The worst thing in Boruto is the side characters. Remember how cool were early Gaara, Rock Lee, Orochimaru, Neji? They were intimidating, unique and deep, carried amazing themes. All the team leaders were cool as fuck too. Now in Boruto most side characters are just comedians, copy pasted from their parents. Konohamaru is slaughtered. He is introduced to us so early as EPISODE 2 of original Naruto. And now all we get is him using Rasengan and getting violated.... folded even And of course, villains.... Generic evil+arrogant aliens, it's so dumb. Remember how unique all of the Akatsuki were? I wish they made Kara better.

I like boruto but sheera brought a major point in the only time I really got hyped for boruto was when the og characters naruto and sauske did something. I got really hyped was when Sarada was doing her chidori or her super strength and her eyes boruto has had really good development but he hasent gotten me hyped at all

My issue with Naruto as a whole was the evolution and the power scaling. It kind of got away from a character driven plot, to well, a plot driven plot. The characters were unique and had struggles they had to overcome using intellect, technique, and being one step ahead of their opponent REGARDLESS of their powers. Now it seems like alot of the series especially with the tail end of Shippuden is just throw a bigger attack at it or scale the powers higher and higher until the show becomes unrecognizable.

Boruto just carries on the issues from Shipuuden. Obscene power scaling, Naruto (2.0) being the main focal point instead of exploring the world, and a lack of worldbuilding that made for shallow introductions to the other villages. The peace didn't have to be boring but they spent way too much time trying to mold Boruto into Naruto 2.0, and not enough time exploring how the peace in that world was fragile enough to justify the opening scene of the series.

borutos biggest issue is the filler. naruto had about 45% filler but boruto is sitting on a fat 70%. people always judge boruto based on the first arc or the filler. well its not really they fault the first arc of the show shouldnt be filler. boruto has a forgeable side cast except kawaki, sarad and mitsuki. the character development in the manga canon episodes is great and the fights are amazing. honestly if you gonna call boruto trash I want you to go and watch all of og naruto and shippuden filler. dont rate boruto based on the anime canon/filler epsiodes just like you do with naruto. in conclusion boruto is a 8 or 9 out of 10 when its manga material

I first got hyped with the Boruto show just over Boruto's sheer talent and style in fighting, his Hyuga styled fighting against Hanabi then against Nue. Not to mention that amazing pilot scene I'm the beginning. Then I loved the Shin arc where we got to experience all the old legends from Team 7 together and the introduction to a new main character in Sarada, looked forward to her. By this point, there was also Mitsuki, mysterious, oblivious yet super versatile which kinda gave me Kakashi vibes. And I love Kakashi! Then there was the Mist Arc, I was hyped asf and one of my faves, the fights in that arc were fucking awesome. The new gen by this time established themselves for me, mostly those 3 and I was full on rooting for them. Mitsuki's versatility was still being showcased, Boruto inventing a new jutsu at his age from the beginning to finally mastering at the end of the arc, Sarada's talented fighting against Buntan 👏 the Graduation Arc was dope as well seeing Kakashi's interactions with Boruto and everyone. And got to know more of new gen's skills, other characters that caught my eye on the sidelines were Inojin and Sumire by now. Looking forward to them a lot too. Mitsuki Sage Mode, banger. Then we cut to Byakuya Gang Arc, this arc not anywhere around my faves.. but it still built Shikadai's character for me who I previously didn't have much interest in, so I appreciate it for that and also the cool Ice Style was a nice addition. Then ofc the movie arc, I had to rewatch the movie after I watched the anime's arc and oh boy does the anime do justice to Boruto's character by a miles. In the anime, I found myself rooting for Boruto and sympathize with him a lot alongside Naruto for all the heartwrenching moments with the cake scene, white zetsu, all their conversations, it was simply phenomenal. In the movie, I actually couldn't bring myself to like Boruto as much for what he did. There was numerous minor differences in the way certain characters were portrayed, maybe their voice lines and facial expressions and some cut scenes.. but it wasn't it for me, it wasn't the same. And I ended up not liking it as much aside some cool alternate scenes. It butchered my liking for Boruto for me, but not really. I just thought of it as a retcon like it is, and moved along. So many characters caught my eyes by the end of this tho- Momoshiki, Shinki, ChoCho, Shikadai, Sarada, Boruto obviously the big one. It was a phenomenal arc with all the build up the anime did too during the first arc and so on. Then Mitsuki Arc, it was a slow burn at first but the more and more I watched it, I started being attached to all the antagonists of the arc.. this was a first for me in Boruto. And ofc Mitsuki became my fave by now. Ohnoki crying and self shaming and the fabrications, akkun.. it was an emotional one. Then a quick few arcs with Jugo, Remon, Mirai.. they all had decent storylines and nice fighting animations here and there with my highlight being Boruto fighting Jugo with a cool strategy of using speed instead of power the same way he used speed instead of power against Shizuma since he didn't have as much power as Naruto used to, it gave me cool Minato vibes and i loved him for it, i like to see my mc using his talent to cover up for strength. I found myself being invested in new gen a lot more by now, the side characters I mean, like Team 15 especially with Namida and Wasabi although not as much as the others I previously got attracted to. Then we have the time travel arc and it wasn't until the episode with Boruto activating Jougan and Shinki fighting off Urashiki to save the One Tails when I really started being hyped about this arc.. the time travel was sweet and all, but I already watched a lot of Naruto and spent time with its characters, so it didn't mean that much to me as I was more now interested in investing in new characters. But the Naruto-Boruto, Boruto-Jiraiya, Boruto-Neji and Naruto-Sasuke closures were beyond wholesome nonetheless, all the interactions between Boruto and old gen made it awesome for me, it was like a sweet fantasy. Then we get to say goodbye to Sumire with a cool new character that catches my eye in Tsubaki. After that, we get the prison arc which was not one of my faves but oh boy the end plot twist made up for it so much... it was a shocker and a half. Ofc followed by the return of the prophecy scene with Momoshiki and Boruto's bout with Mujina Gang and him with finally revealing Kara and his Karma Seal, I was on the edge of my seat during the whole reveal. It never crossed my mind or caught my eye with it ever before so when it happened, I wanted to go back and rewatch for hints or anything for it lol (I do that later). Anyway, then comes what I thought would be a slow burn arc, which it initially felt like but immediately wasn't as it kept me hooked with cliffhangers throughout. I absolutely loved it and everything with Deepa and their time in Land of Silence, Boruto is my favorite by now for everything he was during this arc, and this arc also became my most favorite for how well rounded it was, Kara Actuation Arc. Nothing bad to say about it. The villains, the side characters, our main characters, everyone I was invested in through and through, the finale was freaking hype too. And all the training oh man. Then we have a series of manga canon arcs and I had a wild and amazing ride with the likes of Kawaki, Boruto, Naruto, Ao, Kashin Koji, Jigen, Sasuke, Mugino, Kakashi, Sarada, Isshiki, Kurama, Amado, Momoshiki, Code etc. I was hooked and hyped af throughout all these events going on.. and I can't wait until I can experience this feeling again!

