Sally's Cantonese really improved a lot over her time in Hong Kong. Even within this clip, she was able to speak it good. I think her constant exposure to the Chinese characters with the assistance of romanizations helped her with the pronunciations a lot. Since she grew up in Canada speaking English, her ability to read the romanizations came easier to her and I think that is why when she sings the Cantonese songs and speak Cantonese, it comes almost perfect, but still has a little bit of an accent. She originally was an English and Mandarin speaker with no knowledge of Cantonese. Many Mandarin speaking celebrities from Mainland China and Taiwan that come to Hong Kong to learn Cantonese often cannot pronounce the Cantonese words as good as Sally because they often rely on listening and someone teaching them the pronunciations, with no help from romanizations and sometimes they are not good with reading romanized pronunciations. I have found it that when the Mandarin speakers learn Cantonese with the support of romanizations have better Cantonese pronunciations than the ones that learned it without the help of romanizations.
