My family and I sold everything and went on an adventure to Florida to chase our dreams. So, we bought this beautiful 2016 Azimut 50 Atlantis from insurance auction that has been neglected by the previous owner, with plans to live on it after it is complete. We may charter or sell it in the future as we find new adventures. It has some components missing such as; GPS screen with engine gauges and radar with antennas. Some LED lights and speakers were missing. Most of the items are rusted and dirty. The twin Cummins 8.3L diesel engines are good but need everything around them. Also, needs some touch up paint, bottom paint and some gel coat.
Planning to do some island hopping around Florida Keys do some snorkeling and fishing and maybe one day do a trip to the Bahamas.
Check out our other videos as we traveled across the US.
Like and subscribe!!!!
and join our adventures.

How in God's name did such an expensive vessel become so ragged out, in such a short time? A friend of mine has a 1957 Criss-Craft, 38ft. Cabin Cruiser, w/twin Detroit Diesels, and it's in wonderful operating condition, it's old, weathered, and used, but it's still usable, sturdy, and quite a good boat,! They definitely don't build them like they used to! Either way, I sincerely hope you're able to get her sorted, and back at sea where she belongs, and I pray shes gives you years of trouble free enjoyable service! God Bless

Alex, first congratulations on the new to your family cruising vessel. For diesel engines we have what are nicknamed Murphy Switches. These are safety devices that monitor conditions related to the diesels and will shut them down in order to prevent engine damage. Most likely your boat was designed and fitted with a series of these logic switches. A good marine mechanic with real Yacht experience, should be able to help you trouble shoot and learn about your engine room systems and controls. It will take time but you fill figure it all out. Your engine with the diesel fuel in the cylinders was experiencing Hydro Lock, and this can damage an engine so I am glad you were able to drain the fuel from the cylinders before damaging the engine trying to start it in a hydro locked state. I would go through just about every electrical connection by removing connectors and using a Dremel tool with a brass wire brush, or fine sandpaper and clean each connector and terminal. This will also give you a chance to inspect for corrosion and any loose terminal. Electrical issues around salt water is a common issue and sometimes a good cleaning of contacts makes a difference and certainly increases reliability. You will want to learn each and every electrical system in your vessel and what it controls. You will eventually get there. Keep you chin and confidence up, you will get through this and have a wonderful family cruising live aboard vessel... My best to you and your family... Joe

For the JetSki stands, you should get some pegs welded on the bottom of em so they fit into the OEM holes and will work really nicely and you can take them out when you’re swimming and have the JetSki launched. Good work on getting it started can’t wait for when it splashed down in water

The electric fan noise from the ECM is the fuel lift pump mounted behind it. You should have deleted that interface box and went with SMX displays. The Cummins electronics don’t hold up at all in the marine environment. The Fireboy relay box can easily be jumped if you need to start the engines. Take the wires going to the NO post and put them on NC post or connect them together. Your transmissions have electric shift with manual safety override. Remove the solenoid magnets on top off each solenoid and make sure they aren’t manually switched in gear.

Thank you for your comment. I really appreciate your time, and please send me more info and tips and suggestions. 😁 I'm learning this stuff as I go, so any knowledge and words of advice is very helpful. So, how can I make sure that it's not in gear manually? The solenoid is clicking back and forth, but I don't think it does anything unless the engine is running... Thank you for watching. 🙂👍

Your reaction to hearing it start was priceless. I felt the same way when I was trying to figure out why my diesel truck engine wouldn’t turn over after a few months of trial and errors. When I figured it out my whole neighborhood heard me and my truck. Congrats on the start-up hopefully it’s all down hill from here. Great content bro, be blessed.

Hi Greetings from the Netherlands. Really enjoy the content, little tip I would replace the impellers after your are all done because of the dry running of the engines. Looking forward to the next video😊

Nick is correct, running dry for even a short time damages rubber impellers however this vessel has sat unused for years and the impellers have probably experienced some dry rot as well. Always a good practice to replace impellers and inspect the cooling system intakes, clean out boxes, and heat exchangers for blockages, excessive corrosion and seals. The diesel engines will run forever if kept lubricated and at operating temperature under load. Don't skimp in this area, go over it well... Joe
