But by the time the second 2 had been made DP had already done part 5, which made the art more similar to part 5's. All 4 are supposed to look like part 8 though. In the manga confessional is the only one in part 5 style because it was made a decade before the rest when the part 5 manga was coming out

Problem is that we are seeing this from the perspective of non-Japanese people. Japan has a terrible culture of focusing purely on getting signed confessions from suspects. Its very common for detectives to just essentially mentally (and sometimes physically) torture suspects in an interrogation room until they sign a confession. There are many Japanese detectives who would see the golf club wound and affair relationship as all they need to justify holding her in an interrogation room until she signs a confession. Doesn’t help that she feels guilty and did technically push him so in her vulnerable state, she probably wouldn’t take much pressure before signing the confession
