A beautiful and highly emotional song. I still find it hard to grasp how Rafi could sing a song so so so beautifully with unimaginable depth of emotions . Only a person of divine birth could do this. Khalid Baig is a rare and true inheritor of Rafi's voice. Khalid bhai, you are a truly blessed person to be chosen by Allah to inherit Rafi saheb's magic voice. I love to listen you sing Rafi songs. Excellent. I am running out of words to express my appreciation of Khalid Baig's rendition of Rafi's songs. I only recently saw this old classic movie Dil ek mandir, so I still vividly remember the song and acting par excellence of Meena Kumari, Raj Kumar and Rajendra Kumar in the movie. I notice the uniqueness of Khalid bhai is his ability to sing both happy and sad songs with such an ease, with full of emotions, just like the legend Rafi sahib. Rafi would be proud of.

Brother, to the best of my memory I saw this film in mid-sixties... (I am now 74) We were anxiously waiting for its release because in tamizh it was a super a hit film. When we ( my friends) saw dil ek mandir we found it was better in Hindi particularly the music of this song and jane waale kabhi nahi aathey.. However, lyrics of tamiz song "Ninai padhellam nadandhu vittal" was marvellous.....
