他最強的不僅僅是幾乎完美的發音，還有他的表達方式。許多中文母語者在接受採訪的時候，思路不是很清晰，語氣詞和重複的廢話比較多。而他的表達完全沒有廢話，邏輯清晰，語句結構完整，已經遠勝很多中文母語者。

呵呵，一般轻易说需要天赋的人里没有几个是真正努力过的。在不知道他为了达到现在这个水平付出了多少的努力，下了多少的功夫情况下，怎么能判断是天赋还是努力。他能达到这个水平跟自己热爱学汉语有关吧。

他用词非常地道，但又不是大白话，很适合接受采访的场合，不是单纯聊天，而且还能很自然地使用成语….无所事事、活学活用、死记硬背、台上一分钟台下十年功，厉害😮😮👍👍

His strategy is 0. Master pronunciation first. 1. Pick sentences/phrases that he deems useful in daily conversations with native chinese people. He finds the phrases from TV, podcasts, books & conversations. 2. Type those phrases into Anki and follow the dates that Anki would tell him to come back to study 3. He will use those phrases in ACTUAL conversations with his Chinese friends 4. He will then gather feedback from his Chinese friends on which words doesn't fit well into the context. 5. He will then repeat the above steps

我覺得他最厲害的是文法用詞非常精準，這比發音還更難，連母語者都不見得語言表達得比他精煉，他的自學經驗很像我當初學韓語的過程，真的就是需要有一股熱愛，拼命練習和接觸，進步就會很快！但我還是沒有像他那麼厲害，很有目標地在短時間內把一門語言學到近乎專業，這真的太強了！

原来不是他去中国，而是中国人搬到英国来了。但我最好奇的是他的语顺几乎百分百完美，这是我不擅长之一。中文语顺其实并不容易，因为我试图通过翻译对比过语顺。其次就是他用词的准确度找不出瑕疵，他的词汇量也非常惊人。发音知道难点在哪其实已经是第二步了，因为这时候估计他已经攻克了95% 中文发音。只需要注重于几个不太擅长的发音即可。其实我今天学到的是，自律、怎么利用碎片时间、反馈必须及时输入Anki.

@@davisliz159 我之所以把自律放在第一位是因为在我的Goethe外语课上，我们某同学做了非常不好的示范。说母语是每个人的舒适圈，所以她在课堂上经常用母语聊天。其实我有时候也会犯这个错误，因为有时候表达不了，也很累。所以我在想，虽然语言环境是有了，但是现在有翻译软件，有微信聊天，就算出国也能生活在自己的舒适圈内（打电话除外），所以自律很重要。

his level of Chinese is certainly astonishing, but an important thing was mentioned halfway through the material. he may have never been to China before or attended classes, but he lives in Manchester and had the opportunity to talk to many Chinese people and, in addition, he could make closer friends, which only improved his level. Such relationships are a huge boost, they add motivation when you have the opportunity to talk to a native speaker, in addition, their reaction also makes you want to learn more, what's more, his girlfriend was from China, having so many contacts and opportunities to surround herself with the Chinese community, it can be compared in a sense, to being in China. Of course, the mere fact of talking to Chinese did not make his level so high, I guess he devoted many hours to learning and improving his language and was determined. However, I believe that the lack of a Chinese community around them while learning often causes people learning this language to lose motivation after some time, and motivation is the main factor in achieving progress, no matter how big or after how long.

You can put in a lot of effort by yourself but if you aren't using the language with natives, you won't achieve an accent close to native level in the end. Don't listen to random youtube gurus who often put importance on how they self studied because in the end of the day, you can only get to native level by using the language constantly. Forget self studying and go meet some people if you want to get to a high level

@@yaboiNOCTURNAL I mean, u are right but not exactly, there are many foreign people living in China, for 1-5 years, and they cannot speak chinese at all, or their chinese is on very low level, so surronding urself in that enviorment is not always enough, in the end u need to know some grammar, vocabulary, just to be able to speak, and then master the pronunciation. I have been learning chinese for 5 months, most of the time selfstudying, I signed for clases with teacher, few weeks ago, I had 7 hours so far, I plan to go to China in the next 5-8 months, I hope until that time my chinese will be on intermediate level, in terms of speaking of course

@@Soreto23 Most of the people you say who have the environment but fails is because they want to fail. The #1 key to success in language learning is to force yourself out of your comfort zone and practice with your mouth, but unfortunately, many people fail to do that even when they find themselves in a foreign country. Most of those guys aren't failing due to lack of self studies, they are failing because in the end, they choose to hang out with people that speaks their comfort language / are too shy to talk in the local language until they think they are good enough. Speaking from experience, you only need to study until you can form and understand basic sentences (can be done in 1-3 months prob), then, as long as you have some sort of activites to guide you to have native interactions in that environment, like school, work, online games that have chat options, you will adapt very quickly in 1-3 years, reaching fluency. Many people don't understand how fast humans can learn when they are forced to adapt in a foreign environment. ( You will naturally look up things you don't know and try to imitate the way people talk to fit in, while having constant output that will let your skills increase at a balance level ). So in the grand scheme of things, if you are going to be in China to live a life and not be a tourist, spending your free time studying instead of hanging out with people/ talking to people online/dating will only slow down your progress. And if you are there as a tourist then you probably won't get much better at the language anyway unless you're so outgoing that you can chat with random people all the time or you can get some dating going on there.

