Lawyers are conducting a charging conference on Friday, Nov. 19, 2021 in the trial of the death of Ahmaud Arbery with closing arguments expected on Monday.
Arbery was shot and killed on Feb. 23, 2020. Cellphone video leaked to the public shows two armed white men in a truck approaching the 25-year-old Black man as he runs down the road. One of the men, later identified as Travis McMichael, and Arbery struggle over McMichael's shotgun before Arbery is shot and collapses.
Travis McMichael, his father Gregory McMichael and William "Roddy" Bryan, who recorded the video, are all charged with murder in Arbery's death.

You dont understand the law. SUSPICION of a felon is enough. Arbery entered that house illegally many times and those people has every right to suspect him from burglary. Entering that house Arbery created a reasonable suspicion of a felony crime. Even if he never took anything! Arbery went inside that house, not just hanged around the yard. Trespassing by definition is entering somebodys yard without permit. Burglary by definition is entering somebodys house, dwelling or car without permit. Its a fact that Arbery went inside that house and law is against him in this case.

No, without the video they still would've won. After the guilty verdict, the Prosecution team were interviewed & said it was 'icing' to have the video & it made their job easier. They also added that without the video it would've been a little harder but they had over 400+ exhibits so were very confident of success. The real accolade is Ahmaud's Mum Rona who for 76 days from the murder of her son, with all LE & DA doors shut in her face, worked tirelessly alone to unearth corruption links in the quest to have her son's murderers prosecuted. It was a reporter who heard about the DA having to recuse himself because of Rona's work, who was prompted to write the story of Rona's struggles for justice. This made global headlines highlighted BLM support. Later Roddie Bryan leaked his video under the idiotic assumption it'd help his cause.

Unfortunately it does not matter if he actually commited a crime (and in other parts of the trial the defense does concede that he did not commit a felony). However, what matters is whether the defendents had probable cause to believe he had as well as whether that meant they were legally allowed to do a citizens arrest. Now imo them chasing AA down in the manner they did is insane, and they do have a vigilante mindset about it. However, legally this will probably be appealed on the grounds of whether the statue was correctly interprited, and i would not be surprised to see the case in higher courts before all is said and done.

The key being that Arbery was mentally ill, and probably quite seriously at the point he was shot. I think his mental illness records should have been allowed in the trial as they answer two questions that have lingered over the whole case. Firstly, why did Arbery keep returning to a construction site, sometimes late at night? Secondly, why did he react so unusually to being chased, and why did he choose to confront two armed men who seemed like they were serious about telling him not to come closer?

Not even that. Just call the police. Remember at the most, they suspected him of trespassing, which couldn't be deemed official trespassing, until he was identified by police and notified not to enter property anymore. Aldi if he was danger the would be intentionally passing themselves in harms by following him. Vigilantes is what they are.

A private person can only arrest for a misdemeanour offence contemporaneously. A private person can only arrest for a felony when the perpetrator is escaping. A private person can never arrest a person which they have no knowledge or evidence of any crime whatsoever. Third hand knowledge of a number of misdemeanours and felonies that have occurred in a neighborhood over the course of weeks and months, and for which there is no specific suspect, does not empower private citizens to randomly select a member of the public based on the melanin content of their skin to effect a citizens arrest upon. I realize lawyers have to argue to support their clients but there was no justification or precedent for these racist hicks to inconvenience Mr. Arbery in any way, much less hunt him down and kill him.

The defendant said under Oath that he had a confrontation with the victim a couple days or week before he murdered him. He said the victim acted like he was going to pull a gun on the defendant but the defendant didn't have his gun at the time so he disengaged himself with the confrontation. The next time the defendant saw the victim, he was prepared by having his own gun. The victim had no weapon but that didn't matter to the defendant because he acted like he had one before. So this man decided to hunt the victim down and murder him. He can argue self-defense with the first shot but the next two times he pulled the trigger was a execution. Any reasonable person can see the difference between right and wrong!

The "defendant is lying to save his ass. Through all of his nonsense..this is the first time heard he personaly encountered Ahmaud one on one before the day he killed Ahmaud. The racist idiot kept contridicting himself in his testimony making up bull 💩 recanting almost all of his statements in his recorded police interview. He forgot what the crook DA and her clean up man told him (travis) and his dad (greg) what too, not too say and do after greg called her for advice. I wonder why that part was not brought up greg's call to his buddy. The NFAC'S call to jackie (the DA) is why the three stooges were finally arrested. They were immediatedly taken into custody for protection from the NFAC who did show up. I'm wondering is that when the 💩 hit the fan for the DA and her clean up crew. There's more to this situation is not being told. Ahmaud's mother was told a lie about his death by Glen County police.

I don't see how travis can claim "self defence" even after the "first shot". travis, greg and roddie were three armed aggressors. Gough (the Attorney who asked for the plea bargain) is an absolute clown. Although his client (Roddy Bryan) isn't as involved as the other two defendants, he's still going to do time if found guilty. Gough's the same guy who's asked twice for a mistrial, and has made several "Black Pastor" and "Black Lives Matters" remarks. So yeah, I totally agree: At this point, they're pretty sure they're going to lose.

Seriously, you should if you can! Apparently the owner doesn’t want to move in-he’s distraught that his property was used as a justification for a lynching. He might have trouble selling it at full value because of the house’s connection to such an egregious hate crime. It taints the whole neighborhood, really. You’d be doing the owner a service and you’d elevate the neighborhood, Mr. Binder. Now go have an excellent day!

Citizens arrest is a myth anyway. It's some shit that worked like hundreds of years ago. What people do in modern times is a "reasonable detaining". This is when a lunatic is fighting and following you and you decide to wrastle them down and hold them there til the cops come. OR, in some extreme circumstance where it's absolutely necessary you may be able to chase after someone you witness committing a serious crime so long as you don't put them or others in any serious danger that would have otherwise not been present.

@@celestialpotato5222 In Georgia, a person commits a burglary by entering or remaining in a structure without authorization and with intent to commit a felony or theft inside. GA code section 16-7-1, 16-17-5. The essential elements to burglary include unlawfully entering or remaining in a protected structure with the INTENT to commit a crime therein. The defendant must enter the structure with the INTENT to commit a theft or some other crime, even if the intended crime never occurs. Here none of the essential elements exist or at the very least are provable. Intent cannot be proven, as the facts demonstrate that the deceased did not commit any observable felony or criminal violation. As far as the mens rea goes, I guess the Three Stooges are mind readers. Conclusion, there was no burglary. At best there was a trespass, a low grade criminal violation. The way they conducted themselves and the language they used leaves no doubt as to their true motives.
