I always say that Sally's parents are BOTH the worst - because NEITHER of them actually want to engage with Sally's emotions or talk to her like a grown-up. Sure, at least her Dad's nice to her - but he still acts like her legitimate emotional trauma (and justified freak-outs) are just some little girl throwing a tantrum after a hard day at kindergarten, and so he only seeks to distract her or change the subject. There's no sense that Sally will ever be able to talk to him about what happened to her, or what she's currently going through - she'll just have to bottle the emotions up until she explodes.

I don't think the dad is acting the way he is because he thinks of Sally as a little girl,I think he genuinely doesn't know how to interact with her on her problems

@@admiral_potatoexactly he’s not treating her like an adult u don’t need to know how to talk to a person on a specific problem their going through with all you have to do is listen and engage. It’s not as easy as it sounds but it’s no where near challenging. And if you don’t try your just being lazy

Based on things they say to her “I know the drill” And “don’t yell “ knowing sally would start screaming means sally has been a brat since childhood. The mom is fed up with her that even as an adult, she’s still lying and stuff, whereas the dad has also given up trying to help and instead just coddles her

@@Pyramanager a child can't really just be a brat, it has to be taught,the mother also ignores her issues which shows there was probably detachment between the two for ever

Season 1 was a fun goofy show with the funny bald gangster and the funny dumb Marine, season 4 we get a prison arc with the protagonist hallucinating with guilt and goading guards into beating him up because he thinks he deserves to be punished.

I thought the same, but I think it’s just them being really into it! A byproduct of lots of analysis is some overanalysis There’s a lot of subtle things they picked up on that make it so much more enjoyable But sometimes, things are just simple. Gene wants revenge on Barry for Janice. Sally was freaking out because someone was murdered by her boyfriend so close to her without her knowing.

Idk if anyone has mentioned it but the technique that Cousineau had Sally do with Barry in season 2 repeating "I love you" is the Meisner technique. Mr. Moss used the exact same technique at the end of season 3 to break Gene, repeating the same lines to force him to react to the prompts

Fuches shouldn't be in prison because he belongs to the streets. Almost 3 whole seasons trying to tear Barry down and after being given a way out TWICE of course he only takes pity on Barry after he's finally above him. Literally the salt of the earth. The fact that Fuches love of Barry is COMPLETELY conditional and based on his own sense of worth is crazy. I could bet my left nut that if they miraculously get out and Barry's life gets back on track he would try to tear him down again.