語言講究天賦的語感，我老爸外語也會中、英、俄、意這幾種，地方方言也會很多種，有次他帶我去外省旅游，當地景點有個規定本地人免票，他就説方言人家硬是當他是本地人，給我們免票。。。我連聼都聼不懂，給我驚呆了。。。

你们二位讲的都很不错。不过，逛逛前门，西单商场，和店员，和路边的居民聊两句，就知道有那么点儿差别了。不仅仅是语调，还有语言的表达方式（用词遣句）。当然，一般人也甭用讲究那么多。从前有位老师根本没有去过苏联。他的俄语非常道地。原因是他小时候家住哈尔滨，家里的保姆是俄罗斯人。所以说，练口语也难，也容易。要有环境。

I used to study pinyin for a long time and kept taking a break from learning and then getting back to them just listened a lot to each sound and then all of them together asked some people online to show me how do they pronounce them and then I kept repeating I put a line under the ones that I usually can’t get or miss pronounce and kept listening to them repeating and searching for videos on how to pronounce them and then I quit again but the nice thing is that I kept watching cdrama all the time so once I decided to study pinyin again I found out that I understand them all 😂 and now people keep praising me for my pronunciation even tho that I feel like it all happened all of sudden but for real listening and repeating is the key and never think they’re difficult because no they’re not they’re so easy just if u stopped thinking this way ,and the nice part about Chinese is that once you understand the pinyin you will learn soooo fast I’m studying from almost 2 months self studying and I’m about to finish hsk3 now

Even he surrounds himself with Chinese at Manchester U, the fact that he's able to speak fluently, and when I mean fluently is by not having to think about how to translate from English to Chinese to a point where he's able to communicate his thoughts in Chinese, that IS actually the toughest, most challenging part when learning a different language. As for me, it took me at least a year to achieve this level after moving to the US, where I am surrounded by English-speaking Americans every day. When you start to have dreams in English... I think that's when I started to able to convey my thoughts without taking the extra step to translate in my head... Kudos to this guy who's able to achieve this in the UK, it is very very impressive!

何威讲中文最大的优点是声调跟普通话表达非常一致,听不到通常老外讲中文的声调,是真的下功夫了,我朋友的女儿在美国出生长大,尽管父母讲地道的普通话,可是女儿还是讲老外腔调的中文,可见何威在发音练习上是下了功夫的.👍👍

Chinese Central East & SE dialects today & in past-- N Chinese dialects sounds were similar--Korean, etc. borrowed many Chinese words before 1500 AD/CE when all Chinese dialects has similar sounds. Recently, people on Internet reported using Hangul to write both modern Cantonese & Hokkien, at least. 1) To find books in Korean that teach Chinese 2) To find books in Chinese that teach Korean. 3) Similarly, videos & bi lingual subtitles 4) To find English, Korean, or Chinese book or website (Wikipedia has English language ones) reference grammars, here for Korean, & for Chinese to point by point to compare the 2 in generic common words. But for unique cultural we need articles, videos, books, magazines m, etc. Examples- yin & yang or never translated, only explained while use original Chinese words, like yin & yang, qi, etc’

乱说。。中文其实很简单，小学生毕业就可以看书看报了。英文小学毕业生看报纸都很困难。。

@@user-be2lz9pg2f你才在乱说吧😂汉语被西方人评为最难语言之一！因为汉语是世界上唯一保留且正在使用的象形文字，是完全不同于其他语系的语言，无法通过字来判断发音，而英语只要掌握自然拼读法你都可以轻松把任何单词念出来了

@@merida11travel 西方人还说中国我们国家脏乱差，我们吃不饱，我们在屠杀穆斯林。。你也信？？我说了，欧美语法国家，小学六年学习本国语言，连读报纸看书都困难，我们中文学六年，你看书读报没问题吧？？虽然中文有六万个汉字，但是常用得不超过2000个，掌握800个就可以读懂90%以上得文章，遇到不认识的字，可以靠前后文猜到他的意思，欧美表音问题，你知道发音有屁用？知道什么意思吗？

@@merida11travel 再给你举个例子，我们学习了狗字什么意思，学习了小字是什么意思。我们就不需要学习小狗是什么意思了。但是英文（作为欧美文字代表），狗和小狗是两个完全没有关系的单词，同样的道理，羊山羊公羊母羊绵羊。你去查下这几个单词，然后回来告诉我，是中文这种表意文字简单高效，还是欧美表音文字高效。