I like boruto, my main issues with the series is that the durability of the otsusuki is actually ass, like momoshiki being damaged by a vanishing rasengan. The fact is all they had to to is stab momoshiki’s left or right eye, then chidori or rasengan like otsusuki are like fire type against water type, fire types can learn moves that are more effective against water types, but water type are gonna be super effective. Otsusuki have unique abilities to the shinobi world that can counter jutsu, but there is a way to counter their counter.

My problems with Boruto are filler and the sci-fi aspects. I had a bad feeling about the alien idea since its introduction in Shippuden. I miss the down to earth ninja stories.

As someone who only read the manga (because I ain’t watching shitty anime canon) and has been with the manga for a while (just recently dropped it after what they did to Sasuke and naruto) I can 100% agree with Roshi on the art and paneling. If you compare boruto art and paneling is sooooo bland and uninspiring espcially when naruto shippuden had great art and solid paneling. I feel like boruto would have been way better if it took place 1000 years after the events of naruto so it doesn’t have to take 50+ chapters for us to get to the point where boruto and friends have to figure shit out on their owns without help. Still a solid 6/10, but people need to stop hyping it up as the better version of naruto because they are straight up lying to themselves if they say that

If they picked Sarada as the main character, it would've made sense. Here's my reason for it. There's no Uchiha that became Hokage and her ambition is to become one which is great because that's already a parallel of Naruto to Sarada. It's also interesting to follow her journey because of the Uchiha clan, learning her history, why there's no one left but her Dad and herself. It also connects to the past conflicts of Naruto Shippuden and reflecting what to do in her life once she finds out. Making Boruto parallel to Minato instead of Naruto could've been more fun too. Adding rivalry to the mix because of his bloodline, making him a battle genius instead. But also adding a bunch of expectations on Boruto because he's Naruto's son and having that weight that he carries over and over, always needing to prove himself and working hard for it.

The biggest issue is that Naruto by itself wasn't anywhere near perfect/masterpiece don't get me wrong it's one of the best anime but building on top of an already flimsy structure leads to a worse outcome

In my opinion: 1. I know a lot of people don't like the filler but they have been releasing episodes weekly since 2017. (excusing some holidays, events, etc.) So in order to get that volume of anime for one show with relatively no brakes there is going to have to be some filler. 2. If they continued with Boruto and didn't show Naruto/Sasuke people would be upset so I don't fault them for using them often. The longer the show has gone on the more Boruto has been able to step more into the center stage.

