My biggest problem with Akai is that they have basically released 6 standalone MPCs in the past 7 years and 5 of them are functionally the same thing
@trevorf18384 ай бұрын
And in that, they've adapted their product to reach a broader range of customers. Example, I wouldn't be interested in anything other than the Key61 and that's for my own reasons... But after seeing this Key37, I would be more inclined to bring it places with me. It just depends on what you want and what would work best for you.
@jloiben124 ай бұрын
@@trevorf1838 I am always amazed at people who say that because if size is an issue with the 61, a One and any midi keyboard fixes that. Like you don’t need a 37 to get a 37

To me thats the best thing. you can learn the systems inside and out but use a form factor that is personal preference.

They’re the same minus a battery and built in keyboard. If you play keys or use them often get a Key 37. They make battery packs to power this stuff so it can be portable if you need it to be. If you’re chopping samples and putting drums behind them mainly with little to no chords or intricate bass lines, get a live 2

AveGree you know that I never comment to insult you, seriously, I appreciate you very much, you are a fan of Akai MPC's and you have the same tastes as me. I've been watching you since the first video you made. I don't know around that time I saw your MPC videos and they helped me a lot to handle it in a different way, you taught me to love the thing that makes practically everything musical and I appreciate that a lot. This MPC key 37 is a good business move for small home studios, although today any home studio already has very professional and advanced things. We never had MPC's with CV's, not really, and that for my original '78 KorgMS-20 is a sold miracle. Do you know how many hours I spend with the MPC Key 61 and MS20? I start on Fridays and don't finish until Sunday, obviously with rest, but during the day I do that because I don't work on weekends and I take advantage of making music just with this. Well, for me, even doing things live to try out seems so inspiring that sometimes I think that my perfect equipment is an MPC of these characteristics and an analog synthesizer like the Korg MS-20. I also have a Beringer 2600 on the way for less than 500 dollars, and this is going to be the one that gives me all those more classic electro sounds, that thing, although it doesn't sound like an original ARP, it does everything. The idea is to sequence this machine with finished arrangements and play it live with linear sequences, to vary with the faders of the 2600 and the FX type kaos pad of the MPC. It's great that the MPC 37 exists, many will be able to do things live with just this and an analog or digital machine via the MIDI connection. Thanks for this video. 😅👍

I know what you’re saying half about not hurting for the unit but that red dude I freaking love it!! Red is 100% my main color as far as my KZfaq channel, my logo, my energy level lol! Dude, I actually traded my MPK 49 in guitar Center years ago left so you know I took a bath on that trade) for a special edition, a red MPK 249 because one I loved the 16 pads instead of the 12 two they felt much better and it was red, beautiful, bright red! And of course they brought the MPC one plus and it’s red so that tempted me… And now this little 37 is tempting me because of the red. I’d almost get rid of my MPC one to get that unit. I always end up. Plugging a controller into it anyway why not have it all in one device. Just my thought this was wicked good that you just played. I’m definitely gonna check out some of his videos. I hope you’re having a good night man. I will catch you later and thanks for the video.

Dope beat & Nasty bass work. The red suits this product but other colorways would sell more units. I realize this is a keys model but I'm still looking at it as a beat machine! 37 keys is beat machine territory in my eyes.. You aren't busting out two handed melodies and chords on this thing. I think it's cool tho. The form factor is cool to me.
