Cool little device, thanks for reviewing it. Allows you to have bluetooth in older equipment, just need 5 volts & line input. And it's dirt cheap.

I really like the fact that even if it is chinese, it doesn't use the annoying lady voice at all, just iphone notification tones, very nice. We need more manufacturers that do this lol

@@MingIslands nope it isnt, they seem to indicate a certain revision. as of writing this comment, the 2023 revision of the xy-bt-mini are now blanked out, meaning there is no notification sound, like at all, they are just silent.

I got the one with the voice, Its connected to my amp & linked to my pc. Working great, no unsoldered tabs on mine - not that i used the micro usb connector. Mines powered from a 7805 regulator connected to the 12v line.
@TheTrueVoiceOfReason5 жыл бұрын
Starting at 5:25 That's the biggest problem with boards today / all surface mount components - any jack or connector that takes repeated stress does not have the mechanical stability and security of the older through - hole components. Eventually those tiny solder points will crack where a through - hole part has itself much more securely anchored.
@12voltvids5 жыл бұрын
That is why I resoldered the connectors.
@jasonbrindamour9035 жыл бұрын
That could also be remedied with a case that holds things down in place, those thick sticky heat sink 2-way tape pads perhaps on the inside of a sturdy casement???
@TheTrueVoiceOfReason5 жыл бұрын
@@12voltvids Goes without saying. But you have to wonder how long those solder joints will last even though you've redone them. The smaller the mechanical joint, the weaker it is without some form of reinforcement. The old through - hole has that extra reinforcement due to the larger solder pads and the actual strain relief of the leads going through the board. Extra points if it is soldered on both sides and a plated through via. Jason, yes, anything to help keep the part from physically moving will help. But just like in a building, the stronger the foundation, the longer the building will last. Ergo, the stronger the board connection of the high stress part, the longer it will perform well. Any enclosure reinforcement of the part to the board is icing on the cake.
@12voltvids5 жыл бұрын
Well this module is going to be built into an old clock radio. I just found another Yorx AM/FM/FM stereo clock radio with the beautiful VFD, just like the one I swapped the VFD tube on, but this one the tube works perfect. It is going to become a bluetooth capable radio. The AM/FM/FM Stereo switch will be rewired for AM/BT/FM stereo.
@TheTrueVoiceOfReason5 жыл бұрын
@@12voltvids not necessarily a commentary on this particular piece, but rather a general statement on the difference between T-H and SMD where repeated stress on connections is concerned. Since your board will be static, that sort of failure should be nil.

Here's the problem, I have used tablet as screen in my Land cruiser, since it has every thing I need, customizations, HD screen, portability ( also security from theft as I carry it along with me) camera, Internet, tracking, navigation, In built storage, Bluetooth 5.0 etc. Now when I pair this to my Panasonic stereo consisting bt 3.0, there Is lag in music video songs and audio output, and for some reason the AUX was disabled in my stereo by previous owner. My question is, will replacing aux Jack and also keeping the Bluetooth module, will it work. Or I will have to upgrade the MODULE to bt 5.0..... If available..... Please help.

Remember that Bluetooth operates in same frequency band as 2.4g wifi. Wifi has much more power and can easily drown out the very low power Bluetooth signal. Bt was originally developed to connect your phone to a headset or your car. Out on the road there are not dozens of close by routers competing for bandwidth.

Can we find a solution for Bluetooth carplay with this modules? Usb wireless carplay dongles are way to expensive :))
@1zanglang Жыл бұрын
You need to find the input points on car radio mainboard, from the cassette player, and solder an 3,5 mm jack audio wire to this unit. This would be the difficult part. Put the unit back in the dashboard and route the audio wire under the dashboard in order th have the jack connector near the cigarette lighter. Then buy a 12 v lighter socket charger and find the best solution to mount the bluetooth module on it and power it. At this stage you have a functional BT connection. In order to make the car radoo cassette player to play the audio coming from bluetooth, you need to take appart a audio cassette, remove all internals, like band spools, put back together only the casing and insert it into the player. That would start playing, but the audio signal would be from bluetooth. Done. I did this 15 years ago on a Dacia Logan first gen which had only radio cassette player. Instead of using bluetooth, I connected the 3.5 mm jack to my MP3 player, and years after that I listened my MP3 music in my car. I sold it this way, and the buyer was happy to connect his phone to the player.
