Well done! You have achieved a nice result in your Berwick and as you say, much more pleasant to look at than the tatty old headlining! I have been working on the interior of my Seahawk for the last couple of years and have done similar work to this in the aft cabin. I'm refitting the forepeak at the moment which originally looked like a 'white vinyl cave' and again it will have a more woody look once it's finished. Thanks for posting. Mark

Woooowww! Amazing solulion! We have the same problem with the vinyl. After the solution it looks very warm and neat. I guess it was a hell lot of work! Well done, and thanks for sharing this information

Yes it was a lot of work but I'm very happy with it. I think putting up rolls of foam backed liner on ones own would have been 100x worse and a LOT more expensive. All the best John

Hi Roger. Thanks for your comment... sorry for VERY late reply. Just found your short clip of your Westerly Centaur. Fantastic. I hope you will be posting more clips of your "British Classic". Dare I ask what the state of your head lining is? I have some good sailing friends in North Wales with Centaurs... fantastic boats. All the best and fair winds John.

Thanks Paul... I get a few jokes about sailing the Swedish sauna... but that doesn't stop them coming aboard to drink my beer.🍺🍻.. just hope to be able to get aboard in the near future.🙄 Take care.

I love the warmth that wood adds. Any unforseen issues?

Only just seen this... 2 years lol... no the wood in a couple of places moved a few mm literally 30seconds with brush and varnish. Been up a few years now... if I was doing it again I would maybe put more insulation.. as you cant have too much. However 1 layer and the wood itself is 100x better than the old liner. Fore cabin done now... havnt got round to the heads. I'd do it again if I had too... it's been virtually maintenance free. V happy with it still.
