A touching composition by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj. English translation provided below:
shyam tum kaise deen dayaal
(O Shyam! How have You termed to be 'Merciful to the Destitute'?)
saba kaha tum binu hetu sanehi, vishvambhar pratipaal
(Everyone says that You love without any cause and are the sustainer and protectors of the world)
bera bhaee terata mohin puni kyon, kripana bhaye nandlaal
(I have been calling out to Your for so long but You have become so miserly with Your favors)
tuka chandan ke tilak lagaye, kubarihin kiye nihaal
(Being pleased with the mere application of sandalwood paste to Your forehead by the hunchbacked Kubja, You gratified her by accepting her as Your lover!)
ketika naam ginaaun jina kahan, prem diye gopaal
(There are innumerable other such souls on whom You bestowed divine love)
kaaran kaun 'kripaluhin' tyago, karan rahit kripaal
(Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj says, "O Causelessly Merciful Lord! What is the reason that You have foresaken me?")
