As soon as I heard of the Swift system coming into play with this current conflict I totally understood the SECs lawsuit. They’ve been planning this for years. Totally makes sense why the US would want to shut down Ripple and $XRP. TO THE FUCKING MOON.

Brad Garlinghouse has already explained that exchanges rely on banks to facilitate USD transactions. Crypto can't be easily used by Russia in the quantity required to fund their operations; crypto's current liquidity is still tiny. Exchanges using the Global reserve currency need to be KYC registered and ISO 20022 compliant. Any exchange that fails to uphold protocols will face heavy penalties that will likely be catastrophic to their business. XRP ledger for example will no doubt give even more power to banks than they already have with swift. Fed-wire is known to be using Ripple tech through Volante.

You left out the error rate of SWIFT. It's large. Also I'm guessing RippleNet api has the ability to whitelist addresses. Limiting corridors sounds like an easy mod

I’m glad Ben now understands what we as XRP army have known for 2+ years. XRP was beta tested by retail XRP holders for the transition from retail to Institutional use. XLM was designed for retail, peer to peer use globally for the unbanked. It is also a iso 20022 token. XRP #1 token to be used for the new financial system. XLM #2. JS. 🤷🏽♂️

The SWIFT system is old client server technology. They’ve moved it to the CLoud Architecture but it’s still too slow. Blockchain is like RAID5 but for operating software or like peer to peer nodal vs “storage”. Why in the F don’t people just explain the old vs new technology ? Jeezus.

Because swift has been upgrading for years. They have same day settlement and even same hour settlement. Its not as fast as xrp, but plp act like it take weeks to settle transactions.

SWIFT, Nostro accounts and so forth, might be old hat, but are so big a part of the international Financial system. If you can get the six UK clearing banks to use XRP then all their clients ( all other UK banks) will have to use it. I.e. get the clearing banks to use it and it automatically roles out to the banks.

Ben its not just the time its also the cost. XRP transactions costs are less than a cent whereas SWIFT is very expensive

Great video. One thing - I would kind of disagree with one point - I think utilizing ODL would save Russia and save us all from economic collapse and thus end the war. May not make much sense now, but wait and see - XRP = made for this!

All this does make sense. Banks haven’t wanted to use Ripple and XRP because the banks make a ton of money USING the money involved in transfers, taking advantage of the slow messaging and settlement time.

Proof of CONSENSUS. The world decides who is wrong and right. Russia won't be able to use XRPL. The world doesn't want war. XLM is for the backend for Store purchases and XRP is for the backend for banks around the globe. Just my thoughts.

How could you prevent them from using it? It’s open source.They were testing the XRPL in 2017, I imagine they’re already stacked. You don’t need Ripple for XRP transactions

XRPL isn’t for banks, its for ILP. You really have to throughly understand ILP and it’s use of XRPL as the settlement layer to understand “all the money”.

Always find it funny when outsiders come in with their small snippet of information they think they know about Ripple and XRP, then get proven wrong by a group of us that actually know it’s use case and have facts to back it. He totally is. And he really doesn't speak on things with proper credible info. At this point he's pure entertainment to ppl who were hip to certain crypto 6months before he gets wind of it. Can Russia buy steel with bitcoin. They have rubble, dollars, they can't sent rubble.or dollars to an exchange without using swift. They can but pain in the arse. And than the exchange knows it is russian money, used to finance the Ukraine invasion. Will they be willing to accept a bitcoin order, if the money arrives in a suitcase?

XRP, just a matter of time….only, hoping Russia is not able to use XRP right now to skirt the system. If that happens, can only imagine what the SEC / Govt would have in store for Ripple, could be a big problem .., Hopefully Ripple Exec’s can hold Russia off from using XRP until this war is over….

They can’t though, XRP is decentralized. Russia can buy and use XRP without Ripple. There’s pretty much nothing the US can do but ban exchanges from trading with Putin but I imagine Russia is already stacked

Xrp ledger is decentralized and permission-less. Xrp does not need Ripple to function. The Federal reserve or any government entity can not stop Russia or other nations from using it.

These are all good points. Russia can use the XRP ledger all they want. I don't think all the trading platforms will comply with the sanctions. If an exchange is willing to ban any person or nation from cashing out into thier desired currency, it truly diminishes they ideology of a decentralized and permission-less currency.

There is over $30T sitting in the central banks 🏦 doing nothing because SWIFT requires it to be there to do cross border transactions. XRP free’s up all that liquidity
