I really like the attention to detail about emotions being byproducts of the “metabolism of the soul”. Throughout the whole fight, Manitoba describes different emotions like how we would describe physiological processes, like when he calls crying, the soul “sweating”. It’s really these kinds of details that really make the characters authentic imo.

Something about the music when Mahito is giving his lecture on souls is just really unsettling, they nailed the soundtrack in this episode.

This episode shows you the grades of some characters. A sorcerer's grade is equal to the grade of curse they can easily exorcise because they are closer in strength to a curse that is one grade higher. So a grade 1 sorcerer, like nanami, can easily defeat a grade 1 curse because he is closer in strength to a special grade curse, like mahito. Yuuji is a grade 3, at this point in time, because he can 'barely' handle a grade 2 meaning he is closer to it in strength. Todou is a grade 1 because he could beat grade 1 easily, without using curse techniques, and was able to fight one on one with a special grade but he had to use techniques. Megumi should be a grade 2 and Nobara a grade 3 (i'm not too sure about hers though).

He did it again at the beginning of the episode saying I am off at 6pm 'Revealing his hand' even though he didn't truly say it. Mahito said he essentially changes peoples bodies by touching their soul, he is also 'revealing his hand' increasing his power? I am not a manga reader but that is my take. Can't wait to see overtime next week and whatever else this nutty anime is gunna give me.
