This came out super cute! I wear finger coils on the regular. I like them more than wash n gos because they last longer and give those of us with different curl patterns all over a more uniformed look!

YY L I have 2c (so way different hair type) but for me it stays looking nice for 4-5 days if Im not super active. In my experience more definition & bugger clumps = longer lasting wash n go

😍 It turned out sooo cutee! I literally do these all the timeee and it lasts me a whole week. And as the days go by i continue to separate them even more, by the end of the week my fro is really big and curly. The only thing i hate is that it takes me almost 3 hours to do it and my arms be hurting 😭.

LilUziJ on short hair use a comb (look for comb twist videos). To take them out you have to separate each on with your fingers BEFORE washing or you’ll have a mess to untangle. I’m know I’m 5 months late, but I hope i helped.

Haha mine too! Just remember to make them tight at the root, add enough gel and keep coiling until its tight! They must be tight or it will look frizzy. :) I would love to see how it turns out

It turned out so pretty. I’ve been wanting to try finger coils for so long but my hair is so frizzy and I’m afraid of spending all that time to end up with a big Afro puff lol

Crystallinity Xo my roots frizz up a lot. I believe it’s from of moisture because of the product I use before didn’t really penetrate my hair. I tried taliah waajid’s green apple and aloe curl definer and that really moisturized my hair so I had no frizz with the finger coils this time.

I could never get this right. Yet as a kid my mom styled my hair like this. A few weeks ago I learned how to make it work on my hair. My hair has to be halfway dry. After my normal shampoo and conditioner, I apply my leave-in and oil then I plop. When my hair is halfway or more dry I apply my styler. My hair is thin so I take a 10mm crochet hook and roll thin pieces like you would on a perm rod. You could probably use a pencil or even chopsticks. Roll the hair and pull out the crochet hook or whatever you use. The game changer for me is the halfway dried hair. Using the crochet hook just gives better definition. It looks pretty good done your way too but there are sections of my hair that doesn't curl too well. My hair goes from 2c near the front, but mostly it's 3a/b. So that accounts for there not being uniform curls throughout.

Your coils look great!!! I can never get my finger coils to hold on the crown or back of my hair. Everytime I coil them & then let them go they immediately puff up & once completely dry, they look horrible. But they hold really good on my sides & front. Idk what I'm doing wrong. I wish you would have showed us your technique on maybe the first 2 or 3 coils instead of speeding up the video so I could have maybe saw what I'm doing wrong when I try to do them. But nevertheless, amazing style on you!!

I have a similar problem. The only thing is it’s my back and the bottom sides that stay coiled but at the top and the top sides is where I have an issue.

Nay Peters i would say it took 1.5 hours and i dried overnight. If you sit under a dryer it should only take about an hour

No don’t do it with eco if you have 4 type hair! They can lock if you do not take them out within a certain amount of days.
