioned the "How big the SF guys are"...LOL... Most of them do not even have a clue how huge they are. When they spend so much time around other SF Kats, that are equally large men, the size becomes normalized, so the competitive nature to keep trying to be bigger then their brothers, it never stops, LOL... With out mentioning names, a Firend of mine, his wife "who rules the house with a cast iron feather" mentioned that she wanted to redo the bedroom suit, so she can get rid of the king sized bed, and install two king sized beds, LOL... Every time he gets home, the bed kept getting smaller and sunken in, LOL... She is just a dinky thing, and when he is home sleeping, there is a thin line she can fit in/on, just because he is so dang big, no neck having monster... lol... He is like 6'2" 320 to 340 lbs and like 2% body fat... LOL What is crazy funny, is she loves how tough he is, he can pick her dinky a$$ up with one arm with no efforts, and yet, the partnership they have together, is unbreakable, as he like her being the boss of the household and they both excite each other.. It is pretty neat to witness. She has a warrior at her command, yet, she bows down to him in efforts to beg for peace. to love and honor him. I'll tell you what, I pity the fool who ever dares to harm his family, as that is the only thing in this world that guilds him in a positive manor. He does what he does, for the well being of our nation, it's beloved people, but, his levelness view of always desiring to be the best for the job, is guided by that mans family. I was pulling an engine a few years ago out of one of my race cars, and he was over just chilling, I spent about 30 minutes cleaning up the pathway for the engine hoist and he is like "My god, get out of the way, you are driving me nuts".. He reaches in, lift the engine (THE WHOLE ENGINE & TRANSMISSION) out in one go, in like 5 seconds and is standing there holding it like a 50 lb bag of dog food, asking where do I want it to go... "Umm, just set it on the tire over there"... My god man, Don't ever do that again, I don't want to getting hurt and ruining your career over a stupid engine... He laughed at me and mentioned that have engines on base that they sling around and is just another day...LOL.. When you see something like that, it is not normal how second nature it is for them to "JUST DO IT" that the rest of us must resort to "Work smarter not harder".. Well, only those Kats are allowed to work harder, even though, that is ot hard for them, Just another day for them...lol Pardon the novel, I just felt like writing my laughter out... But, Yes, those S.F. Kats ain't no joke on how dang huge they are, I mean, they are just big dudes, and they are smart AF too. I must mention that as well, as I don't want to convey that they are just a bunches of lumbering brute dummy's, oh no, they are exceptionally smart and well educated, fully backed by the desire to never stop learning. Another funny note, I have chairs in my shop, that I purchased FOR HIM, That I have the back rest silk screened with the MAX lbs so he doesn't accidentally sit on a normal person chair and break it and risk being hurt by landing on his tail bone or something stupid like that, but, that can handle his weigh and comfort, as regular folding chairs, are unsafe for men like him.

I've known both; sf dudes who were physical specimens, and sf dudes who were skinny as a rail. It's weird how that works and I think there were eras where one or the other were more predominant. I know in the Vietnam era they tended to be leaner.

Well, depends on what division you want to shoot. If not open division, Safariland ELS. For open division, I use a battle belt setup by G-code. Holster needs to be a hooded retention holster like a G-code or red hill tactical.

Wow. I turn 56 this Fall and want to run this before I'm 57! This is such an inspiration. Quick rules question: Did you have to drag the chain hand-over-hand, or could you run down, put the chain over your shoulder, and drag it back they way we remove an injured person?
@XRING

Hey Flatline! You had to stay in the box to pull the chain. You couldn’t run down to grab it.

@XRING
@XRING 2 жыл бұрын
Joe Farewell is a beast and a teammate for Cobalt Kinetics. He has won the last 4 major matches that I know of. Matches are based off of points that are determined by the time of the fastest shooter for the stage. I can give you one example of time on a single stage. So on like stage 5 I think I was the 13th fastest. The difference in time was around 11 seconds. Fastest time got 100 match points where I get 82 points.