The problem that DBZ always had and Boruto has is the fact that the villains are just 'bad guys'. Naruto had great villains and side characters. Naruto Shippuden had villains that changed the industry until they fuked up Madara's end. Madara was done dirty. He should have been the final villain. Boruto has Great Animation with Naruto and Sasuke. That is a testament to the Animators and not Kishimoto.

And his point that Naruto wasn’t about about space aliens is voided because they simply didn’t know that’s where chakra comes from. Figuring out the Otsutuski plot shows that’s how these ninja even have these superhuman abilities in the first place.

I feel to say Boruto is better than Naruto Shippuden is a bit of a stretch. For one, Boruto wouldn't exist if Naruto wasn't didn't happen first. As of right now, Boruto is okay, but at the dame, Boruto and his friends haven't gone through yet the things Naruto's generation or the generation before. Everyone literally had to face war at their age, going on dangerous life-threatening missions, and where so many shinobis made attempts to attack the hidden leaf village as well as other villages. Garura literally got killed in the first few episodes of Shippuden or when Pain destroyed the leaf village and nearly whipped everyone out. In Boruto the villages are at peace, there are no wars going on. Yeah, there have been attacks, but nothing serious is happening where villages are being destroyed left and right or Hokages are being killed. People liked Boruto which I can understand because we're seeing new people along with the old characters we fall in love with. and grown-up. And which people are entitled with their opinion but saying Boruto is better than Naruto I don't agree with. Not to mention I find it annoying now that people are trying to compare the two, like both of them are good in their own way, even Boruto to a certain degree. However, people seemed to forget that none of Boruto would be happening if there wasn't Naruto. Like One Piece and Dragon Balls, Naruto is a classic show ever liked. Naruto is one of the top 10 anime but I have never seen a single source ( forget about the source being a relevant and famous ) said baruto is one of the top 10 Or 20 anime 6) (this is not a important point because I don't know weather the source is accurate ) but if u compare them on Google searches Naruto the series and their character occupied top 3 position for many year and mainly Naruto series occupied position 2 and 1 for many years but baruto never did that 7) listen carefully this was given officially by the tv channel tv tokyo that produce and air both Naruto and baruto and it released its net sales and gross profit for 2019 and then later 2020 fiscal year ( HERE GROSS PROFIT IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN NET SALES BECAUSE NET SALES IS THE INCOME THAT A COMPANY RECEIEVE FROM THE SALE OF GOODS/SERVICES BUT GROSS PROFIT IS THE INCOME THAT A COMPANY MAKES FROM ITS SALES AFTER THE COST OF THE GOODS AND OPERATING EXPENSES HAVE BEEN SUBTRACTED SO . GROSS PROFIT IS THE ACTUAL PROFIT THE COMPANY MAKES ) so it's funny Naruto tops baruto in terms of gross profit and net sales in 2019 year and Ross profit in 2020 fiscal year even though baruto is a show that is currently running and Naruto ended 3 to 4 years before that 2019 report came in 2020 and 2020 report came nearly in May of 2021 I am not complete my sure about 2019 report but 2020 report is clear 8) popularity : I don't have to mention this because every one knows Naruto is much more popular Than baruto the above point itself is enough Naruto is one of the top 10 legendary anime many people have seen it and everyone in the anime community knows about it or at least heard about even non anime fans knows about Naruto or they would have At least heard its name or They would have at least seen its pictures but is clearly not the case with baruto everyone knows about how much hate this show gets I still don't know why this show have many haters This is one of the few anime that have many haters I still don't know why that's the case Now you can say that Naruto ended and baruto is still running so it could beat Naruto . And if baruto indeed beated Naruto I'll be happy for this show because this show deserves it if it actually did it but I personally don't think it will because like I said above in one of my line baruto series end is near because when asked in a interview the writer said this show won't have no more than 28 volume let's take the max is 30 volume and 15 volume is actually completed when it comes to the televison to volume 17 is currently running in terms of manga so I don't think it can beat Naruto but like I said if it did I'll be happy for this show

Sheera is just being impatient about Borutos eye. That’s literally all that is. It’s not a strike against the show just bc they haven’t went in depth about his eye yet. There’s clearly a reason for that. Lupa just wants to see the fights. He doesnt care about the actual story at all and that’s shown by his response about him not even caring how Boruto got to that point. They don’t really care about the lore of any of it. And really, it’s just annoying how they complain about aliens but majority of the anime has been ninja antagonists. Even members of Kara have shinobi backgrounds. Just bc they’re modified cyborgs doesn’t take away from it. They still use ninjutsu, taijutsu, teamwork, and strategies. That hasn’t changed one bit. Like they were fine with Madara and Obito achieving alien power with the ten tails but not okay with those aliens being introduced? There have literally been 2 Main villains that were aliens bc they were Otsutsuki.

I as well hated the Kaguya arc. It was literally thrown together at the last minute because they forgot about Sakura having her big moment. To me, Shippuden ends as; 4th Ninja War - Madara - Naruto's wedding.
