Thank you Dr Hayley, I'm writing a leadership report for my MBA and this tutorial has done wonders. I made a few referencing errors on my first assignment (wrong referencing style) which pushed my grade to just below a distinction. Hopefully I will hit the target on this occasion. Many thanks

Hi Dr Stainton, In regards to where we get information from to reference is it best practice to use articles from within the country your Degree is awarded? For example I am currently in Paramedic Practice and throughout the world there are different variations on articles due to different approaches to certain medical emergencies. I feel like I am rambling on here.... However I think what i am trying to get across is that if I reference an article stating an approach from America or New Zealand that could be deemed as incorrect to UK procedures and protocol. I hope this makes some form of sense!? Thanks Lewis

You would usually assume the website is updated and put the current year.

When in-text citing, if it's more than 2 authors, we've been taught to use "et al". However, in the Reference List, if it's more than 2 authors we must have the surnames and first initial of all the authors involved. This video seems to suggest that "et al" is fine to use in the Reference List, so I'm wondering which is correct?

For annotated bibliographies is it okay to manually put in references manually for both the bibliography and the references? Or does it have to link? Like how when you do an in text referencing. Also when writing the bibliography do you need to write in text referencing or is that a given because it's a summary of the book already?

Its so hard to automatically reference the bible. Its no place for the book, chapter and verse when adding the source. When placing it in-text it only gives author and year. I can edit it but when placing reference at the end it leaves out what i edit lol. So frustrating but i have to get it right

Quote, Unquote Harvard Referencing Guide says to use et al for the citation but to give all family names in the reference list. After all, if someone spent one year writing a book don't they deserve to have their name references, instead of et al?

I am struggling to reference government reports: quoting the report that contains footnotes for the original source involving several organisations who conducted the research for the government such as survey organisations and other government bodies within one single data analysis? Simply put, a quote that is published on a government website by a specific government organisation that uses data analysis from other several sources including survey companies and other government bodies. it is really long for in-text citation and no idea how to list it on the reference list! Please help my dissertation is due in 10 days! :(
