if you are talking about when he is replacing his arc reactor, from the chest down, they use a prosthetic chest, then touch it up with make up, the prosthetic chest was attached to the chair, and robert downey jr was sitting up more straight then the prosthetic chest was

Great video. aha, i realised after watching this that in my mind, i was still seeing RDJ as Tony even when he wasn't acting as well as i was seeing the set as a real life, functional area rather than just a fake set. Amazing actors and an amazing film all together.

the a prosthetic mold of his chest, add a layer, and the new layer has the whole. so the whole thing is on top of this own chest.

@multihappydayz If you mean the part where Pepper is changing the old for the new, skip to 1:52 on the video and look closely. Downey is sitting UNDERNEATH the chair, with his head shoulders and arms sticking through a hole in the chair, connected to a fake torso with the arc reactor in it.

If we were to pool all the budgets given to movies like iron man, i'm sure we'd have more than enough to build a suit for real :D
